    Bro, youve given Mina suxh a joy for life, i think its really important for Neenee especially, to sit her down with you, and look her in the eys and convince her she will never be taken back to her once poor and sad life again....Please consider

    Excellent vlog Todd. Mina and Neenee seem very happy there. The teen or young lady looked very pretty in the Hmong dress and fittings. Paul has a great location. Stay safe and healthy new family.

    What an Intricate outfit that young Hmong lady was wearing. Vang Vieng is such a beautiful area with the tall peaking mountain formations. Thank you for sharing a great video as usual Todd.

    Todd, needless to say what you guys do is a beautiful way to care for people. Your observations and concerns of Mina’s demeanor while traveling are founded. Mina is so intelligent and so in tune in the Lao way. Someday she is going to bring so much back to her family and village. May the blessings continue. ❤️🙏🍻

    Hi brother,,this vid was just outstanding! The tractor ride and the Hmong community at the end were super interesting. Was unbelievable how friendly everyone was. I noticed some extraordinarily beautiful women,,the teen in her tradish outfit was was beautiful in that outfit. The mountains were amazing, that mountain you stopped to look at. There is a National Monument in Wyoming about 300 miles straight east of Yellowstone park ,,called The Devil's Tower and it looks just like that mountain you were looking at,,minus the greenery. Legend from the Lakota people say a giant grizzly bear clawed the mountain and made it look like that. If you get a chance,,you might look that up. That type of fractured columnar rock formation isnt that common. I know of a small bit my Grandpa took me to in Oregon volcano country when i was 12,,and a National Park in western Canada i saw at 14 are the only places I've seen it other than Devil's Tower,,because it's an entire mtn. Its volcanic in nature too, just 10s of thousands years older. I guess its deadly flat on top,,,in the 30s or 40 people landed a short landing plane like a Piper Cub on the top. It's very popular with climbers. If i ever make it to Lao,,i say a week or 2 in the treehouse if Mina could handle the swaying. That girl is tough,,packing all the luggage. Todd, I'll ttyl brother ...to be continued! Lol🍺🍺😁

    Well what a beautiful place, from the restful and almost wacky designs of the resort that Paul has created, to the village in the foothills of the mountains, it is all idyllic, so peaceful and tranquil. Loved the story of how after the war the Laos government wanted to attract people back to Laos and gave them land according to family size. I like the idea of a travelling pig salesman. Long may this idyllic scene and way of life continue. God bless you all 😀❤🙏

    It was not that long ago that the government offered help to people who were living in camps in Thailand. I thought that they would be returning to very difficult times. But based on this and driving through villages that have been resettled it looks like they are doing reasonably well. It seems to me that Paul is a good neighbor.

    Geese that island is a must do Todd ol mate. It was funny seeing the pig man there selling as we saw quite a few of them on the road in our travels. Honestly people have no idea how scenic and beautiful the drive from Vang Vieng up the valley to Kasi is. Spectacular on both sides and you get a sore neck from turning left and right. 🤣 Hopefully the place can stay out of the Chinese hands as they will destroy it.

    Neenee is correct. The history of these Hmongs in Vangvieng were sent back from Thailand Refugee's Camp in the '80s. Some volunteer to returned, some were forced. But most, yes, were voluntarily. Glad to see they are doing well and have some beautiful land to live on. I just hope now, the Government won't come out with some kinda issues about selling out to other foreigners, like the Chinese etc.,..

    In hmong law it treditional that when you hurt some one you have to pay for their injuries and if it some time if it involve things that are frightening, you will have to do a Shaman ritual to put the soul at ease. Just think it as american law suit against stress and headache.

      Todd has done a few costs of living in Lao. It is difficult to be precise as it depends on the standard of life you want and where. However I would say if you have anything over US$1K a month income, you will be fine. There is no specific "retirement visa" however it is possible to do it with the assistance of agents. You don't have to be married to a local, have a fixed income(as in Thailand, or medical insurance. If you are new to Todd's vlog and don't know me I have been here 17 years and Todd has done a total of 4 hours of video's with me and my family farm.

    Every country they will have their different of rule n law but to gave some land for native people to come back home is pretty generous of the government no matter what other is going to say.

  • @asiane
    @asiane Рік тому +5

    Actually, NOT all Hmongs are as what you described/said. The minds of these Hmongs were born after the War, influenced by the communists minds/ways. But the calling spirits (tying your risks with blessings) are a tradition ceremony, especially after a scary moment have happened or like an accident. It's not a trap or anything. And yes, Todd, women can be Shaman. Usually only if they have a calling. You can't just decide to be one.
