- Big Jay Oakerson points out that the Oscars nominating a movie like Black Panther was solely done to pander to the black audience. Something they've been doing for years which is why their ratings continue to drop. He also points out that if they were to nominate a superhero film then it would have been Avengers Infinity War since it alot better. (2-25-19)

Bohemian Rhapsody getting nominated for anything besides best actor is pandering to the audience for ratings. That movie is average at best.
Agreed but the due that played Freddy was unbelievable. If it's going to win anything it should just be for best actor and best buck tooth 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I hardly think it's coincidence. Spike Lee treats this like a victory march, when he picked the award out of the garbage can.

They shouldn't pander two marvel films, it's a total pander bear
Denzel doesn't have range, but neither does Harrison Ford. You don't cast guys like that for roles and expect them to adapt. You write a role for them and they'll make it work.
They no doubt pander to audiences but I have to disagree on this one, Black Panther was actually good. Everyone loved it. If they didn't like it they wouldn't have been so bummed when Chadwick passed away. Never underestimate movies that kids love. Patrice O'neal talked about people never mention Toy Story and Shrek when talking highest earning movies.
They absolutely pandered to black audiences with this one! Plenty of other superhero movies were beloved even more than BP. They never got nominated for an Oscar. That alone proved it so you can't disagree. Avengers was way more loved. So was Dark Knight. Where were their Oscar nods? White guilt! Hollywood is full of frauds.
It deserved a teen choice award. Tops.
