- Welcome back guys! In this video I'm just replacing a heater core on a 2012 Dodge Ram. I know it's not the 56' F100 but I figured if I'm working on something I might as well make a video. Might help someone else out if they need to change one. But thanks for watching, don't forget to like, share, and subscribe. We'll see you in the next one.
Best video yet in almost 2 years of me looking! So I guess I will attack mine. I have 14 Ram2500 but seems to be the same!
This one is my uncle's and since the day he bought it the heat never worked it blew cold on the driver's side and kinda warm on the passenger side. We wasn't really sure either but figured it was worth a try and it works fantastic now
Another great video keep them coming out man
Oh fun. Thanks Dodge.
I’ve got a 2013 but I didn’t have any heat after replacing my water pump, belt, thermostat and some pulleys. I’ve already had it flushed but the goofball that had it before me was putting the radiator sealer in the radiator 😢 almost a $1000 bucks to fix it then almost a year later had to replace the rack and pinion another $2000 part and now I’m back to the heater because we are going into winter lol
Thanks for the video i have a couple questions can u put the hoses on and feed them thru the firewall so u dont have to reach up in ther also did u have to disconnect the a/c completely. I flushed mine and it worked for a month then staryed leaking inside on the floorboard. Appreciate your vid
If I remember correctly I took one hose off under the engine bay and then I pulled the heater box in enough to get the clamp off the other one and removed it that way you may be able to fish them though and remove them after I should have tried that way. Yes the a/c had the be discharged and disconnected from the evaporator. I tired to separate the heater box from the a/c side with no success it has a screw on the fire wall side of the box and I wasn't able to get it but I have seen a video or two of it being done without disconnecting the a/c lines
@@kingzkustomgarage6203 thanks for the reply
Did that take care of the problem. I have cold air coming out of the drivers side and warm in the passenger side
Yes sir it did. Had great heat afterwards. It's not a terrible job just takes a little time to get everything apart enough to get the heater box out. And having to drain the freon out of the ac lol
The core in those have a bypass and once they go bad they will leak through that bypass and will not circulate though the whole core.
How long did it take you? Thanks!
I took my time and didn't rush and I believe I spent about the whole day. It could be done in a few hours
Did you have to drain the antifreeze completely. Btw thanks for the video. I will attempt my own. I have the exact same year and problem.
I don't remember how much antifreeze I had to put back in but I only pulled the lines for the heater core so I would think the engine block and radiator were probably still pretty full. Thank you for watching.
I have a 2012 Dodge ram 3500, 6.7 diesel, no heat, not leaking but within 20 of running it in the summer she is almost overheating. How long does this job take to do?
I believe it took me the better part of a day to do and I took my time. Maybe call it a day job at the most
Nice beat! Who plays it
