      What's funny to me is I've seen so many people try to build a good 4.6 2 valve engine .Every single one of them flew to pieces..Every time they put hi po cams in them they would last about two weeks..yea they hit pretty good at idle with stage three cams .But every one of them flew to pieces...Im still laughing...Pure junk..Just worthless garbage..nothing like a tried and true boss 302 ho roller motor ..that 4.6 was designed to fly to pieces...lol..You have no idea how much I laughed every time they flew to pieces...that shit is so funny..As far as the 4.6 engine Ford has been building them since 1992 in crown Victoria..still today...they fly to pieces..Rod all in the glovebox..Cams all up in the radiator..too damn funny..just certified gerbaaage!!!!😂
      In the 60s the 427 s.o.h.c. with too much blower would fly to pieces..lol...They been flying to pieces for over 50 years..That is a great engine ain't it? Lmao..I had a 98 gt 4.6 and it flew to pieces..Timing chain broke..and yea you already know..it flew to pieces..Like I said the old roller 5.0 ho pushrod engine will still produce more power and cost a fraction to build compared to a modular motor that will..
      Fly to pieces...and I approve this message..

      You could get an '85 F150 with a 5.0l EFI. It was a wiring nightmare, but a solid engine. I drove mine close to 200k

    My favorite is the 4.6l best reliability of all engines. Not the most power but by far the best. I wish they bring back the crown vic again.

      They should. Just keep it Body-On-Frame and FULL SIZE.
      They can just take the frame from the Large/Full Size Pickup-Trucks and SUVs, such as the F150 and Expedition, and give the Crown Victoria an updated GAS V8 5.0 liter engine.
      Also, they can recreate an updated V8 4.6 Liter engine. Which that can be the base engine, while other engines in Smaller Block forms , such as a V8 4.0 to 3.8 liters can be created and be powerful, along with being fuel efficient.....those engines can be had as options.
      Turbochargers and Superchargers can be had as options for all engines.
      Plus.
      Ford can recreate the inline 6 Barra..... Turbocharged or not. That engine can be had as an option. Fuel Economy of better can be had with that engine.

      I do like the 4.6 with the right exhaust it sounds amazing plus with the right intake it can be very torquie but still have lots of top end power

      The 4.6 wasn't very economical in the F series. The 5.4 was more logical than the 4.6 for trucks. The other issue with the 4.6 was the cooling system corrosion problem. It was awful l

    I had a 302 in my 87 Crown Vic and now my 2001 Explorer. Great engine. Super reliable, decently powerful, weirdly good gas mileage.

      I think the 302 technically dates back to the early 1960’s as it started out life as the 260, then that was bored out to 289, then was bored out to 302 cubic inches. Not the most powerful V8 in the world but would run just about forever, wouldn’t be much of a surprise that any Ford with the 260/289/302 would have run up to 200,000 to 300,000+ miles.

      I'm A ford guy but did know chevy made a 302 one year 68 I think. It wad factory rated to tac over 6 grand. Very rare engine to find now they are mean though

    Having Fords since 1967, I would choose the 351cleveland, and the 300 inline 6 cylinder.

      Never had a 351 Cleveland but had alot of other Fords, I always loved the FE series. I always had trucks tho and the Ford small block never was a great low end torque engine compared to the FE series.

    I wouldn’t call the coyote the most reliable v8 engine ford has ever made… I’d give that to the 460

      Absolutely agree! I have a 1979 f150 with a 460 in it. Has 430k miles on it. It’s never ever let me down. Literally turn the key and it starts. It’s taken me everywhere and used to be my daily driver.

      I have a farmer friend who used a 460 on a water well. It ran nonstop for 9 months every year for 10 years. When it dropped a valve it died.

    I've had a 390, a 351W, a 5.0 HO (in a '69 Ranchero), a 4.6 and now a Coyote. Coyote is hands down the best of those. Smooth, torquey, rev happy, fast. 27 MPG hwy@ 75MPH in my 2014 Mustang GT.

    The 289 V8 was a great engine. The 427 powered the Cobra, won in Sebring & LeMans, won in NASCAR and on the dragstrip.

      I heard a claim that the 4.7L can safely withstand up to 500 hp on stock internals. Mine still only makes about 200 and the stock carb is ehhhh. My choke plate takes too long to open and it has jerky acceleration. I have considered an EFI conversion but I could practically buy a junkyard engine for that. I also considered putting a Holley carb on it.
      I have the 2 barrel btw.

      @@DAN007thefoxx1 no... definitely not on a run of the mill 289. and you'll need more than just an induction change to really get much of anything. 4 barrel or efi, cam, probably heads to really be worth messing with. be better to just start with a later 5.0 or 5.8 roller engine. 5.0 windsors are ONLY good for about 5 or 600, then the blocks seem to start cracking... but then, i've never seen that firsthand, so wouldn't know. but i never go with the shorter deck, 5.8 over 5.0, 5.4 over 4.6, hoping my next will be a 6.2... really should've jumped on the one i found for a good price before the entire world lost it's damn mind... i'd settle for a coyote for sure, but a 5.2 would be better...

      when stroked out to 557 they can make MASSIVE power, like 700+ with a little nitrous.

    Ford Cleveland dominated early prostock nothing could touch later the 385 series “big block” Ford also dominated Rickie Smith and Bob Glidden ran em’ one in IHRA and the other in NHRA. They both used the Boss 429 which just recently last December went 5.5 sec 1/4 mile at almost 300mph.

      The cobras have a DOHC 32 valve 4.6 which was in the 93 Lincoln mark 8 and continental but had cast internals unlike the 03-04 cobras and no supercharger

      The early 4v 4.6 motors had the better block this was one of reasons o3-04cobras had to use iron block WAP Aluminum blocks couldn't handle the extra power from SC

      Very noble of you. I like a lot of the old engines from Ford, Chevy, and Dodge. I think Dodge carries the crown of today, but Mustang isn't messing around. It's sad to see the Camaro go away as well, they're all awesome, but I would likely pick Charger due to 4 doors for a kickass family sedan. I wouldn't get a hellcat either, but a more modest venture.

      I love the FE. I am blind and can’t drive but back in the late 70s my 67 Mustang was a 413 ci FE beast I built the engine light and it would turn 7500-8000. The 4.11 bore and 12.5:1 R was a poor boys beast and I still have it.

    I built A LOT of 289's back in the day. It wasnt a race heritage motor like the Boss 302 or 351C but that 289 was one tough engine. For less than 1000$ you could make 350 to 380HP from that little engine. Of course you had to port the heads yourself. A used aluminum 4V intake, a 600 CFM carb, decent cam profile, and a good distributor plus MSD and you were smokin rubber all day long. I love those engines. They were cheep, easy to get parts for and durable. But I agree, the Coyote is a very well designed engine and makes excellent power for the displacement.

      The 289 was good on gas and had power even bone stock. I had a full size '67 Galaxie and the little 289 really punched it and moved the car well.

      The magic number to split a 289 down the middle is roughly 500hp, did once then went to a 347 dart block. However if youre not stupid with 450 or so itll take it all day.

      Got a 66 289 that i cant wait to get built idk why but ive always thought the 289 seems by specs and what ive heard from otheres to be a very tough motor capable of pretty impresive power for its rather small size

    The 6.2 in my f250 has 140,000 problem free miles. Wish Ford and the aftermarket would pick up on this engine in terms of performance. It could be an absolute beast of an engine. Imagine a DOHC 6.2L. Kinda like a “big block” engine but with dohc. Plus the added benefit of having a large aftermarket support.

      @@migueljuarez9181 not really no. Livernois sells some of their custom made cylinder heads and a block for it. And there are some super chargers you can buy. But not near the amount of stuff you can get for the 5.0.

      @@yaboykris2118 I think everyone's hopping on the new 7.3 for aftermarket stuff. Wouldn't be surprised if ford drops the 6.2 if they haven't already. I could see modding a 6.2 especially in a gen 1 raptor, but outside of that it's kinda underrated

    What about the reliability of the 4.6 2 valve? With preventative maintenance alone, they are the hearts of some of the highest mileage cars on the road.

      When the 08's tranny died, i swapped the 06's in and 5 speed swapped the 2006.
      Motors are both as healthy as delivered.

      @@randyderksen4358 I would not say much better . And it depends on the era. In the 70's yes , the 80's and 90's nope. The SBF were better units later on with 700K mile Windsors not uncommon at all. And neither could hope to hope to approach the reliability and longevity of the 2v 4.6L

    I have a 2011 Ford F150 with a 5.0L Coyote V8 in it with 146,000 miles and still going strong and its a beast and it sounds like a beast with the Borla ATAK exhaust on it. I also have a 1996 Ford F150 with a 5.0L (302) Windsor V8 with 210,000 miles and still going strong as well and it sounds beastly with the Flowmaster 40 series dual exhaust and they're both been dead reliable.

    I had a 1970 cougar with a 351 Cleveland. I got a set of Aussie high compression heads. Which made one heck of a lot of difference in the performance

    I'm still and always will be hooked on the 351 Windsor. So many stroker combinations and unlimited amount of heads for 550 horsepower plus range.

      @@slabbusterrtr7690 That is not longer applicable. This is not the 1970's the 351W currently has far more performance parts available than the 351C and the block can support more HP. Back in the day nothing could touch the 351C , but those days are long gone.

    The 351 was awfully hard to complain about.Ive got three of them now ,one in a van and two in ski boats .....these motors are long lasting reliable and easy to fix.

      True. And lots of people want to switch out their 302 for them.
      install the Crane Energizer 272 in your boat. If you want more speed and towing power.

    I have the 2 valve SOHC 4.6 in my 2002 Mustang GT, and at 152k miles, she still runs great. Maybe not the best V8 Ford has ever made, but still a damn good engine.

      Most durable and also the grandfather of the coyote. Definitely deserved to be on the list…They will go down in history as the most durable least maintenance motor of all time..plus a fun torque curve with a great aftermarket support

    I have a 351 Windsor 4-barrel Holly that is my pick. Also have had a couple 4.6 liters with different valve variations and everything 4.6 is a 300,000+ mile engine. I've also seen many 5.4 Tritons go 400,000+ miles. Just not the years where they had no threads holding the spark plugs in.

      We got a 5.4 triton in an expedition thats a lil over 300k miles. Unbelieved its made it that long with the 8th cylinder spark plug being original.

      Back in the ghetto where i lived, we called them the 5.4 triflin V8 cause of how often we hear that tell tale sound of something blowing really loud like a super fast chugging steam engine, or we would just make fart noises as they passed....

    4.6 hands down is one of the best if not the best. These engines pull and pull for 500k miles. Close to 300lbs of torque and 25mpg highway.

    Got a 1991 Bronco I bought brand new in 1991. Still on the original 351 powertrain and still starts right up, doesnt burn oil or leak anything.

    The 302 was in production until 1999 in the Explorer and the MOD motor went into production in 1992 (Panther platform).
    The Coyote is 305CID not 302CID.

    2V 4.6 is the most reliable, the Coyote is the best all around engine. Old school stuff sounds the best.

      New 5.0s have bad oil consumption issues all ford did was change the level on the dipstick 🤦‍♂️
      Triton engines are just a bunch of boat anchors doesn’t matter if it’s a 4.6 5.4 or 6.8 v10 they all suck. Best engine ford has ever produced is the 351 Windsor.

      @@Back_door_bandit_98 Coyotes don’t have oil consumption issues, the 5.2 Voodoo engines have that issue. Two 5.0’s well over 90k miles in my immediate family and they’re rock solid with no oil problems as well as many around the area running very strong. Water pump is the only thing I’ve had to have done on my personal Gen 2 at over 93k. The main issues were with the early Gen 1 motors and that was all related to the aftermarket tuning issues.
      I agree the Triton stuff was trash but the 2V stuff was probably the most reliable engine Ford ever produced. Many over 500k miles in Taxi cabs and patrol cars with just routine maintenance.

      @@169abr you want to talk reliable, look at the ford 300. that straight six can't be killed. i had one that outlasted the body. $300 and i think i had it 14years and it was still rolling when i got rid on it. it was a well used old truck when i bought it survive every form of hell i could come up with and it just came back for more lol.

    The whole 385 series were incredibly great engines with the 429 being used for racing for decades and the 460 basically the standard bearer of what a 1 ton truck engine should be.
    The 289 was a great little engine, and the 351w was a very reliable engine as well.
    The 5.0 Coyote is a very good engine, a worthy successor to earlier modular models of 4.6 and 5.4.

    The Ford V8 4.6 is like the Ford 300 Inline 6 engine in V8 form.
    While the Ford Barra inline 6 is just the Ford 300 Inline 6, just beefed up.
    Both engines, long lasting.

    My heart is always with the Ford FE family, you have guys like Ray Paqet who runs a 427 wedge T- bolt with 900 hp and it revs to 9200 rpm’s and it is made completely from aftermarket parts. The love of the FE runs deep and wide from Oldsmobile style 4.08x4.25 stoker torque monster 445s with 390 blocks, most at 500 hp and 500 ft lbs and fit right in to any 65-76 F series, and 58-70 car Mustangs from 67-70, Fairlanes from 66-69. A very versatile engine. Even a 400 cube FE with ported 352 heads won Engine Masters Challenge beating all comers in the vintage class vs a Jon Kasse built 427 Chevy. 400 ci made 597 hp. Just an old dump truck block and crank . I’m with them for good and I hope the aftermarket comes back from the Royal Scam. The Ford FE has a special place in history. The 4-valves of the 5.0L Voodoo engine will prove to be legendary, but I am afraid that the DIY aspect of hot rodding. I have built 390 based DIY engines that displaced 400 ci that made 640 hp and 550 ft lbs tq and lasted being driven with a 7000 rpm redline and ported(self) iron heads with 2.19 intakes and 1.65 exhausts. They lasted forever, I could drop the pan and everything was like new. The 390 was a block that had the same iron composition as a 427. Dump Truck blocks were especially good. I still believe that the SBC and the standard FE FT are the best of all time. You just have to work with them and they can blow your mind, the punishment they can take. The 428 wasn’t bad either. A 69 Mustang running a 428CJ in C/SA was pretty potent.

      I had my own business in the 80's and 90's. Told my customers to junk those gas pig, bad exhaust manifold FE's.
      I scraped at least 100 of them.
      Switched them out with a 351C or W. Junked plenty of those 351M/400 too.
      When I was 10, dad said let's go to the Ford dealer and buy a new Truck. 68 F 100. Had a 360. Manual Choke. Took forever to warm up. But I remember that engine ran perfect.
      He kept it running for 30 years. Then gave it to me. First thing I did was take the engine out.
      Wish I didn't do that. Maybe it was just a low compression gas pig that needed headers, but I'm telling you that engine ran perfect and and sounded good.
      I've rebuilt over 500 engines over the years, and that was one of the best sounding. I'm not talking about exhaust, I'm talking about how the engine sounded. There's a difference.

      The magazines caused a lot of that. Ford made so many hot rod parts that the aftermarket had to kill them to sell parts. It’s sad what I found in the junk yard. Take them home, change the timing chain, paint them and put headers and a Holley and run another 150,000 miles. I got so many 390s and T- bird 428s and did the same thing and they ran forever. And sounded so good. And amazingly you could pull them clean to 6000 stock. Just Holley and headers. And just a tune. I love the FE., I built a 390 .020 over, a solid cam a little porting and a Holley SD and a 750 carb back. In 1999. 10 years ago we pulled it out to go in another car and we had it dynoed and after all the years it made 503 hp and 482ft lbs at 6600 and pulled it to 7000,and didn’t get below 500. Just a 390 ARP hardware. It still runs great, I’m blind now and can’t drive but it still sounds like a 427.

    Also in Australia we did our own thing with the Coyote and on the last of the 56 year run of the mighty Ford Falcon we had the Harrop supercharged "Miami' . Appeared in the FG and FG X series of Falcons up until it was discontinued in October 2016 . Superb modular V8 based on the Coyote ..Oh yes and the V8 killer Barra Turbo inline 6 ..INCREDIBLE engine capable if done right well in excess of 1000 hp ..3984 cc DOHC 24 valve VCT single turbo monster ...

    I owned a brand new 1991 LX Notchback 5.0 for 6 years and loathe the day I sold it….. my love for that car transcends anything owned until….I bought my 2017 Mustang GT. I have a plethora of suspension mods, brake mods and body panel mods but my favorite mod is the Whipple and the 7,600 rev redline along with 1-7/8” long tube headers that is flat out addictive and eargasmic!! This is a mustang I won’t be selling😍. Thanks for the video your picks on ford V8 favs are spot on!!

    I have had a few flathead V8s over the years. They do have some inherent problems.....overheating, asthmatic, vapor locking to name a few. However they are some of the best sounding V8s out there.

      An electric fuel pump at the tank pushing through the mechanical pump solved my vaporlock issue completely. I never could keep it cool during idle, temp just keeps creeping up. Maybe a better fan?

    I loved my 86 GT 5 spd. You Couldnt kill it. It had 230,000 miles on it when I got it. I drove it hard daily for a year or so. It didn't use any oil and purred like a kitten even after I totaled it. That same engine went in another fox body.

    You missed the Australian 302 Cleveland ! Built in Australia from 1974 to 1984/5 . It was badged a 4.9 litre in Ford Falcons .

    I had a 64 f100 with a 292" y" block, 4v 4sp daul exhaust no crossover from factory , i found it in a barn in Oregon, drove it 15 years daily then sold it in Houston to a collector, still going really good, original!!
    I did brake a rear pinion, drove as a front wheel drive for 2 years until i could fix it. It was a high boy, custom ordered from the guy i bought it from. I payed 700 in 2002 sold for 10000 in 2017 , totally stock, ford Green.. the guy put 20000 in body, paint, bed, upholstery, engine pretty much untouched. Probably the most reliable best handling truck ever. It had dana 44s with 3/4 ton springs, from factory. Also the 352 big block was a good one!!

    Good point about the flathead V-8s adoption in all kinds of industrial applications. One version of the Sherman tank, the Flail, had a rotating drum on the front that used chains to flail the ground and detonate mines. The doghouse on the rear which was connected by a driveshaft housed a Ford flathead V-8. That engine would run forever.

    My favories are the sohc 427 and the 302 boss. I have a 5.0 in a mountaineer that has 7k miles with a blown piston bc of too much boost. By far the most reliable motor ive ever had.

    Personally, the 302 is about the toughest of the Ford v8 engines. They will take overheating,and start back up to run again the next day.

    Had several 289s back in the day and mostly indestructible. As I say that I then remember several crown vics with the 4.6 that went well past 300,000 miles with few problems. Good milage and better power than the earlier 302.

    I personally had two Ford V8 engines a 289 and a 351 Cleveland. My dad had a 302 at the same time I had the 289. For me, who drives cars for transportation to work, shopping and on the highway to visit family in other states, go to football games in other cities and states or drive on vacations, the 289/302 was the perfect engine. It was easy to maintain and gave me adequate power for my driving needs. The 351 Cleveland engine wasn't much different for me. I think it just used a little bit more gasoline per mile than the 289. So I had always said it was my favorite engine, until in 2000. I bought a Cougar with a 2.5 liter Duratec V6. I had that car for 17 years. The sparkplugs and wires were changed after 9 years. Other than oil and filter changes, nothing else was replaced under the hood of that car until it was 15 years old. The one radiator hose was replaced, and at 17 years old, other parts started to need replacement. I have owned a variety of engines over the years. Inline 6 cylinders, V8s, V6s and a slant 4. All except for the slant 4 were Ford engines.

    I've always been a Ford man. Ford cars and trucks are the only vehicles I've owned. The 302 CI engine is what powered the Fords I've owned. It's a great Ford engine.

    I like all the v8s. I have a 5.2 voodoo which I can't help but smile with it's sound. I have old trucks with ft and fe engines. Have a 351c mustang, my favorite.

    It is either a 5.0l or 5.4l 2v. I had the 5.4 in my expedition and never had an issue. Not the most powerful engine but a very good runner if well maintained. Also, good video!

    My favorite is the 60 degree, all aluminum, DOHC four valve, flat plane crank V8! 1100 cubes, 900+ ft lbs of torque, 500 HP. The Army called it the GAA, found mostly in later production M4 Sherman tanks! A variant called the GAC was fitted into the M26 Pershing tank.

    I got a 1965 Mustang with the 200hp 2V 4.7L V8. And for the sake of more power and more reliability I am tempted to perform a 1uz-fe swap (because a Coyote swap is very expensive and because it won't fit in my engine bay with the stock shock towers and I also didn't want an LS). I wanted to do something a little different but the 2JZ-GTE is just too expensive these days and the NA version doesn't make much more power than what I have now.
    And I don't really want a turbo or supercharger due to the added stress on the engine, having possibly no room for an intercooler etc.
    Even all that said, I thank you for releasing this video, Bryce!
    I still look forward to a video dedicated to the 4.7L Windsor V8.

      @@tonyblackburn5002 where I live, the valve cover gaskets leak after about 3-5 years, usually where the head and intake come together under the valve cover. Replace the gasket, starts leaking in 3-5 years.
      I exaggerate a bit about the Exxon Valdez part, but the DO leak. Beyond that, they're powerhouses, rivaled only by the 385 series. And, I have seen a couple of these FE engines go 300,000 mi between rebuilds, so like anything, they can last if you maintain them. Which, in my experience, includes periodic replacement of valve cover gaskets!

      @@moseshughes2670 yeah the vc gaskets were something I had to swap a few times, but I can swap them in a fraction of the time it takes to do them on literally any Ford V8 of today, and costs way less. I can't wait to finish up my 74 with a stroked FE, and I agree the 385 series is the only stock for stock that would rival the FE, but in my experience the 385 didn't like the rpm that the FE could take.

    The 2 valve 4.6 V8 is probably the longest lived V8 Ford ever made, and one of the longest lived engines anyone ever made. In Taxi and Limo duty, 400K miles was not unheard of. The only "weak" part was the valve seals or guides would leak a bit at 300K miles - a telltale blue puff on startup.

    I can't speak for racing since I have never been a big fan of motor sports. Yes, I know, shoot me. But using my 39 years of experience; 23 of those at a Ford dealership, I think of my favorite V8s in terms of reliability and servicability. That would be a tough one because a couple of them come to mind. And I am only talking about the ones I actually worked on. Sure, there were some great ones before 1983 when I started my career, but I didn't really work on those.
    The 7.5 liter or 460 was a great truck engine for those that prefer gasoline. They were trouble free and got the job done. When the 460 did need work, they weren't that difficult to work on. The dealership serviced a lot of commercial pickups with the 460 that the owners abused. The engine just kept on going.
    The 5.0 and 5.8 were great engines WHEN USED IN A CAR! Its a whole different story when used in a pick up. The 300 in line 6 (dubbed the Big 6) was a perfect truck engine and should have been the only option for lighter trucks. The 5.0 and 5.8 were awful in pickups. They were so choked up with emmission controls here in California that neither V8 could do much more than drink gas. But they worked great in cars and were simple to work on once you got the behemoth upper intake manifold off the EFI engines.
    Okay, let me get out of the 1990s. That is where my heart was; my golden years at the dealership. The only V8 gasoline engines I have worked with as a fleet mechanic is the 4.6/5.4 and I can't say much about them. They get the job done most of the time. But 90% of our fleet is diesel so I don't service a lot of the gas burners.
    I do miss the old push rod engines. Rumor has it we may start getting some 7.3 gas burners. Perhaps its the throwback I need

Sure, they don’t like much more than 10k pounds of skid steer going faster than 55 mph, but fuck if it won’t hold at 4 grand up a hill and do it all day long. I’ll never sell that truck.

    I love my stump-pulling FE's.I've got 2 of them(out of 5) that have never had the heads off.both have gone through 4 timing chains and drag me and my camper to the mountains and down to Terlingua every year.Over 400K on them.had them since new.Stick that up your computer.

    My favorite V8 from Ford is the 5.4L used in the third gen Expedition. I know this isn't the most reliable engine, but I like 6 cylinders more than 8.

    Having F250 and F350 since the mid 70's I have always liked the 460 engine. When pulling a horse trailer or flat bed with hay the 460 engines did an excellent job. Now I have a 2008 F350 that I bought new with the twin turbo 6.4 diesel that engine has done just as good as the 460 gas engine. I have 117,000 miles on this truck and only major thing I have done to it is replace the radiator.

    "Best" is highly subjective.
    In terms of fuel economy, performance potential and general reliability, all of which is dependent upon how it was built and prepared for a given task.
    To me, it is Versatile enough that I wouldn't have any problem with having only 302 engines in a Mustang, A half ton 4wd pickup and a full size Lincoln town car. They would all be set up differently and each one

      @@snek9353 what has that got to do with choosing a small block ford V8 to use as a single choice of engine design? The Boss9 would certainly reduce the number and types of vehicles that would accept such a wide engine.
      You could also use the 5.0 block with a bore and stroke rebuild if you have to get something closer to 350 cubes. Its still a small block.

      @@scottbrown7415 I would only use a small block if all I could fit is a small block. There's still no replacement for displacement.
      In all fairness I think the Dodge Third Gen Hemi is the best all around engine, not any Ford.

    A Boss 351 will eat a Boss 302 for lunch. Look at the numbers. I’ve owned them both and the 351 scared people riding with me. The 302 was pretty meh until red lined
