Cardale wasn't just the man in Columbus. I remember that off season watching Bruce Drennan show talking about the Browns getting the top pick in the draft and picking him as the franchise QB. They hadn't forgotten him in his hometown neither. But I will always believe that without him, we wouldn't have won the championship that year. Even if Barrett never got injured. His cannon and ability to hit Devin Smith deep definitely made a difference in our running game. Zeke never ran for 200 tree consecutive games with Barrett. JT was a good runner, but he never pancaked 300 lb nose tackles to get a first down like he did against Oregon. Or scramble with the speed while running through a couple dbs at a time like Cardale did against Bama. That stuff gets into a defensive players head. Good to see he's doing well and enjoying life! A Buckeye legend for eternity!!!
Completely agree . 12 gauge & Devin Smith were lethal . Which as you said opened up the run game . I think it was a lost fumble against Bama . Dude picked up the ball & Cardale knocked him into next week .
@buckeyetater7540 I forgot about Marshal being an excellent high school QB. But if he were the QB he wouldn't have been available as a receiver. He had a HUGE impact on our playoff run as a receiver, runner and return man.
Cardale is a legend. People forget how great that 2014 run was. He put that team on his back and dominated with Zeke. He had an absolute cannon for an arm, O_H!
Who in Ohio doesn't love Cardale Jones & the biggest thing he said is if u are from Ohio or play for OSU which is the show your reach is so big even if u don't make it to the NFL. It absolutely makes no sense for any Ohio guy not to go to OSU bc of the connections & opportunities that u have even if u don't make it to the league. We win NT 🏆 . Go Bucks‼️
@@pberryberry2734 now that national recruiting is the common practice it's tougher for Ohio kids to come here. Back in Tressels day, Allar would have been here. Fields and Howard wouldn't have transferred. Still possible that CJ would have been here tho because we always did recruit California, Texas and Florida pretty good. Who doesn't?
It's why you have more than two or even four team playoffs to crown a legitimate national championship. The SEC created the early playoffs and benefited from it. Cardale was a beast as was many on that team.
I’m up in Toledo Oh. We have TFUN just 45 mins from us. If the wind blows just right you can smell it from Toledo. I’ve been in Ohio my whole life and from my earliest memories were Buckeyes and that was all you ever wanted to be.
Imagine the QB talent on 2015 team. The 2 time conference offensive player of the year in Braxton even though he couldn't play QB anymore. JT was the returning conference offensive player of the year. Cardale coming out of the bullpen and winning the Natty. And Joe Burrow coming in as a freshman. That's mind boggling
Tom Herman was so important in '14, losing him and replacing him with Warinner really hurt Cardale. That MSU game is so inexplicably. Also, if mich could have gotten a punt away.........
If what happened to OSU in the penultimate 2015 regular season game had happened to Bama, and all things were equal (record, etc.), the committee would've found a way to validate Bama being in the CFP. Another in a list of Buckeye teams that deserved to have a shot to be national champs, but got screwed out of the opportunity.
I love cardale! Buckeye legend

He is definitely royalty in Buckeye nation. I still enjoy watching the B1G in 60 minutes and seeing Cardale truck those defensive backs from Bama.
Dude without him we would have had Jalin Marshall for a QB. So you are correct we are good but a 4th string qb would have been too much to ask. Lol.

This was definitely one of the better shows, keep up the good work
Great interview . You let him finish his thoughts and didn't try to lead him into any controversy .

12 Gauge!!! Forever a buckeye legend.
Great interview. OSU would have crushed Bama in 2015 and its hilarious that Auburn was tampering
We win but I can’t say crushed.
@@cfb1743 right. Wasn't Auburn fresh off the Newton Natty about that time? LoL
Awesome interview

The quote that sums up OSU and the entire state of Ohio. We ain't come to play school...

@@JackycClark you probably meant Duane Haskins. CJ came after Justin Fields.
What's up cardale hope all is well with ya 💪🏾💪🏾

Gus Johnson's phrase still applies : "The whole state of Ohio is (still) counting on Cardale Jones"
Cardale had a f'n CANNON!

Where can I find that hat?
I personally don’t think that the 2015 Buckeyes would have advanced to the championship game with JT at quarterback.
Where can I find this hat?
“The Entire State of Ohio…”
After the 3rd TD bomb it was
12 Gauge Baby
@ 💯%!
The 2015 team got hosed.
Just do conversations with Buckeyes.
All they did was talk about osu. Boring af
It was great, right?!
