This is a shout out to all the Sikh community worldwide. I am deeply saddened by the passing of Jagraj Singh Ji. He has been a beacon of hope, tolerance, patience, love for all people and all religions and his words have been extremely uplifting to many - Sikh and non-Sikh alike. May he find his embrace with the Lord and be showered by blessings.
I only discovered him yesterday I feel like crying because he really is trying to heal the pain of life his reincarnation will be a great one either of this world or the unseen. Much love from a truth seeker
I’m Rasta since I’m 13 stopped at 19 restarted at 26 in 2013… and was invited by a Sikh to go to Gurdwara in 2016… went… and loved it… went to 2 or 3 Samagams.. stopped in 2018 & restarted this year in 2021… actually just recently end September… I was invited to take Amrit October 5th…
All basics of Sikhi videos on youtube make me cry with joy - my soul has been starving - now I feel nourished. MOUNTAINS OF GRATITUDE REACHING TO HEAVEN.
Jagraj ji you are amazing I love you and your work. By grace of Waheguru I found this channel and fell in love with Sikhi and embraced it just last month and have never been happier. May Waheguru always bless you and your family! I want to name my future son after you!:)

I loved listening the discussion!!! Raasta people are amazing.. they are very spiritual and down to earth people in my belief. Next time I see a Raasta, I am definitely gonna talk to him to have more views and understanding of their culture. Also, they are very much similar to the Saadhus (Aghori) back in Himalayas in India. Great work done by Jagraaj Singh Ji. I wish his dream shall carry on, and we, as Sikhs, should do more and more Parchar so other people also get to know about Sikhi. I'm grateful to be a Sikh. Its a different religion but in many ways rastafari is like a caribbean culture manifestation of Dharma/Sikhi. Here is why 1) They believe in 1 god who pervades existence and all humans are apart of this god, Haile Selassie I is considered the physical embodiment of God whilst at the same time god not being limited to only Selassie. In Sikhi Guru gobind singh said one of his forms is The Khalsa (His sikhs) Likewise in Rasta they believe all the rastas as a community are a representation/form of the "i" (Selassie I) hence you will here they say "I and I" when referring to themselves as they see the no difference between between the indivual self (atman) and the god (waheguru/brahman/selassie). 2) Kesh/ Uncut hair and Turban as well as requirement to keep it covered. In the Bobo Ashanti Order of Rastas All men are required to keep uncut hair, body hair and beard, women must also follow this and both men and women are required to wear turbans to keep the hair covered at all times. The main difference to sikhi is that Rastas allow their hair to form into dreadlocks whereas sikhs dont. 3) Vegetarian diet Rastas Follow a strict diet called Ital diet, this diet means they cannot eat meat and they maintain a largely plant based diet of vegetables and fresh fruit which they tend to grow themselves where possible. Rastas reject many aspects of the new world (western world) aka "Babylon" which is basically meaning its corrupted materialistic and unjust, therefore they seek to reach "Zion" which for them is a place of righteousness for some rastas Zion is a physical location in the form of Ethiopia or Africa, For others Zion is beyond the physical, its a utopian society where the injustices of the world no longer exist and humans coexist in peace. In order to achieve this detachment they take what is like a sanyas where they leave society and form communities of righteous believers (sanghat) whom live up in the mountains in jamaica and are not interested in worldly possessions or money instead they are focused on god and living a pious life they live off their own farming and self sufficient means. This is closer to hinduism as sikhs largely stay in the world. 7) Rejection of Social hierarchy/ priestly class and ancestor worship. There is no caste system in Rastafari, all are equal under the supremacy of Haile selassie (god) whom dwells in all humans. they do not have any priests or etc, anyone can worship god directly without needing a middleman or etc to pray on their behalf. Rastas are also not permitted to practise ancestor worship. Sikhs arent meant to follow these things either. So in summary whilst they are obviously two very different religions on the surface from appearance, the core beliefs and underlying views of both religions are much closer than people may expect. Respect for both religions.
Waheguru. For the Gurus, Gursikhs, Saints, and Realized beings they have a living experience of the Oneness for themselves. Clearly one can see that this body is just an accumulation of food and that the mind is an accumulation of impressions. What we truly are, What is truly immortal in us, is the Oneness(or God that is more commonly used but doesn't completely capture the description of the Oneness), the Oneness that is all pervading, all doing, all achieving, all experiencing. Sikhi is about connecting with that Oneness, which is immortal, and transcending your limited nature which is subject to time.
the concept of christ is still reasonable, his majesty is the perfect example of a true christ like being , christ never said to worship himself as god either but still god came to us through him as to live for the most high as an example , when rastas say his majesty is christ returning in his kingly character , bobos ashantis rastas say prince Emmanuel is christ returning , rastas are not all agreed upon reason, if people truly want to know deeper attend the nyahbingis
I have learnt one thing in 20 years all of us are same, same water that came millions and millions year back by meteriods striking earth during its infant state, theres no reason to discriminate when u get concious about your surroundings
Very interesting....I learned a lot about Rasta and Sikhi. Speaking to the similarities, wasn't Rasta heavily influenced by contact with the Indian slaves brought over to the Caribbean? Sadhus passing a chillum on Shivarati looks a lot like a dread lock Rasta with his chalice. And what credence do Sikhs give to Shiva? I'm an American, raised mostly Christian, but I've been seeking the Truth for awhile as a yogi of sorts, and Shiva has always stood out to me as a good symbol for the divine. The god of creative destruction, the god of change. It seems to me that change is the only thing that is real, in the sense that all matter is in a constant state of flux. But the field in which the change happens, and the point of consciousness that experiences the changes, that is what stays still, the unchanging, unborn Source that exists in eternity.
mos619 You are probably right about Rastafari and yogis. Just one addtion about Sikhs and shiva. In Sikhi, shiva is not the God of distraction (as in Hinduism or yogimat) but the formless primordial light/soul that is responsible for all creation, maintenence and distruction. Sikhi gives all the focus to oneness of creator instead of division of attributes of nature/God.
V J thanks for the response. You see, I have only been introduced to Shiva from outside Hinduism, and the way you describe it is in line with how it was presented to me, mostly from this website reluctant-messenger.com It introduced me to a lot of mystical ideas, including Sikh. When I began meditating, I got to this place where I was trying to identify with Shiva(the One, the All) and I'd go on Hindu chats and proclaim I was shiva and basically beg people to challenge the assertion. In hindsight, probably a bit of a dick move, but I did speak to a few swamis who basically said I was a good person who lacked discipline. All religions seem to be pointing to this higher-level reality, they just use different symbols, like there are different words for water. Water doesn't change it's properties if you call it agua, or any of the various other words for H2O, but the symbols have different meanings attached to them by the cultures in which they arose. Like the parable of the blind men and the elephant. So I guess what I'm curious about is, what, for you, makes Sikhi a truer or clearer description of reality and more fulfilling mode of being than the various other options, assuming it's not something you grew up with? Even if it was, you seem to have a good knowledge of other faiths, but chose Sikh? Not trying to be judgemental or confrontational, I'm just trying to learn more.
mos619 You do sound like a good soul who is trying to explore the inner truth, sounds like you are on the right path. I was born in Sikhi, but never understood what I have. For last 10 years I have been trying to understand Sikhi and other faiths as well. What inspires me about Sikhi is its simplicity. It is simple yet deeper than most have realized it yet. It has everything that core of others faiths have but no to least rituals. It does ask followers for a practical & deciplined living. Both phylosphy & practice are rational at least for me.
Your passion shines through, I honestly think I learned more about Sikhi from this video than anything I've read up to this point, which admittedly isn't much. I actually found this, or was fed by UA-cam, because I've been researching Rasta livity. I might just be a white guy with dreadlocks trying to justify his devout cannabis use, but a lot of Bob Marley's stuff and other roots reggae really resonates with my heart and I truly feel that I've learned a lot from cannabis, like a literal information exchange or waking up to reality. I don't really claim Rasta though because I'm also into Yoga, Dharma, Tao, Buddha, Shaman, Gnostic Jesus, Eris, and maybe even wizardry if such a thing exists. I basically try to take a broad view of the situation at hand, and utilize all available tools to approach it effectively. I find Sikhi very interesting, especially having seen this, but the language barrier makes it seem a kind of inaccessible.
mos619 I have no doubt whichever path you go you will do great. As a Sikh we understand dharma to be something that comes out of compession, no compession no dharma. So we love every path that value love and compassion for others. One of the best advise I got was to not to put my feet in multiple boats at same time or not to jump in between again & again, obviously because of the higher chance of falling out. It is good to know about other boats but sit in only one. So I practice Sikhi but learn about others as well. I find message of Tao & Zen to be most close to Sikhi so I learn them most to have different prospectives. As far as language, translations are more than good enough for learning but it you choose to follow a path learning the language of its origin will be the best. Also, if you link to learn about Sikhi in English you can check out another UA-cam channel called Nanak Naam, it goes further deep into Sikh philosophy.
ok let me tell you this, the Rasta got angry by hes own stupidity the Sikh was explaining the example of giving blood as an act of kindness the Rasta took judgement and thought he was talking about the morals of blood transfusion 1:42 i am a white UK western Buddhist and am thinking about Sikhism this video was very helpful if someone could help me with a few links to get me learning the religion thanks
Your judgemental, condescending statement made it quite obvious that you are of a European mindset, you are not able to decipher anger and sincerity of heart (not from an African anyway). And the mere fact that you chose to focus on and comment about that over everything, just shows where your heart is. Much love same way I hope your perspective can grow to the point of a genuine spiritual existence some day.
satsriakal ji know alot of people now a days use cannabis to get high which is wrong but actually there are a lot of benefits of consuming it on other forms such as juicing, lotion, and oil without any psychoactive effects. when consumed in these manners thc is not active only cbd, and other waxes. i have seen videos of people with tumors who apply it as topical rub who have litteraly cured and shunk tumor growths
my friend who suffers from fibromyalgia used to take up to 6 pills a day and he said since hes applied a homemade cocnut oil based cannabis rub and applied it to his back he has not had ny pain and no medication needed since then best part no whatso ever psychoactive effect. btw i loved the vid hope all is well have been watching for about half a year :)
hey ya cbd is great but for cancer both are needed mainly thc cause it literally kills the cancer cells when eaten or used as a topical but 100% agree cbd is great for pain, epilepsy... and the list goes on haha btw search up Rick Simpson i think you'd be interested hes cured 100's of ppl with his oil
and, by the way Sardaar ji....children ARE born innocent....stay cool man, you are too aggressive.....the Rasta Man stays cool....let the Rasta Man speak man, you keep interrupting ......you are not a good representative of Sikhi....use more humility..
Hi there, agree he suppose to be more humble there, but u knw wht he was saying , suppose 2 kids raised together in same conditions , one pick bad habbits while othr not, if thy were innocent thn they both suppose to attain the same habbits but its not, why . Bcoz we carry our habbits on soul to nxt birth n we pick tht things more faster thn alredy imprint on our soul. Tht wht he saying here, in this birth we hv to get ride of all such bad things, to get pure.
rastas are cool but their belief system is a bit flawed. haile selassie told the rastas to stop following him and said he is not jah or jesus so if the leader u follow says dont follow me i am not divine then who/what is the belief.. i dunno a bit confusing for me i will need to talk to a rasta about this
We, RastafarI do not have a belief system. We have knowledge. Our King, H I M Haile Selassie I, never told us not to follow Him or that he is not divine. The Bobo Shanti, which I Am, do not see Haile Selassie I as Jesus. He is the King of Kings, Biblically and Realistically, He is the Lion of Judah. If you really want to know how we view HIM Haile Selassie I, check Priest Isaac's UA-cam Channel. He has a video entitled "Who is Haile Selassie I". It is very acurate and will answer many of your questions. Most books written about RastafarI are written by outsiders, and their inherent dislike and need to discredit RastafarI comes through in the language they use. I hope this helps. Blessed love!
Daniel Creft thank you Daniel i really appreciate your response.. to be honest we sikhs can relate to you when you said outsiders have infiltrated with bogus information. This has been a set back for sikhs too
+Navneet Singh then we can infer that u are saying hinduism also tells the truth and that sikhi is not just the only true religion.I don't mean any disrespect to sikhism though. SO DON' GET ME WRONG.

This is similar to the indic traditions of hinduism sikhi jain where most of the followers are also vegetarian mostly.
4) Rejection of Idol Worship
Rastas dont believe in idol worship and reject any stone worshipping or etc same with sikhs.
5) Naam Jap / Chanting Rastafari
Rastas and sikhs both gather in groups to chant the name of their god in their religious music, with Rastas chanting the name of Haile Selassie and Ras Tafari (another name for Selassie) often whilst playing the nyabhhinghi drums similar to when sikhs do waheguru jaap with their drums and other instruments.
6) Detatchment from the Maya/world.
Two minds think alike bless. i listen to reggae music i know where the rasta is coming from give thanks
🔥🔴🔥
Never knew how InI are so similar
Rastafari Greetings 🙏🏾 The I is on social media ?
bless up man. your videos are good. siddah smoke ganja
❤️❤️❤️
the concept of christ is still reasonable, his majesty is the perfect example of a true christ like being , christ never said to worship himself as god either but still god came to us through him as to live for the most high as an example , when rastas say his majesty is christ returning in his kingly character , bobos ashantis rastas say prince Emmanuel is christ returning , rastas are not all agreed upon reason, if people truly want to know deeper attend the nyahbingis
Nice
dyamm all through the video rasta-faria.. guy moved from one place to another 😅
He was working, as he stated.
Daniel Creft yea but common it's a bit hilarious
Anyway the correct way to write its Rastafari not Rasta-faria. Give thanks
The rasta is on the ball he knows his in and outs good rasta
I have learnt one thing in 20 years all of us are same, same water that came millions and millions year back by meteriods striking earth during its infant state, theres no reason to discriminate when u get concious about your surroundings
that rasta guy is not under the ancient order of melchizedok hes under the Benjamin called ras Tafari
Is Waheguru God or teacher?
I would say Rasta’s are more patient you talked to him for 40 MINUTES
9:10 🙏
He said he didn't believe in converting people then proceeded to preach with a one-track mind. Rasta is an inborn can-cept not a persuasion bandwagon.
Jah Rastafari Live!
This man has made up his own version of Rastafari
Make Subtil please 😭 (sorry for my english i'm french)
overstating ur self is 720 degrees 360 degrees inside 360 degrees outside physical and spiritual
@12:45 :'D

You are probably right about Rastafari and yogis.

You do sound like a good soul who is trying to explore the inner truth, sounds like you are on the right path.

I have no doubt whichever path you go you will do great.
Mr Sikh shame that it your first time to talk to Rasta man you do need to mix more with people
ok let me tell you this, the Rasta got angry by hes own stupidity the Sikh was explaining the example of giving blood as an act of kindness the Rasta took judgement and thought he was talking about the morals of blood transfusion 1:42 i am a white UK western Buddhist and am thinking about Sikhism this video was very helpful if someone could help me with a few links to get me learning the religion thanks
ricky stephens this channel has everything you would want to know about sikhi. You could message them on facebook as well and meet them in uk
@@77SoUlJaH77 Rastafari Greetings 🙏🏾 The I is on social media ?

satsriakal ji know alot of people now a days use cannabis to get high which is wrong but actually there are a lot of benefits of consuming it on other forms such as juicing, lotion, and oil without any psychoactive effects. when consumed in these manners thc is not active only cbd, and other waxes. i have seen videos of people with tumors who apply it as topical rub who have litteraly cured and shunk tumor growths
my friend who suffers from fibromyalgia used to take up to 6 pills a day and he said since hes applied a homemade cocnut oil based cannabis rub and applied it to his back he has not had ny pain and no medication needed since then best part no whatso ever psychoactive effect. btw i loved the vid hope all is well have been watching for about half a year :)
RickDoggEnt yeah my mom and brother both are prescribed CBD and I let them know that THC and the psychoactive affects aren't worth it.
hey ya cbd is great but for cancer both are needed mainly thc cause it literally kills the cancer cells when eaten or used as a topical but 100% agree cbd is great for pain, epilepsy... and the list goes on haha
btw search up Rick Simpson i think you'd be interested hes cured 100's of ppl with his oil
and, by the way Sardaar ji....children ARE born innocent....stay cool man, you are too aggressive.....the Rasta Man stays cool....let the Rasta Man speak man, you keep interrupting ......you are not a good representative of Sikhi....use more humility..
He wasn't being aggressive, if you watch his other video's you will see, he was there whilst in stage four of Cancer.
Tht wht he saying here, in this birth we hv to get ride of all such bad things, to get pure.
rastas are cool but their belief system is a bit flawed. haile selassie told the rastas to stop following him and said he is not jah or jesus so if the leader u follow says dont follow me i am not divine then who/what is the belief.. i dunno a bit confusing for me i will need to talk to a rasta about this
Ravdeep Singh apneh kehreh khat ya?
This has been a set back for sikhs too
Yes I! Understanding helps to bring us closer to each other and simultaneously closer to the Creator. I hope I have helped you to be closer to InI
I am also Herbman421
why does your teaching looks similar to the teaching's of hinduism ??
vishu kadian the truth is truth. No one can can claim copyright on it
+Navneet Singh then we can infer that u are saying hinduism also tells the truth and that sikhi is not just the only true religion.I don't mean any disrespect to sikhism though. SO DON' GET ME WRONG.

vishu kadian yes but sikhi has refined that truth. No superstition,no idol worship,no meaningless rituals and stupid and false beliefs.Guru Nanak ji was the incarnation of Vishnu and shiva.
Rasta man a rasta man, a Bingi man a bingi man, a Bobo man a bobo man
jesus is cleophis that came to India the son of Cleopatra and Mark Anthony the roman
india met rasta before they met ras Tafari before
The hindu know who is An
So the nirvana know who is Anunnaqi of the highest of nine
To me if ur a bush men Singh u would be smoking cannabis the best home grown natural
guru u to smart for this guy
I agree with Rasta man about the creator not judging anyone. There is no such thing called Dharamraaj as explained by Jugraj Singh.
sikhwarriors alot of reference on angg 220 n 1404 abut dharmaraj
I n I Rastafari believe in eternal judgement of I souls. He was asking is Jah a jealous Jah? We know that he is
