Huge help, thank you! Some of my hardware were different but still able to walk me through completion. The instructions from the manufacturer are as useless as a 3 dollar bill
I'm so glad I watched this video. I've been taking my time for a couple of days now and JUST got the drum assembled and mounted. I used a silicone sealant to stick the seal onto the upper half and beveled awls to align the holes through the seal. Putting a bolt through and moving the awls around as I aligned everything. I put the rubber seal grommets between the inner blades and the tub to dampen any vibrations and help cushion the blades when in use. Tomorrow I planned to mount the Motor and finish the job and .. guess what... I did the SAME as YOU and put the motor mount frame on the WRONG end.. which would cause me to have to Lift the heavy motor each to I reposition the Mixer. I'll unbolt from the bottom frame and swap it tomorrow... BUMMER! Thanks again!
I came across this video as the instructions were horrible . Your right, very difficult to determine which bolts went where. Thank you for making it easier for me with this video.
So thankful I didn't have to put this ridiculousness together! I picked one up on Facebook Marketplace, but I got into an issue where I pouring cocrete with it myself in my basement, i had to deal with my concrete setting up on the floor and had to abandon the concrete inside the mixer and it ended up curing. I was trying to find of video of how this thing went together so I could get the top part of the drum off so I could try chipping out the concrete with my air hammer. Thanks for the video.
Very helpful. A parts list and description (how to identify the part) and where it goes would be excellent. I had the same problems as you did ad neglected to put locking washers which you noted and I did not use the fully threaded bolts and will have to swap them out. Noticed you neglected to use the gasket cement. I have some flexible gasket "rope style" which I intend to stick on both halves of the drum and then basically follow your suggestions for putting the 2 halves with the gasket together. That is where I am now in the assembly. My instructions are missing a few pages and I have downloaded a complete manual. I am taking my laptop outside and will use the video to complete the assembly. I tit the control arm the exact same way you did, but used an impact wrench. I agree with you that this was ridiculously hard. I almost considered drilling a hole in the control arm to enable using a flathead screw driver for a spring compression lever.
Great instructional video. Finally able to put together my mixer after a lot of frustration and on the verge of returning it. The instructions that came bundled with the mixer are possibly the worst I've ever experienced.
Great video👍 mine on the other hand came with 2 bags and absolutely NOTHING was labeled or Numbers so it was just well I guess this bolt goes heart and this water must go here with this bolt 😮😂😂
I did the same thing using a single pipe clamp. Works great (might need to run a drill bit through the hole 1st if it's too tight because of paint buildup). I would post a pic, but cannot find a way to do so here.
Assembling the handle with spring is easy. If you have a quick adjust steel bar clamp, just place one end at top and other end to where bolt goes through. Just tighten clamp and the bolt can then be easily inserted safely.
Thank you so much, your instructions is better than the manual instructions. I had a problem which bolts & nuts to use. The instructions didn’t specify which one to use 🥺😡
Thank you for showing me the proper way to put this thing together because the directions had me lost. It does not at all give us any way of knowing what bolts go where.
Just assembled one. The bolts are now in numbered plastic bags with a drawing showing where each numbered set of bolts is used. For anyone interested, there are no grommets in this kit-just rubber gaskets. Grommets are entirely different and are used for cushioning the sharp edges of holes through sheet metal. I agree that the gasket sealant is unnecessary. Your method works great. The bolts act as alignment pins and also hold the gasket in position. The reason you need to pull the bolts out one by one and reverse them is that the shape of the drum requires that the nuts and washers be on the underside. Don't forget to get the two holes in the side of the upper drum-half in the correct position so that the paddles/stirrers will fit.
March 13th, 2023- I'm assembling the mixer right now. None of the bolts are identified at all. The instructions assign a number to the bolts, but there is no reference to a diagram that describes the difference bolt sizes relative to the assigned numbers. Just as "IRmods services" states.
what bolt did you use to hole the upper sheave on with? belt drive on the mixer side. mine had a small bolt but no washer or any thing that covered the sheave.
Did you put the bolt in the big pulley? I built it yesterday and last night while I was laying in bed I thought “oh shit I didn’t put a bolt in that” lol
I’ve been looking for a team building exercise for MI6 trainees and thought of asking them to build this cement mixer. They’ll come to think that I’ve doctored the instruction manual, to see how they react, because it couldn’t possibly be as bad as it is.
thank you, for this comment. I felt it was just me, as I left the only review on HF site, for this product, stating that the instructions are a fuckign joke.
Yeah so I bought this stuck on the handle , problem is my handle is completely different not sure why….packaging style is exactl the same my back plate on the control box is orange not steel so maybe I got a new modle
You didn’t show the step right before where you have to put the wire holders in and what the secret to getting them in before the last step. Been stuck over an hour
Having issues with the paddles lining up to secure to the drums. Currently have disassembled upper from lower drum and trying to line them up using the paddles as reference. Did anyone have to bend the paddles to make them line up?
Just used this video to put this together. Only suggestion would have been to be more specific on EXACTLY which bolts go where because like it was stated it's not really clear which bolts, washers, etc to use. Also just as a tip I used a ratchet strap to compress the spring and tighten down the handle to get the bolt in. Pouring tomorrow so we'll see how it goes! Lol.
This video lacks some important details of where specific length bolts washer combinations need to be or don't need to be. Plus if you screw up and build it backwards you should probably just scratch the video and start over do it properly. I think this video confuse me more than it helped
be very very careful with this cement mixer when you open the box reach for the panel that holds the motor assembly on one side you will see a switch flip the switch see if it click click click take the switch assembly and the motor plug it in turn the motor on and off harbor freight has a terrible problem with the switches on this cement mixer harbor freight has a terrible problem with motors burning up do not assemble this you will be sorry
Man this video saved us from wasting so many hours! Thank you!
Thank you the paper instructions were absolutely horrendous.
haha yea their pretty bad
Agreed. What the hell
The little details helped me take this project finish home. Appreciated the simplicity. Thank you.
Your welcome
Harbor Freight should pay you for this video !!!! Thanks a bunch .. The paper instructions were some of the worst I’ve seen.
Huge help, thank you! Some of my hardware were different but still able to walk me through completion. The instructions from the manufacturer are as useless as a 3 dollar bill
no shit. worse than any instructions I've ever seen, in my entire life.
Nice job! Much clearer than the instructions that come with the unit.
Thank You!
Hello, I know this is an "older" video, but let me tell you, this was very helpful. Thank you!!!!
@@NeilGunteraz thanks!

Nice idea with the silicone, thanks!
Thank you for doing this. I wouldn’t have got it together without your help you’re right about what bolt to use where was pulling my hair out.
Haha, thanks

You're welcome!
Thank you! The process was so much easier watching your video.
Thanks
Cheers mate, putting together a similar cement mixer and this helped me get it together in 2hrs. Much appreciated!
I used your bold thru handle method and it worked good 😌 I was proud of my self being a girl and to install it the whole thing by my self
Nice! What project are you going to use it for?

The instructions (and difficulties within) are exactly the same for both the small and larger mixer

Thank you a million times over, you amazing bastard!! The manual just doesn't do it justice!
Haha , thanks!
Good job! Even your mistake was Helpful. I still had a nightmare with the bolts. CU of each bolt would be the only suggestion.
Thanks boss. Couldn't have done it without you.
Great video👍 mine on the other hand came with 2 bags and absolutely NOTHING was labeled or Numbers so it was just well I guess this bolt goes heart and this water must go here with this bolt 😮😂😂
To get the handle on with the spring, try using two Irwin clamps to squeeze it into position so the bolt will just slide through
Can you get the clamps on without being in the way?
Yes .. . AT least I did. Sure made my life easier
@@jaylitzinger7000 Nice! good tip

I built my mixer today and after watching your video everything was easy and smooth … thank you again … new follower
You’re awesome man! Thanks for the concise instructions.
You're Welcome!
You're a gentleman and a scholar
The arm is actually easy to get on. Hook the the notches into the ring, and pull back, using the down pressure to align the bolt holes.

No they are not. One big bag of mixed hardware. no numbered bags!

I just put mine together. All the bolts were in a single bag no god damn labeling whatsoever
I just got two bags, sort them yourself….Maybe I just return it pay more for one with parts AND instructions… No time for frikn puzzles.
Some do, apparently. I assembled one tonight. It had 13 separate numbered hardware bags, with a diagram showing where each bag is to be installed.
No rubber washers for the top of the vanes. Read the directions, the top two bolts use the aluminum crush washers to seal.
Thanks
Thank you for this video. Made my life a lot easier!
I seriously wouldn't have figured that out with out you
Thanks! those directions SUCK!!!
Well, that sucked. Used your instructions. Thank you.

Thanks for this video. The written instructions were awful.
Hey there bud, I think you forgot to put the bolt in the pulley wheel.
thanks
Instructions are terrible. Thank you for walking through this build!
So the bead of sealant I see ppl use isn't necessary?
Where do the bolts threaded their entire lenth go???
You have the wheels at the wrong end
Correct. At 1:42 I point that out
Did you put the bolt in the big pulley?

No. Are they upsidedown?
Thanks for posting your build. How long would you figure it takes if you don't need to backtrack? Few hours enough?
a day! lmao. no joke
I had many missing parts in the hardware bags. And YES, the instructions sucked.
Thank you ❤

Yes I wish they had numbers or something on the bolt heads. Good idea with the ratchet strap
FYI. You didn’t show the bolt that holds the wheel on after placing the key way
Thanks 🙏
I was good with the destructions until the motor bracket part... made 0 sense. Hahaha ty for the video
👍💪💪
Thanks
Cool
Thanks!
the instructions are shit so thank you for this video it really helped
You missed showing the most important part of the motor bolt🤦♀️
You need to describe which damn screws ur using...
what size keyway si there for the motor? I lost mine?
Thank you so much for making it so easy. The factory instruction is disgusting.

Mine has been working fine
This will stop working after 6 bags of concrete mixing
Mine is still going strong
Thanks so much. The drafters for this project should be let go. I've never seen such useless documentation before.
My advice don’t buy this unless you like fixing it every time you want to use it
I've had good success with mine. Im guessing quality control is pretty bad
Harbor freight instructions are non existent... fucking joke. I was furious.
Ha! Yes they are really bad
Buy Safemoon Inu crypto
Wish I would have watched the video first, the instructions really BAD
Thanks 👍
