Many consider him to be a top 5 draft pick and maybe even top 3. With his towering 6'7" frame, he's often compared to the next Chara or another Victor Hedman in the NHL.

Silayev is one of 2 unicorns is this years draft,,,he and Cayden Lindstrom are big mean and talented. Silayev who didn’t turn 18 till April, his 6ft 7” frame moves extremely well for his size. Skating is no problem. He destroys plays in the defensive zone, retrieves pucks and exits his end with skating or passes that are clean. The problem is where to place him in the draft,,,,,what metrics a team uses to evaluate his defensive capabilities. He and Celebrini are the only 2 in this draft who could possibly enter the NHL next year.. Silayev on a 3rd pairing,,, who eventually will be a first pairing insulating D. I think Silayev still has one more year on his KHL contract. Whoever drafts him will probably encourage he stay and grow his game more. Imagine him with another year of KHL experience under his belt before playing in the NHL. That experience will go a long way! Even if he doesn't grow taller he will for sure fill out a little and get stronger.

As a Ducks fan I really hope Verbeek picks him at #3! He is exactly the type of player Verbeek likes! Yeah the Ducks are loaded with LD prospects but they are all offensive minded and gifted. The Ducks need a shut down guy in a big way and this big kid will be the best at it! The Ducks can also trade some of their high end D prospects such as Lacombe or Luneau for a quality winger or picks that can be used for an RD that they still need.

Not of all he is under Larianov in Russian. He is going to be 3 weeks in USA. He is a solid defenseman I think Anaheim select him. He has only one year contract
@@HockeyNationLiveShow Fegotov did the same but at crunch time he had military obligations to clear! You have to realize that Russia is not the same as Canada or US shit happens.with no logic at all. I lived there!

With Putin in charge you never know but since he didn't roll over the Ukraine in two weeks like everyone thought and with tens of thousands of dead Russian boys, if he started sending some of their top young hockey players into the meat grinder I would think that would backfire on him quite a bit. Who knows, Russia is a strange place sometimes and with Putin in charge it is even stranger these days. Maybe Silayev can pull a Michkov and get over here early...as rumors are indicating.
