Deondre Francois. D12. One of the toughest we've ever had at QB. PERIOD. An FSU Graduate. 27 year old man, addressing everything you might say. And he's still playing football professionally this Spring in the UFL. DC Defenders. Nothing but respect Dirtie. 🔥
Really happy that I can finally hear his perspective of everything. Got to see him his first time in the XFL. As someone who was in the stands I can tell you the Guardians fan base really wanted him as the starter. The whole crowed was chanted “We want Francois!” As someone who’s grandfather played at FSU and in the league I know how hard fan bases and the game itself can be on players especially quarterbacks. Deondre Francois was easily the most underrated quarterback I have ever seen at Florida State. Every time Francois got the opportunity to sit back and throw the ball he was an absolute beast. We can talk about how tough he was but his other intangibles were something special. It was proven both at Hampton and the FCL that he has an NFL talent. I wish I was making Florida State related content on UA-cam back when he was playing. I’m hoping he can do something cool in the UFL this year because I would love to build a highlight reel. I actually had the opportunity to meet him briefly while working at Prime Time in 2018 right before the Syracuse game. I won’t pretend I know him but he seemed like a really cool guy. Also I’m really happy to see you making this podcast Javien. Both you and Deondre shown that y’all don’t quit in the face of adversity and are great examples for younger athletes going forward. Keep up the great work I can’t wait to see what else you produce.
Great interview Javien, look forward to more. Deondre, you showed some great maturity and composure in answering the difficult questions, much props to you and wish you all the best in your pro football career. One recommendation for Deondre when football is over, not sure what you're college degree is in but try getting into work for a bank/insurance company, in their back office. Very good benefits, compensation, and stable career overall with a competitive environment. It hurt hearing you talk about your odd jobs when there were other, more reasonable opportunities that could've gotten you by during your off field time.
FRANCOIS THA GAWD!!! Was a huge fan during his tenor, with how tough shit was back then. he really held it down and kept my love for fsu football alive.
My city does not have a UFL team, however I searched the entire league's roster to find what team Deondre Francois was on. I'm now a Defenders fan, only because of Francois. When he played with the Seminoles he was THE superstar on that team. I only wish him the best.
You do not understand how good it is to Deondre Francois? I was in the stand for the Ole Miss game sitting on the Ole Miss side, literally a couple of seats from the tuba players. That first half was hard. The second, so much joy.😂😂😂 After the reported "DV" incident. He dropped off the face of the earth. I'm glad he cleared it up, never arrested and never cuffed. The way it was reported in Orlando. FSU Qb arrested for DV released from the team. I hope you can get James Blackman? Much success.
And that's why I think Willie Taggart jump the gun on kicking him off the team he should have at least give the player the benefit of the doubt and went more into the information and see what he would be charged or not and if he was charged he had every right to stay on that team.
@@Marcmadness99 I will harden your statement with this statement: All men are innocent until proven guilty. It's not his responsibility to prove his innocence. A strange world we are living in.😀
@brothermouzone1307 imma a least agree with you on that, your right players are responsible for themselves and the stuff they do. Unfortunately, Taggart didn't give him due process, and it's messed up because he was never arrested nor charged. But at least he took responsibility for what happened, and he making the most outta his life.
First time checking out this channel. I’m subscribing now… Huge Nole fan and appreciated DF when he was at the helm. I’m originally from Orlando and I remember some friends that are closer to the game telling me about a QB that was raw. Olympia wasn’t around when I grew up there, so I was like, “who”; “what school “? But then he ended up at IMG and eventually at FSU…crazy!
Thank you Javien, excellent host and good questions allowing Deondre to tell his story (up to now). Very enlightening and for a lot of us nole fans Deondre brought clarity and understanding to the table. You are correct that God has a plan and his plan is always better than our plan. Wish you the very best Deondre and thank you. Nice hosting Javien and look forward to seeing future stories.
Biggest FSU fan but I just realized Deondre Francois was Jordan Travis before Jordan Travis. Both tough dudes that loved FSU and it didn't quite end the way it probably should have.
I’ve been saying this! When Jordan came in as a back up in 2020, I told people that he’s just like Deondre. I wish Deondre had a better OLine like Travis had cause I feel like he would done numbers. Sucks how his career with us ended how it did but looks like he’s going good
No. Similar play styles sure but Francois didn’t lead well, wasn’t the guy on that team (Dalvin was) and only played one year really as starter. Sure he beat Michigan in the OB but outside that, it wasn’t near what JTrav did. Statistically not impact on the program. Nowhere near JTrav smh
Deondre was a damn good QB bro we had one of the worse O Lines in FSU history and Francois still did decent give him a solid line or imagine Mike Norvell was HC@@LittleHammer_
@@svdagoat7972 he was ok. We won 10 games, it was a solid year but that’s it, one solid year with him at the helm. He is not on JTravs level as far as impact on the program or statistically. That’s all I’m saying.
Great Pod man. That was definitely a guy a lot of us were high on and then he just disappeared. Just because he's not the quarterback at FSU doesn't mean his life's value ended. Great to see how he has managed through the peaks and valleys. Anybody from every walk of life can take something away from that and apply in their own life. Thanks for capturing that so well and great job of managing the conversation! Looking forward to more content!
I was at work and I thought where was this player and came on UA-cam and this was the 1st video I saw.. Lovely story so sad Bro didn’t make it to the league such a talented player.
Great interview! I hold a MBA working as a security guard and so I know he knows his worth as well. It’s call Life, but it’s all in how you press through and respond. Good luck on your journey Dirtie. #gonoles
I was in the phd program at Howard with a masters degree and worked at McDonald’s for a few months before I graduated. Grind it out until you get it! #allahuakbar
What a great interview!!!!!! I loved hearing his side of the final FSU days. I'm glad he learned from all the down parts of his life and still persevered in his career. I hate that he was so unhappy with his life at one point but it made him who he is. I got to see him play against Notre Dame and it was something else.
Got excited when I saw him jump in the game last week. Didn't know he was still playing. I hope he gets the chance he deserves. They should have left him in last week. Through his answers I know that maturity translates on the field, playing in his prime age. If I was a coach I'd recognize this quality and give him his shot.
Knew Deondre in high school played football together he was great at his age. Was happy seeing him on tv tough as nails. Seemed like he couldn’t catch a break COVID messed things for too. Should do an interview with dexter Williams he played RB with deondre in high school and later on went Norte Dame, and then go drafted by the packers
I can't speak for all of the Noles Nation but I personally hated Deondre Francois getting released from the team!! I truly believe he would've finished the right was and doing while wearing the Spear on his helmet!!!! I'm glad to know that he's still being able to attain his dreams of playing professional football

I think it was more coaching than anything else. Landon Dickerson was on that line and if he stayed at FSU he might not be in the league. He transfers to Bama and now he just got big paid in the NFL.
Dirty12 the realest Nole QB of all time. Humble, hard, tough got it the hard way, out the mud. Willie Taggart ruined his college career not investigating the domestic violence incident properly. He would've kept us rolling even without Jimbo
FSU O line really did Francois a disservice. IMHO the o line was the root issue of all our problems his first year. I always felt like he was really good but we couldn’t see the full picture because of lame Rick Trickett
Jimbo broke D12 and Willie was the worst possible person to be there to rehabilitate him. Jimbo and his refusal to get offensive line help and then leaving him in a game that was already over was criminal.
I forgot about Francois. He was a great before the injury. I know FSU hates Alabama. I don’t what that AL/FL line is but yall are linked. Winston is from Bama. Francois was injured by Bama. FSU got snubbed for Bama 😮. It’s some voodoo or magic on the FSU QB room.
Hampton is a football school bro. Haha. They’ve just been down for a minute. 😂😂. You don’t walk on the grass unless you don’t want to graduate (old tradition)…it wasn’t a frat thing 😂😂. Also, you being lowkey explains why you shut me down for the pic 😂😂😂😂.

I was very impressed by those have graduated from there. Ok, I said a good thing about Hampton. We not completely bad on Georgia ave, just better than y’all 😜
I hate Francois got screwed over by Willie Taggart after Jimbo left, girl lied on him like he hit her and later came out saying it was all a lie. That’s why Taggart kicked him off the team.
Deondre was tough as hell. I have so much respect for him playing through his pain.
MANNNN plz
he took so many uncalled hits in the Michigan bowl game. He earned my respect
Yeah our OL 2018 was garbage
Good to see 12 having a positive attitude on his life. He won some big games for FSU and nobody can deny that. #Gonoles

I think his destiny is Highschool coaching in Orlando. His life keeps taking him there.
Forever a Nole. Tough and gritty. Sucks that he got hurt.
