    Thank you Sean! I have been wondering about this for awhile, another similar question I have is when I should use plugins as stereo? or mono? I always just put all my plugins in stereo till I saw you use mono ones on certain occasions. An overall panning/stereo video (on Logic specifically considering there's the three different types of panning knobs) would be very helpful! ie. when to pan in the mixing process, whether to use stereo pan or balance knob, etc. !! Great work, very helpful!

    • @SeanDivine
      @SeanDivine  6 років тому +4

      most of the time I use stereo plugins on an aux track. that way you always have the flexibility of using stereo effects like reverbs, delays, modulation, etc.

    Sean I'm a big fan of your videos. I wanna say thank you for this opportunity.
    Question, I wanna record vocals through, let's say auto tune, compressor and an EQ. To affect the vocals before they actually record. How u go about that?

    • @SeanDivine

      Hey Gigants! For AT I would recommend AutoTune Live - ua-cam.com/video/rT0AWFMU-dk/v-deo.html w/ compression and EQ directly after as inserts

    Everything is great here I just always wish that people would explain why they chose something for that sound. Like why did you want a vintage sound for that compressor for that vocal? What is the decision process there it always seems so random and people just say its "the sound they want" or "it sounded right." I can't even hear a difference let alone understand the reason behind the vintage decision. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

    Pitcher > EQ> Compressor >Reverb
    or any guidance on how would you arrange these four plugins?

    • @SeanDivine
      @SeanDivine  6 місяців тому

      That works! I tend to do a deductive EQ (removing problematic frequencies) prior to compression, then follow with any additive EQ. That comes down to preference though.

    Please do a video on how to process HARMONIES that support the lead vocal, i am never sure how much reverb I should apply and how to set up the side-chain reverb... ( through a bus ofc. ) and/or if I should use a doubler to spread them out, or pan multiple tracks left and right, or sample delay..........since I'm goin in to detail; video on how to setting up FLANGERS / PHASERS / DISTORTION. please ???? if you respond to this I will subscribe and share this video ahhahhhaha

      I have many videos on the channel covering this. Here's a couple: ua-cam.com/video/qpRX-YY-6BM/v-deo.html, ua-cam.com/video/vSz9CtJ6S6A/v-deo.html

    What up Sean. I like to use track stacks (sub-groups) in logic for vocals. Is it better to eq and compress each vocal (lead, double, background, ad libs) or could I get away with processing everything at once on the vocal bus ?

      hey Erick, you could get away with it but I wouldn't suggest it - you'll want to have separation of your lead with your bgv / adlibs, etc. and processing everything the same way would prevent this
