I don't think it's gonna last much longer since you are trying to popularize it. Nothing is for free forever, they are only doing it as a great marketing but not even china can supply us with free printers forever especially after the big A1 recall which is also a great income loss for them whatsoever.
You are probably right, but keep in mind that they wouldn't be giving away so many points if they thought it was bad for business. It is great marketing, like you said. They are bringing a lot of designers/creators over to there platform who are going to post great models for them, which in turn will attract more people who 3D print to there site. The more people they have in there ecosystem, the more money they will potentially make. So I'm sure they look at being generous with there points as a great thing for them to do. That's my thoughts on it, but I could be wrong.
You also have to consider the barriers to creating these models. There is likely just a small demographic that would dedicate their spare time for learning the modeling software and engineering these designs. More people would tell themselves that they want to do this, but even fewer will actually go through with it
I ended up getting an A1 combo with points but returned it for the recall. Now I’m just going to save up for the new flagship since I already have an X1C.

How exactly did you get one for free with your amount of downloads? If Im correct, it takes about 8820 points to get a printer for free, which even if you got 3 points per download (which only is true if for the first 50 downloads of each model, which means most of your downloads are worth 1 point), you would have around 7000, which when accounting for most downloads being worth less than that, you should have I think it was less than 3000 points (not including print profiles, but the print profiles don't get as many points or downloads). So, how did you get that many points, is there something I am missing?
I'm not sure how it all breaks down, but I had about 7,840 points when I got the printer, with around 2500 downloads. You do get addition points for print profiles and for just uploading models. I'm working on getting a second printer now.
@@kevbot.I think they nerfed the system after many people bought printers for free. I have about 1.200 downloads on my models and only 2.000 points. With what you're telling I should have about double of that.

That's tough; you really need a printer to earn points so you can test your designs and print profiles. If I were you, I would buy a cheap printer just temporarily and then use it to start earning points for another printer.
More people would tell themselves that they want to do this, but even fewer will actually go through with it
4. Months later. Just got a free x1.

Hey man, love the content, straight to the point and not trying to sell anything :)
Thanks man!
I ended up getting an A1 combo with points but returned it for the recall. Now I’m just going to save up for the new flagship since I already have an X1C.
That's a good idea. I'm going to do the same. I hope they release a multi tool head printer. 👌
You are really dumb to return the A1 for that stupid recall. You could have printed the cable holder and all would be fine.
So again copying from others?😂😂🎉😁

@@Manaartojapan Collecticraft up there ;)
How exactly did you get one for free with your amount of downloads?
@@BenXC Yeah, they definitely nerfed it.

I'm in Australia and curious whether there's still potential to capitalise on this opportunity. Thanks for sharing! 😎🤙🏼

I saw this video a little bit ago and i am almost able to get a x1c
Thanks for this video! I didn't even think of posting to facebook. I post mine on instagram and reddit. I started by designing a random scraper as a joke (just to remove the calibration lines) and it blew up on reddit and long story short, I bought 2 additional AMS' for my X1C. I was saving up giftcards to buy an A1 mini, but I figure why not just wait longer and get another X1C (or P1S) so far so good. I upload a new model about once or twice a month, and haven't had to buy any bambu filament in several months since i get it all from points
Glad I could help, and thank you for watching! Also, nice work on getting 2 additional Ams's! You should be able to get an X1C in no time by posting in the Facebook groups. It has helped me out a ton!
I just love the death stare into the camera
This is a very interesting idea which I will definitely try out. MY problem is making files that others would like...
So far I’ve been able to get a free P1S and 2 AMS’s!
You're crushing it! That's awesome! 🙌
Hey! What kind of models did you post? How did you manage to get so many coupons?
I love this idea. I'm still learning how to create my own models, so I may have to do the other tasks for the time-being. Is it just as fast to earn points without uploading? Or is uploading the bulk of points? Thanks!
It says that you can use the gift card in Thailand, Malaysia, New Zealand and China (Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan) but is there any chance i could order something to Sweden with it?
I am at 11k point right now, ordering the p1s combo plus some filament for 900€ this month
That's awesome! Nice work! 🙌
i found that whenever you need to upload a design, it also wanted you to upload print profile with it, otherwise it won't complete the whole model for public to see. is this correct? I'm kinda new on makersworld. Because if it is a yes, then I don't have bambu printer, so how can I create print profile without one? maybe I'm doing something wrong here

3,920 downloads for a p1s if my calculations are correct.
32 models, 50 downloads on each model gets you 4800 points, which is about 9 €40 euro vouchers
@@vojinstankovic717 1 download is one point after 50 downloads, so it is almost impossible
Around 2500 or so. You get a lot of extra points along the way, too.
how can you get more points if you're not good at making models and presenting them on the site? I also can't make a print profile because I don't have a bamboo printer

Yes, but the number of points you receive from downloads has been reduced.
Great video! Does this only work in the US, or in Europe too?

No, however the coupons can only be used in the country they were bought/redeemed in.
Is there any way to gain points from uploading print profiles if I don't have a Bambu already? I have an Ender 3 Pro right now.

@@ClassCrafters917 ok thx!

He described multiple ways in this video that dont require a 3d printer. You dont need a 3d printer to make and upload models, nor to be good at using slicing software.
Oh, Idk I saw a comment of his saying that one has to do a test print and all that to make sure all's fine so thought I'd make sure by posting my own, thanks@@Sivanot
This is going to skyrocket the points price or make it slowly fade away
Definitely a possibility.
Yea, part of the problem Bambulab's makerspace has is the fact that many people have models and files taken from other websites for free and sold on the makers pace by people who never designed or built a 3D print
The shipping has a limitation? Like just for USA, EU, etc? Im from Argentina.
not really a limitation but it will take longer for you because you need to ship it globaly
Whats the shop you are on
This sort of thing will probably ruin the quality of stuff on Makerworld as people shovel junk up there just to get a free printer.
How many dowbloads for the P1S?
About 8500 points. You get 150 points for the first 150 downloads, and then I believe its 25 points for 25 downloads after that. Plus, you get points for the print profile.

What is your recommendation on earning points if I don’t have a printer to start off with.
That's tough; you really need a printer to earn points so you can test your designs and print profiles. If I were you, I would buy a cheap printer just temporarily and then use it to start earning points for another printer.
You could also technically get away with designing models and uploading them to Makerworld without a printer. Just make sure to slice the model after you make it and really study it to see if it will print correctly.
This is amazing but I literally have not skill in design or making new things. Just gonna have to do it the old fashion way.
