The last time I redid my kids rooms they were 3 and 18 months. Now they're 20 years and 18 years and it cracks me up that they've both still got their baby rooms. Over the years they wanted makeovers but they wouldn't keep their rooms tidy enough for me to actually get in there. Now they both have so many posters and actual art up that you can barely tell. They're also old enough they could easily clean their rooms up and decorate mostly on their own! I'm so happy I didn't do a Dora The Explorer theme at the time, it would be pretty horrible now 😂
The cleaning 😅, the music ❤, the chucking crap out the window 👏🏽, the “butt-method” of helping adhere shiplap to walls 😂 - thank you for the humor along with the real work. You rock in all your videos, Angie!
I LOVE that green color. Great choice. It’s now on my list of colors to remember.
It's so good!
Love it!
I just redid my 11-year-old son's room while he was on a father/son trip this past weekend. He walked in Sunday night and loved it. Monday morning, I woke up and everything had been put back the way it was before he left on the trip! 🤣 poor kid can't handle that much change at once. Baby steps.
Also, go Dawgs!
So excited to see the final result!!
Kids sharing is totally normal & great for the siblings too! They learn so much about respect, responsibility & they have a bond with their siblings that is a little different to kids that have their own rooms. I used to think before I had kids they ‘need’ their own room. No - unless a child has needs to have their own space then sharing is totally cool & preferred. We are moving into a larger home & I’m going to keep the little ones sharing. Looks lovely ❤ great work 🎉
It cracks me up on HGTVwhen some parent says oh each of my children have to have their own bedroom and bathroom ! Really ?? I grew up with 3 sisters sharing a room and our family of 7 sharing one bath.
I LOVE the color! Cannot wait to see the rest of the room come together! 😊
This made me feel better about my house because all of our walls are not perfect either and I thought it was just my house lol, my door ways are wonky as crap. Thanks for being forever relatable Angie.
I’ve owned a home less than 10 years old and a home that is more than 40. Nothing was square in either. 🫣 I think it is customary to slap it up as quick as possible no matter the year 😂
This makes me feel better lol. I live in a 1920’s Sears and Roebuck house; and, it’s painfully uneven, lol. It’s a beautiful home but it’s very uneven. I’m sure the settling of the foundation maybe have something to do with it too.
The first winter will throw any square off- that’s our blame here in the north!
Ours was built in 1849, nothing is really truly square here either - but we love it so much 💕💕💕
Bought house brand new I’m 2016…not a square in sight 😂😂😂
Agreed! I live in a brand new home that is totally not square!
Looks great, so far! LOVE that color
Can’t wait to see how it turned out. I love the color you chose!
No way I LOVE seeing all the prep! I watch UA-cam for motivation so this is right up my street 😀
Never skip the cleaning, that's one of the best parts! 😀
Love that color!!! 😮😮 can’t wait to see the rest!
LOVE THE COLOUR 💙
So far so GREAT! The color is really nice.
Love that colour!
Girl, you have nailed it on the color!! Love the green and can’t wait to see part 2.
Love it and love the color! You're inspiring me to get going on a board and batton type design to update my old paneling! Can't wait to see the next part!
Just what I hoped for today. A new Angie- video! You are doing an amazing job with the rooms in your house. The boys' room will look fantastic!
Angela, I’m glad I found your channel. Ii can’t wait to see this room finished.
Love love love this green😍
I love that green!
Can't wait for part two! The green is really beautiful and I also want to see what you did for the beds
Gorgeous green !
Can't wait for part two.
I love the windows in your house.
I like what I see so far. I'm looking forward to more. I love the teamwork between you and your husband.👍🏽👍🏽
I used the same pre- painted faux beadboard- it was the cheaper bang for a nice look. Less work and supplies (less mess)
Angie so far this room is looking amazing 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻, I love the color of the walls great for a boys room definitely a masculine choice and what better for boys to feel grown up❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The music is so much fun!!!
I love these videos! Can’t wait to see the final product!
Glad you like them!
Love the color.
Awe man part 2! I don’t know if I could wait 😭
Ahhh! Another makeover cliffhanger! Can’t wait to see. 😊
Gorgeous color! 👍❤️👍
"Look at me, so young and full of hope!" 🤣
Gees Angie, I don’t know where you find the time to do everything!! You’re definitely “Super Women”. Can’t wait to see the end result, all your makeovers so far have been awesome 😊 xx
When you said about the reality of makeover and stuff I nevered realized those things until you said so thanks for sharing the reality. Also I enjoy watching the boring cleaning I like all aspects of makeover especially your videos.
Thank you for leaving in the “boring” gritty stuff! I’m what I refer to as- “time blind”. I just can’t estimate how long a task will take. Sometimes I start something and get only part way done and I’m exhausted because it’s taken 6 hrs and I hadn’t factored in the cleaning , the problem solving when unexpected things happen, meal breaks, or the prep or final touch cleanup etc. I don’t complete it because I remember how long it took and how much my body hurt. But if I know all the steps and how long I can expect, then I can better plan and task chunk so I don’t get overwhelmed. Because you’re not kidding, the hallway turns into a nightmare mess when you’re taking on a full room project like this. P.S. Evangeline is adorable.
Girl, you step up to the plate, every challenge. Loving the green, and can’t wait to see the room progress. You rock!
,
Thank you so much!!
My home is also not square. Always a challenge when trying to remodel. Love your color choice.
Thank you! 😊
As a chronically ill and pain person I would buy your energy if you could bottle it! ❤
Girl!!!! I love how you can do all the power tools as you get in there and get your hands dirty. Usually beautiful women aren't willing to do that. You can do it ALL! I'm so impressed
I loved the chucking stuff out the window! For just a second, I wondered if CR was going to be thrown out the window as well. He was heaving that bed frame quite quickly. It's fun to be "bad" and do things like that. Your kids would've loved throwing some small things out too. Looking forward to the rest of the room makeover as it's going to be beautiful.
I totally get the nothing being straight problems! Our house was built sometime between 1810-1830 (totally normal age for a house here in the UK but from what I hear not in the US) and as a kid I had to learn what angle to put pencils down so that they wouldn't roll away from me 🤣 and the amount of marbles we lost down cracks because we weren't paying attention is ridiculous
I’d love to see the sleeping arrangements while the rooms are in progress. Do the boys see it as an adventure or a hassle to be displaced for a few nights?
Love these videos!! First note the music you have playing in the background ironically sounds like it’s saying “squeaky bed” throughout the hole bedroom remake and it was cracking me up!! Love your channel!! ❤🎉🙌🏻
I can’t unhear it now! 😂
Thank you for putting the paint color in the description, as my brain is post covid, 48, and stressed so it instantly popped out of my head the second you said it, lol. God bless you!
You're so welcome!
I remember that cute music from the girl’s makeover!
Awsome flossy🤗 y’all did good, now it’s time for a cocktail😂
get a trundle for the 3rd bed, out at night, away during day.
I've never heard of these boards being called anything but paneling. Shiplap is single horizontal boards and they are individually placed and not flat. Looks great though!!
Actually, that's just beadboard.
I'm with you about circular saws😫 - do know why. I saw what could happen when you aren't taking care (he cut his hand really bad - had to drive himself to the hospital since I was only 10 yrs old & mom did not know how to drive)
There is no doubt this room will look fantastic and you are a vet hard worker. This video reminded me why I haven’t started any ain’t projects in a very long time. I have 2 rooms I’m currently wanting to paint but can’t make myself bite the bullet. So to speak……🤪
some Angela lovin music! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Part 1 😩 I’m too impatient for these reveals
Ironically, I ALSO have three boys ages 3-11 and one small bedroom. So this video was very helpful. 😅
Also, I love your fluffy helper.
Im too impatient!! Want part 2 NOW! 😅
It's on the way!!!
I have an apartment that was renovated last year and there's literally a hill in my kitchen. 🥴 It's fun to try to balance my table. 😅😂
At the moment we renovate our house , it’s a brick house that was build in 1932 and it’s a task and there are tons of surprises that can be found everywhere!
My granddaughters have their beds in the closets because they have a cape cod style house. It has helped on space since it's a 12 ,4 and soon 2 year old but the 12 year would like a bed now so the other will have the closet beds 🤣
lmao! my sister and i where 12 and 10... we decided to show all our friends what was in our attic so we chucked all kinds of things out the window! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
My 12 year old recently thought it would be great to put his mattress on the floor to sleep... After his mattress was on the floor beside the rest of his bed all week I told him he needed room to move around and it's about time to put it all back together.... He was like why, let's just move the rest out and have a floor bed... I was like sure why not, if that's what he wants... Floor beds are a thing... And we can always put it all back if he ever changes his mind.
My kids are constantly asking if they can sleep on the floor! 😂
Only Angie would do a room makeover with press on nails!! 😀😀👌
I have to ask... How do you and hubby manage to work on your project together? Our older 2 kids are good to go.. 16 and 12... But my almost 2 year old makes it almost impossible to even try. One of us has to be with him, usually in a separate room while the other one is tackling a task...
Love your videos and your lovely personality Angela❤ what is that creaking Sound that sometimes comes When you are filming? It doesnt bother me im just curius
Your cats been in all of your renovations, is she your assistant? Haha 😆
He thinks he is 🤣
@@angela.braniff well he takes it quite seriously! Lol did you put out your teenagers room make over yet? I can't seem to find it 🙂
What type of panels did you use and where from?
Hi where did you get the jfk quote sign
Our house was built in 1930 & not one wall is straight at all ugh
I love ittt; not to be ~particular~ but this is technically paneling not shiplap right? Bc shiplap is horizontal?
I get the not square walls - our house was built in 1924 and the addition in 1932 and the floors slant and nothing here is plumb either. Every time we have something done the builders grip about it.
I’m confused? Benjamin Moore Peale Green and holding up a Behr paint can. Which is it? Only asking because I love the paint and would love to recreate this color in my mud room.
You can take the paint chip from Benjamin Moore to your hardware store and they will mix it in the paint of your choice.
You had a lot more bedrooms in the old house. Do either you or the kids regret downsizing on bedroom space and the having to go three to a room?
Thank you So Much for showing us that even your kids have dirt! I have 4 children...34, 20, 19 and 12! Lol. They are /were gross!
Our house is 14 yrs old. Nothing straight about our walls or floors either.
"Not a wall that is straight"...oh girl.... we remodeled our 1932/1970/1982 house (yes, it was added on twice) and we suffered through this in every.single.room. UGH
Oh yeah. Nothing is square in our house either. Not a thing! Built in 78. Flooring was fuuuunnnn.
I shushed your kids thinking they were mine making the noise while my baby was napping 😂 Wearing my wireless headphones and totally thought they were mine. Our house was made in the 1920-1930s, nothing is straight here, nothing.
Our home was built in 1958 and has been "renovated" three times by previous owners 🤦♀️ NOT ONE THING is square 🤣 it's been an adventure.
Ugh our house was originally built in 1909. Clearly drywall and such has been updated…still not at all square. 🤦🏼♀️
We live in an old home. It was built in 1921. Nothing is square. Nothing is straight... NOT Even out new additions because you have to finagle around the not square walls!
The “small “ room is actually kinda big
Newer house here and nothing straight about it. It’s horrible.
Caulk is pronounced kaak. L is silent 🤷♀️😁
@melaniefrancisco2586 It’s pronounced however the person speaking it says potato /potaato
Trying to understand why are the boys showing a very small room yet he needs girl has a very big room?
