We have had some good discussions on ATMOS in the Steinberg Nuendo forum, and learned a few things there. One of the biggest things I learned is that for the bed tracks to show up in the renderer, they must be configured as 7.1.2, and then routed to your 7.1.4 master out. They will not appear as a choice in the renderer otherwise. It took me banging my head against the wall a few times before someone else told me. Now anyone seeing this will know.
Thanks Sebastian for this wonderful video. I have a question which is related to Bill's comment. Why is that we need to have the bed configured as 7.1.2 specifically and not 7.1.4? Has it got to do something with Dolby needing the first 10 objects to be specifically beds?
Very detailed intro into Atmos. Being new to Atmos, it took me several hours to go through the entire video to figure it out with my Neundo setup. What would be really helpful would be to have a video on creating an Atmos file from scratch with just one or two tracks. Just having the basics of track setup, mix/panning control, then output to the ATM or .wav file would be very helpful. After learning how to do this, then this video would be an advanced master class for using Atmos. There were so many little steps in Sebastian's demo that would be missed unless you were totally familiar with Cubase/Neundo. Even then I got lost in the weeds. I would have struggled mightly trying to figure it out without this video, it just would have been so much easier with a detailed step by step on one track or two first.
100000000000%!! These videos kinda suck with their lack of detail for new people. Most of just seems like a sales pitch for immerse. Just need 1 video (that is not hours long) for a basic setup.
Great review - comprehensive, good explanations and tips. Definitely a reference video!
Thank you for an interesting and informative session. Hopefully it has cleared up few problems I was having, my next Nuendo session will confirm.
Great walkthrough and presentation. Thank you :)
thank you. this is the only video that tells us to set the configuration to 7.1.2 for the bed when adding a track. i could only get a sterio bed no matter what i would and it was driving me crazy. thanks again
Thanks so much for this excellent video! I can imagine it was a lot of work! I'm excited to test out some Atmos workflows. :)
now after watching this a few times. what a master class totally awesome
Hi! great video
what is the difference between listening through an ambisonic channel like you did and using the downmix fonction in the renderer.
also what is the diference between the dowmix in the renderer and the basic downmix inthe monitoring section of nuendo?
How can you link the LFE to Renderer for Dolby atmos
Now could I setup my DearVR pro reverb in 7.1.4 or does it have to be 7.1.2?
thanks
Isn't there a possibility to directly monitor a Dolby binaural downmix of all beds and objects? Seems kind of a workaround to configure the HOA bus and send that through HRTF...
Awesome insights, but why are your monitors set up upside down?
Great informative streaming video, i didnt know nothing about how Dolby works in general and in nuendo (i do stereo music only) now at least i have some idea what is all about.
i still feel a bit like your monitor speaker upside down ))) (why are they upside down ? haha)
Thanks
Anyone know what type of interface is needed to monitor this?
Thanks for the info. I'm mastering a documentary in 5.1 for the first time and I'm ok with R128 LUFS recomendation levels about -23dB LUFS. My question is how to export this mastered 5.1 channels into Dolby atmos encoding? it can be done only using Nuendo 12 tools? Or do I need an external software encoding? Thanks for the support.
excellent presentation ,how to export the atmos mix as binaural , kindly reply
01:19:05 setting up Object Reverb
How do you/one get hold of an .atmos master file for importing into Nuendo or DaVinci Resolve 17 Studio for learning a little bit that way….is even a commercial blu ray disc possible to extract that master file from?
Can beds be panned on a binaural monitoring? Can’t hear anything I pan in beds, no movement at all.
When inserting the Dolby Atmos Renderer on my 7.1.4 master buss and setting my buffer size to max in my audio interface (Merging Anubis) to 768 samples...the dialog tells me that the buffer size in is not supported?
That is because the Renderer only supports a buffer size of 528 samples (as mentioned in the instructions).
can i use the same method in cubase 12 ?
Does anyone here know if this would also work on Windows?
Haii, is it possible to have a private online lesson with you regarding atmos dolby in Nuendo?
Don't forget to mention that unless you buy Dolby RMU for $1000 you CAN'T DELIVER in Dolby Atmos!
From what I understand you don’t need it for nuendo, but will need it for anything else
@@treykeysor This is what an official Nuendo manual says: "Note* Object-based mixing for Dolby Atmos requires a connection to a Dolby Rendering and Mastering Unit (RMU)."
@@ipoponq Thanks!
@@treykeysor It seems like you actually can convert from ADM BWF to .atmos files using Dolby Converter that is downloadable from Dolby website for free for both mac and windows.
@@ipoponq have you tried it...if so....where did you later use that .ATMOS file?
Please do at least ONE video SPECIFICALLY on Symphonic Convolution in Nuendo (NOT Cubase)...
you added SOLO BIRD in FX BED and added as a BED in authoring window, again you adding that as object, shouldnt you remove that from BED Right??
