    Man I appreciate your videos. You do it justice. Like you said a lot of people just film the quick process. We want details and in depth looks. It helps us noobs out. I’ve used every bit of info you’ve given out for my own civic. So big thanks man, we appreciate it.

    Great job! Very informative with ALL the details which helps many back yard mechanics. I've been turning wrenches for over 55 years and I know many professionals will deliberately leave out the finite details because it brings money into their shops which is understandable however, if that's their game, they shouldn't be posting videos in the first place! Hope everything turned out well for you!

      Gerb blown headgasket😔 had a bunch of problems leading up to it. Car was definitely abused before I got it. Only good part is the dealer I got it from put a brand new trans and clutch in it about 100 miles before I bought it. Haha. Been sourcing parts already and probably pulling my motor tomorrow and prepping to paint it and clean up the engine bay.

    Thanks for the great video. If I were to change the timing tensioner only by taking the tensioner cover off, with the engine in the car - how can I ensure the chain does not jump timing? It looks like the guide becomes very loose once you take the tensioner off.

    • @speeddemon8092
      @speeddemon8092 2 роки тому +2

      There's holes on the back on the cam phasers opposite side off the gear when you have both gear pointing at eachother. You put either the tool they sell in those holes to lock it in place or use drill bills once you do that you cams are set and you put bottom TDC. K24 has 2 colored links per cam mark and one colored for crank mark. One everything's lined up zip tie with out the tensioner thatl keep it in time and putt the tensioner on tighten it pull the pin. Cut zip ties you know the rest your 🙏

    This is super awesome! I am currently taking a k24a2 apart and I have no experience….
    Why are you making sure everything lines up before you pull the chain off?
    Why did you want the piston closest to the chain at the highest point?
    Why did the tensioner need to be locked before being pulled out?
    Is their a specific order the bolts on the top of the head need to be removed?

    • @RiQWitDaBliQ

      Probs because they just keep the k24 the 9th already has... I know people do the k20 head swap on the 9th gens a lot.

    ua-cam.com/video/vpD35ndGBoY/v-deo.html, but hang on, those punh marks woudl only be horizontal if the timing tcahin wa snot stretched and everythign is rosey, in whcih case you wouldnt be doing this? The ocrret way is to put the cover back on and line up the crank pulley with its tdc mark.

    When replacing the timing chain, you also need to change all the gears for new ones, since the old gears already have a workout and a quickly stretched new chain! And so that the chain does not stretch and the gears do not wear out, protect them with XADO revitalizant !!! I had a case: I punctured the engine sump and lost all the oil, but I drove 80 miles to the repair site on my own !!! and the engine was empty. I replaced the pallet, filled in oil and drove on, and this is all thanks to XADO from Ukraine !!!
