The harbor freight mixers used to stand much taller years ago when i first bought one for soil and compost mixing but there were lawsuits against HF because when they were loaded with 80 lb. bags of concrete and the arm to dump it was activated the whole thing was tipping over and hurting people. So they lowered the center of gravity. I've seen these mixers adapted for Gold processing trommels and for screening soil and aggregate. It's a good cheap solution that works.
funny, I had the same idea 3 years ago :) I also wanted to put another one for my soil mixes ... its a lot easier to blend your soils the way you want with these inexpensive mixers ... you can find them in yards sales too for cheap .... for what you want it for you can salvage and old side load washer or dryer... you cut out the bottom of the washer and remove the outer tank ... I bolted 2x4 legs on mine so it sits higher and there is more room underneath to clean out ,,,, leave the water valves on it too,,, you can diver them to the side and hook them up directly ,,, so if you sifting dry soil it off and washing stone you can just hit a switch and the water will come on
Adding a catch pan with a sump pump may help preserve water (some tarp and a hole in the ground for the pump) . And it probably prevents flooding the whole place. I'd guess that the water doesn't have to be really clean the first couple of turns. But a very clever idea!
For most cases you're probably right but we have no shortage of water from our well. Any of the waste water is just seeping back into the ground so it's a nice big loop. ;-)
HF has a larger mixer. I had one, used it once for a project, then sold it for what I paid for it. Then I realized all the gardening uses- sifting compost, mixing soil, as well as media cleaner,
I use to use those round expanded clay balls and I hated those thing, so I switched to HigroMite. That is AMAZING stuff. It’s a rock with a lot of micro holes that holds moisture and nutrients. I had a noticeable growth increase. Looking at your system you have superb filtration so I don’t see the HigroMite getting clogged up. Anyway, love the videos.
So wait. I didn't see him put the black rubber seal between the tub tops and bottom. Does that not have to go in there? That's been a piece of work trying to get it to match the all the holes without sliding all around
So the one hole was enough? It seems you could make it into a 4-holer easy enough. Would that make it even more efficient, or would that not increase efficiency that much?
somewhere in there I said I probably would need to add more holes, but, after using it for a while it seems to do just fine rinsing it off. If I wanted to screen more of the smaller stuff out, I probably would have to add more holes.

The taller stands come with the 3.5 cubit foo mixers. He has the 1.5 cubic foot mixer.
So because of stupid people, it was lawyerized to almost worthless. The American way

@@Bigelowbrook fair enough
I think I'd put another screen on the opposite side, just to speed things along maybe. Great idea.
At first I was like wtf 😬. Then of course hey presto what a clever idea. I suppose it’s easy enough to weld a patch back there for mixing concrete 👍
What a great way to educate us about the cement mixer's assembly and operating systems

what are you mixing rock into dirt for?
really liked the idea with a concrete mixer

I would call the experiment a success 👍
and that is a cement mixer? is it made for a dwarf? how do you get your barrel under it for emptying it out?
It's light, you can put it on a table or something.
you can just hold it over your head and pour it out. ;-)
I have wrestled with the same challenge for my landscape gravel... Still working on the idea.
is this cement or concrete mixer ???
Somedays there’s a difference. Somedays not
Excellent
what a smart man he is.
you could have kept the cut out in case you wanted to mix concrete also :)
Lol, your face when thanking the patreon supporters
Cost please i want one
This whole Time I thought he was going to pour a patio
Hi I use concrete mixer to paint wooden beads for necklaces.
HAD MINE FER 10 MIN. BURNED THE MOTOR OUT OF IT. TURNED IT INTO A BBQ GRILL. NICE JOB
Good video. Thank you.
Electric or battery use .
Sort of like a trommel. And all this time I was thinking of turning my cement mixer into a wood lathe. 😄😄
You can paint small wooden elements in concrete mixer.
Gold Pickers would be proud
Good idea!
Impressive 👍. God 🙏 bless you 🙏🇦🇱
Sorry, I didn't understand what you were trying to do.

Pisos concreto 💜
nice,,,good for dirt screaning....
Too many commercials. Adding your own commercial in addition to youtube's was too much. 👎
Sorry. The only mention I do is for patreon. UA-cam puts adds in automatically and they should all be skippable.
It's tiny :-)
Danger: Water and High voltage is... not good idea.
You can do better than that can't you?
Ruined the machine
