I would have reversed the union and used the darker wood for the union and the lighter wood for the stars and an oil finish would make the colors pop and become much more distinctive.. I also use the natural wood colors instead of colored stain,, usually redwood and white fir.... Adding an oil finish makes a huge difference..
Hey Dan, I used small nails. They kinda blended into the color of the star, got them at Lowes. That way I could line up the points of the stars much easier than is I glued them. Good luck shipmate!
Yeah, in a way. I used the website www.usflag.org/flagspecs.html. They have a calculator that gives you the correct ratios. It’s all based off on how tall you want the flag to be. They call it the hoist side of the flag. Good luck, let me know how it works out.

Beautiful work!!
Seems you made it way to complicated. It would have been easier to cut a new piece then use 100 clamps. Other wise nice job.
Very nice!
You can also use heat to bring that bow back the opposite way
Shipmate ..... What did you use to hold the stars on? The eBay ones have a tiny hole in them.

Is there a formula you use to gauge how big the stripes are compared to the stars?

Very nice. Rule #1 of woodworking, you can NEVER have to many clamps :)
Finish it next time so we can see how it looks
Where did the stars come from?
They were bought from Ebay. They are 1.5 inch "rusty country barn" stars. Thanks for watching!
10:07 WTF was that
Oh that? That's to see if people are actually watching my videos. Thank you for watching!
Very nice!!
