"We all know it costs a lot of money to win a national championship." We Oregon fans are told by our rivals, including Buckeyes, every day that you can't buy a championship. 🤔
Well Oregon spent $17 million to get there too
@@mickey34jbOregon spent more than Ohio State though
But keep trying!! 🤣🤡
@@takforce06 nope
ohio states endowment is 7.9 billion i think they will survive 😂
Lol You're about 6.6 billion too high there, buddy. 😂
@Ted_Stryker ohio state is a public university they have 7.9 billion in the bank it's public record
@@Bbbmurr Most of that money isn't tied to their athletic program. You should probably read those public records a little more closely...
@@Bbbmurr Also, you're low on the overall number anyway. It's more like 10 billion.
@Ted_Stryker It covers the June 2023 to June 2024. Between that time period Ohio State only had 6 home football games and all other sports had less home games than they usually have. More cost for travel and less revenue. Ohio State complained about the scheduling but was unable to get them changed. They average about 8 million for each home game in 2023 they usually have 7 or 8 home games a year.
Maybe they should hire Mrs. Harris. She knows how to go into debt! Her debt was only 20 million.
How much debt do you think Trump accrued in one casino he bankrupted?
@@robertbelar5341 uninformed voter attacks rival while failing to realize his candidate was responsible for largest deficit in history. 🤦🏻♂️
Hi Craig. USC fan here. Starting to watch your videos. Lots of good information you have. Keep them coming…Fight On!
Thank you!
The good news is because of the Biden ruling on Title 9 you can have women's athletics pick up $18.5M of the deficit. 😛
New rebranding ahead. The Ohio State ‘Brokeguys’
OSU can print $$$$$$.One of the largest alumni bases in the country will always have the ability to spend!
The football program carries the rest of the athletic programs.
its fine, im sure michigan will happily foot the bill for ryan days raise 😅
Ohio State has an endowment of $7.9 BILLION. If they don't even touch those funds, but invest them at a conservative rate of 5% return, they will make $395 million dollars annually with the stroke of a pen. Trust me...Ohio State University is going to be JUST fine. That $37 million is .4% of that endowment. Not 4%...point 4 percent! Again...they are going to be fine.
Except the athletic program is supposed to be self-sustaining. Not a welfare program for the university.
That endowment is separate. The athletic department is a profit center on it's own no different than any other large University.
Michigan's endowment is two & a half times the size of osu's.
@@leojanuszewski1019 and it shows when they have to CHEAT to win!
Connor was rouge. Nobody knew how that clown deciphered signs.
OSU is not broke. It has $60 million TV money ($60 million - $38 million = +$22 million). Plus that figure is from 2024. In 2025, OSU won the natty. Best believe in between merchandise, and everything else, that $38 million will be wiped away.
Yes this was for 7/1/23 - 6/30/24 fiscal year, which doesn't include a single game of the 2024 season. They'll be fine and if they need more money they'll just get it from rich alumni.
It’s not just football though. How much money does it cost to pay for the operations of the other sports.
Nah, it was the No Pants Natty so the value is low.
Eventually it will hit the wall and then there won't be enough good teams that money will buy. Then the collapse.
"THE" broke university! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Not at all!
R-E-L-A-X... The football program didn't lose $37 Million, the Athletic Program did. The Athletic Program, something like 37 other sports, gets most of its funding from football. These numbers include a buy-out for the fired basketball coach. It does NOT include the 2024 football season. It includes 2023, with no Michigan game, and no playoff home game, no Natty....Clickbait....
Oh Michigan fans are going to enjoy this 😂
Bc they are slow and don't take time to do their homework. This is clickbait....OSU had only 6 home games last year...they had 9 this year and it willerase that debt. Understand how it works....now back to the cheating scandal um fans 😂
Because it's for fun. Go Blue 🔵🟡
@@Blackhat_JRV Would Michigan have agreed in advance to lose $37 million for another championship? Absolutely
@@observer46-vh5bm of course that's how the game is played nowadays however with the person backing Michigan's NIL and how much money that university makes alone I think it would be hard for Michigan to be at a deficit.
@@Blackhat_JRV I do not doubt that Michigan would not get stuck with a big losse, but if they had not won last year and were told that if they lost $37 million next year that they would win it all, I think that they would say OK. Take the hit for a year.
As an aside, while tOSU has an enormous alumni base, I am guessing that Michigan has more really big money alums.
OSU is NOT the largest NIL. Get your facts straight! The BIG10 is the problem and need to get their crap together
The Ohio State football program is the richest in america at just a hair under 2 billion. I don’t think they’re broke.
That’s what happens when you buy a team full of 5star players.
You mean like every other big school??
Most of the players they recruited themselves. portal contributors were Downs and Judkins. Mclaughlin went out for the season early on and Sayin wasn’t a factor in that championship run. Every team pays players. Ohio State isn’t even at the top. I call this COPE!
@@80skid01most of the players they recruited were payed to come to Ohio state.
@ true, but that’s the same for all the top teams including Xichigan. it’s just the way it is in the NIL era. I certainly didn’t choose it.

LMAO, literally no one cares. Thats what they get for dropping $20+ million to win a natty.
Yeah cuz no other school spent money on NIL 🤡
How embarrassing. All that money and osu athletics made the directors cup top 10 in only 15 of 30 years. Without football it probably would never have made the cut.
Paying players will ruin college sports
We may need to get a new accountant for Ohio State department?
lol.
Michigan has already asked if they should pay to name the stadium Michigan Stadium II since they planted the flag.
The state of Ohio can bale them out financially.
Ryan Day Should be the highest paid coach. He is the greatest coach of all time! Without the cheating from ttun and terrible no call on Marvin against He likely has a record 75 - 5 record and 2 National Championships . He is worth every penny. THE OHIO STATE BUCKEYES ARE CHAMPIONS!!!
You're high
Hm, it sounds like Harbaugh and Moore did know. Darn it! Oh well.
No chance Day gets a raise or extension until he beats TTUN
We are not broke
Wait until you find out Tennessee's allegations that Stallions helped South Carolina defeat possible Michigan opponents in the playoffs in 2023.
Yawn..... Give me break. Moronic theory.
Day doesn't "deserve" a raise. You have a contract. You already make $10m a year, that is for you to eventually be in the Playoffs/Champ Game/Champion. Just because you are the Champs for one year out of 6, doesn't entitle you to get a raise. When you're contract is up, then you can show what you've done and negotiate a different salary.
"Jimmy the cheat" 0-7 vs. OSU in first 7 seasons. From 2017-2020 record 29-16 (sucked respectfully😄). seasons 2021-2023 record 40-3 (world beaters🤔) Oh yea, They beat The OSU Buckeyes all 3 times and knew every teams plays. It's Really simple, in 2021-23 without Conner, Jimmy's a goner. He's right about that "if you have to cheat" line. That means you lost them all Jimmy...
And during that period no death threats to his family. Keep it classy crayola
Shitagain don’t have the money to buy a roster and is soft lost to 6 cupcakes this season😂
But they were able to beat a couple "cupcakes" too.
Like Blowhio State. SNEER....
You don't think much, do you?
Nothing like a painless college football national championship you should be proud.
Michigan has more money than OSU.
〽️Michigan has mud stomp Ohihoe Suckeyes four years in a row.
Lose to Michigan, no Conference Championship and needed a 12 team CFP to make the playoffs.
13-10 asterisk champions. 😅😂
They had the largest operating expense in the country. But they also made the most. They had the big Holtman buyout, two less home games than normal and they field every sport imaginable. Texas, Florida and USC don't have men's or women's hockey.
Here's an idea. Give Ryan Day a raise ONLY if he beats Michigan. That one game should determine how much he makes in 2025. Win the game, get the "raise" amount for the year. Lose the game, your pay remains the same. There's incentive for the coach.
Maybe they should go the michigan route and cut his pay in half! Worked for them😂
Maybe you should root for miCHEATgan and celebrate your championship the last weekend in November.
@@jojowhite9296 Me? I'm a Buckeye fan. I wouldn't be caught dead rooting for Michigan.
That was June 2023 to June 2024. Once they add the rest of the season. Like playoffs, they will be fine. Don't spread panic. I see the click bait and I have to click to see what none sense this channel comes up with. Never surprises me, like they don't follow through on the research before they run it.

Michigan
Alabama
At 6 is Notre Dame..if these teams are having trouble what does it say about the sport in general?
Well I think OHIO ST. paid for there Natty title I don't care how good the buckeyes are yet you couldn't beat three top 5 teams yet they couldn't beat a 6-5 team like Michigan
Absolutely not!!!!!The Buckeyes are the richest college out there!!!!! All top players can get there NIL and play at Ohio State!!!
Michigan's endowment is two and a half times the size of osu's.
Osu's doesnt even make the top 20
Penn St had to pay out Jim Knowles contract. That should save them some $$$. All programs have a deficit.
Heard where OSU has 38 athletic programs it funds...WHY?...most schools barely have 25...Sounds to me..OSU is run like our government.
Have too too look at it. Most of these coaches and athletic department never had to run they program like the NFL. Where you have to do roster management. Its going to show in most teams watch in see.
Go Blue !
You just say anything, you have no idea what The sent last year, take care of your own business!
I don't see a path forward for Olympic sports except maybe T&F...
lmao NIL. More like pay to play.
yea almost like how a job is pay to work
@@chain-wallet Do you not understand the concept of pay to play?
Your obvious OSU bias and bashing is why folks won't subscribe to this nonsense.
NIL collective is bring in the money, plus winning the Natty should bring in $$$$.
It’s from having too many sports. Shed the losers!
There are at least 20 schools that would accept a $37 million academic dept loss to win a national championship. How much more in donations will academics get in contributions due to the football team this year? The football program also upgrades the academics since the school attracts more applications and thereby upgrades the school's academic standing.
No one would accept that much year after year, but for one season, there would be plenty of schools thrilled to do that.
L😂L, yall are a joke, this was last season with only 6 home games, this season had 9 home games and this debt will be all but wiped out, you guys are 🤡s

Your assertion that the deficit of $37 million was incurred this year is incorrect. This deficit has been accumulating since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The absence of spectators at sporting events and other public gatherings resulted in significant financial losses for the organization. However, it is anticipated that these losses will eventually be recouped.
