    Good video - just the facts, well explained.
    Bonus: NO inappropriate, bad taste in music is always a big plus.
    Thanks!

      Yes, can’t stand it when the video starts out with some grinding guitar, like that motivates us to watch.

    Wow! That was great, clear...precise...and easy to follow. Way to go Longevity, that was a great video; I definitely took away a lot from that learning lab!

    you talk about the dust from grinding thorium, but what about the fumes generated during welding.

    I'm may be going mad (I've watched this video three times), but I missed the part talking about Zirconiated Tungsten? Video title says: "TUNGSTEN ELECTRODES EXPLAINED - 2% LANTHANATED, CERIATED, THORIATED, AND ZIRCONIATED". Still, three times watching and the info is drilled into me! :o)
    For those interested: Zirconiated...
    - Tungsten with Zirconium which is a chemical element with the symbol Zr;
    - AC current ONLY;
    - For welding Aluminum/Aluminum Alloys/Magnesium;
    - Non-radioactive;
    - Extremely stable arc;
    - Color code (seems to be) either brown or white.

    If you consider the law of inverse square the particles of thorium are not dangerous unless they are in direct contact with our skin or in your lungs... consider a hot soldering iron at 400 deg, you can get it very close to your skin and not have a problem but touch your skin with it and suddenly your burnt... if that makes any sense to anyone!
    I have been wondering about the thorium in these rods and issues around grinding them because I'm rather clumsy and seem to contaminate my tungsten often.
    Very interesting stuff man!

    Can 2%thoriated tungsten can be use in aluminum weld?

      No you have to use Ceriated or Lanthanated. Thoriated is for mild steel.

    Beware the El' Cheapo Lanthanated rods. The ones I picked up wander and ball up a lot quite easily. They're supposed to be 2% and I got them from Welding City. I'll try their Ceriated next and if they suck, too, then I will avoid that shop.
