I've had my 2011 since I bought it brand new. Lariat, 4x4. No problems at all, 125,xxx miles. Runs better now, than new. Bone stock truck. Dealer maintained. I'll run this truck till it won't run anymore then buy another. Grandfather in law just bought a brand new 2015 F250 and its sweeeeet.
Put a tuner on that piece along with an air intake and straight pipe it. That will give a moderate performance output. For maximum output, add bigger injectors and an upgraded fass fuel pump with bigger lines.
No one can`t say that the ford king ranch is not the best! I mean I personally love the interior and exterior... Plus the 6.7 powerstroke is just an unbelievable engine. I mean back maybe 8 years ago they weren't but ever since the 6.4 they've been awesome. Hate to say it I'm starting to like it even more then cummins..!
Jorgen Wu Then you gotta upgrade the injectors, injector pump, fuel pump, after market intercooler. Then you gotta beef up the transmission because the stock trans max is about 600 horses and the torque will be around 1400+.
I've never bought a Ford before, but I have been impressed with a lot of the products they've brought to the table recently. Their new Powerstroke does make a lot of power, but I personally would not consider a Ford diesel until they have proven their reliability a bit better.
I do wished Ford would make these available in the UK because our closest equivalent just sucks. However, I'm not talking about pouring millions into developing a right hand drive model for the UK, rather, doing what they did back in the late 60's and early 70's. Back then you could order a full size Lincoln/Mercury/Ford, Galaxy, LTD, Marquis, Continental etc through a number of speciality Ford dealers which then give you the comfort of your dealer warranty's etc. rather than the way it is now whereby you have to purchase through an importer and thus have no dealer warranty's.
cheyennedogsoldiers Well sir you seem to be open minded, however if you tune into this site regularly you may see why Mr Gilbert feels the way that he does. It happens very frequently. There is a particular troll named MrKeyboardcommando that writes anti American hate slurs on a regular basis of very low social skills but decent vocabulary and a few others as well. But we welcome you and your open mind to TFL and hope that you return often. Please don't be offended.
Good evening Bruce and thank you. Normally I don't respond to trolls but this one did annoy me. However, rest assured he or others like him won't deter me from TFL.
Easy! I had a 2012. Piece of shit. Grenaded the power stroke in less than 60 thousand km's. Not so tough! Thats the diesel however, I know nothing of their other trucks.
there is a way to tell longterm longevity = owner proper maintenance, working the diesel but not abusing it you should see long term use on it. 10 years no problem
Hopefully Ford's Diesel Engine will bring a legacy as the 7.3L International that put Ford on the top of Heavy Duty Trucks. I might want to get my 2000 7.3L a new brother! Time will tell on Ford's engine.
I was only aware of one recall on the 7.3L the cam sensor. I'm not against the 6.7L but like it or not it's still a new engine.... I really think myself that it's going to be Ford's 7.3L.
Just so ya know, you actually get less traction with duallys... because its almost the exact same amount of weight spread out over a larger area. Which is why duallys are really only good for 5th wheel or goose-neck trailers. More flotation and less traction with a dually, and relatively less flotation and more traction with a single rear wheel.
The last time 8.2 Seconds from 0-60 was considered "really really fast" in any vehicle application would be back in the late 70's early 80's when there was gas crisis and nearly everything on the road was a 4 cylinder or a V8 putting out like 150HP in a 4000lb vehicle. I'd go with "decent acceleration for it's size" next time, unless your other car is really a 1982 Toyota Corolla... Then maybe 8.2 gets you excited
I just got to the 0-60 part. That's a rather alarming acceleration rate for an 8000+ pound truck...just my opinion, don't hate. If anyone knows the exact science with contact patches, rolling resistance, etc [i've barely studied those fields] feel free to correct my guesswork/i feel smart/ answers. :D
I chose the cummins because it is an inline 6 engine design. If you ever have to swap a turbo, you dont have to pull off the cab off like on the ford, good luck working on that Mother F*. Also Microsoft SYNC can't compete with Dodge navigation interface, I love the chrysler navigation, so simple and straight forward to use.
Nathan, come on. We get that you're running out of shirts, but a Daewoo shirt?! Never get that desperate again! Wow, real impressive power numbers from that engine.
The Ram 2500 doesn't have the HO Diesel, it has the lesser powered Cummins, I think around 100 Pound Feet less torque and less horse power. Due a like for like test, but then again it really doesn't matter, people aren't buying these truck's to see how fast they are 0-60.
I once had a Daewoo television. It blew out in 9 months. I saw a Daewoo car in my condo's parking lot when it was only three months old and the valves were ticking so loud that it sounded like it was fifteen years old. I felt bad for the person who bought it and spent all of their hard earned money on it. At least the television was for guest room in my house and was on sale for only $75.00. I'm glad that they no longer offer cars in The U.S. anymore.
I think the 6.7 Powerstroke is alot better than the 6.0 and the 6.4 Powerstroke engines, those engines suck. The best diesel engines that International made was the 7.3L IDI and the turbo version (Aka the 7.3L Powerstroke), DT360, and the DT466(E). Since the 6.0/VT365 and the 6.4 came along, right out of the box it was having issues. I'd prefer this, 7.3L IDI, T444E (7.3L Powerstroke), Cummins 5.9L (both 12V and 24V), Cummins 6.7L, Cummins ISB 6.7L, and the 6.6L Duramax.
In a drag race to the dealer for repairs the Ford Diesel owners will be in 1st place. People who tow want reliability and longevity not some trendy race truck that doesn't last a long time unless you spend $1,000's on multiple repairs!
Its not a race truck... Its a heavy duty truck made to tow shit just like gm and rams trucks but just has more power and torque... Maybe if you don't redline the engine on a cold start like you probably do then it wont have any problems.
i have a great understanding of physics but thanks for asking. i dont see what the problem it..both the silverados have 20 less horsepower but the diesel weighs a few thousand pounds more...
I like both ford & ram trucks they look great light duty or heavy/super duty , no offense but who say ford looks ugly makes him look stupid the real thing is that chevy HD they took a 1994 model & gave it new look it's like they are out designs
mohammadkwt it is a direct offence actually. That's the same if I say UR stupid just 'cause U like blue color n I like silver metallic or smth... Moreover here in Ukraine I saw RAM 1500-2500 on sale, F150-350 is so rare to find 'n' unpopular.
Can`t really say it`s ugly. I mean de each his own but like mohammadkwt said, it`s like chevy ran out of designs. 2014 and 2015 chevy`s look the same as the 1994`s. And yeah the ram has a great look but tends to sit to low at some points.
Wildland North The looks definitely wont. Ugliest truck I've seen the original super duty was the greatest even this one looked good. New one not so much.
At full throttle it was in 4th gear before it even got to 60mph. And you think it needs even shorter gears? optimal final drive gearing depends on several things, mainly transmission gearing, tire size, and engine rpm range.
I'm sorry dude but was that the only clean shirt you had or did someone pay you to put that piece of shit cars shirt on? Even the fastest model Daewoo is a 10 second car personally anything above 8 secs is slow as shit for a everyday street car.
These guys deserve more views then there getting. I hope they pick up in popularity
And still the best Duallies out there. Hope Ford keeps it up.
Put a tuner on that piece along with an air intake and straight pipe it. That will give a moderate performance output. For maximum output, add bigger injectors and an upgraded fass fuel pump with bigger lines.

Wow surprising results !
That moment when you get done watching a vid, and it says 1 view. Good job Nathan and crew, keep it up
PeeWiiHerman Congratulations. ;-)))
Imagine a cold air intake and free flowing exhaust system, maybe a Bullydog performance chip! You could run NASCAR with that beast.
$2000 in simple add ons gets you over 1000 torque and 600 something horse.
It takes much more than tunes and deletes to break 600hp in these trucks. The factory turbo will NOT support 600hp.
Jake Russell true...let's add a turbo upgrade to the original poster's list...
With all the government restrictions if you remove them you're already making more hp. That's with any diesel.
Jorgen Wu Then you gotta upgrade the injectors, injector pump, fuel pump, after market intercooler. Then you gotta beef up the transmission because the stock trans max is about 600 horses and the torque will be around 1400+.
I just bought a 2015 f350 dually last week and smoked a Mercedes cls550 this weekend these trucks are super powerful for its size
I've never bought a Ford before, but I have been impressed with a lot of the products they've brought to the table recently. Their new Powerstroke does make a lot of power, but I personally would not consider a Ford diesel until they have proven their reliability a bit better.
So this thing is almost faster than a Accord i4, wow, very impressive, I was not expecting that
Yeah did you know it weighs almost 9,000 pounds too? It kind of makes a difference comparing it to a little honda that weighs like 2,500 pounds
I do wished Ford would make these available in the UK because our closest equivalent just sucks. However, I'm not talking about pouring millions into developing a right hand drive model for the UK, rather, doing what they did back in the late 60's and early 70's. Moron! Go troll someone else!

:..(
)
Very happy that ford didn't put a rev limiter on that diesel! Sounds awesome!
K.C.'s RC That's cuz their a damn piece of shit!
Mine's ain't. I don't care what you call me! Call me whatever the fuck you want! I DON'T GIVE A FLYING FUCK! IT DOESN'T HURT ME!
K.C.'s RC Again, call me what you want! It doesn't hurt me!
How can any honest person deny ford make the toughest trucks? They can't.....FACT
You have not presented a single fact
MrKeyboardCommando Haha winner of today's comments.
Easy! I had a 2012. Piece of shit. Grenaded the power stroke in less than 60 thousand km's. Not so tough! Thats the diesel however, I know nothing of their other trucks.
Cadillac Car Guy I want all my fans to know my new found fame won't affect me in the slightest. ;-)))
Ed ibleginch I hope you wised up and replaced it with an Inline 6 Cummins, they are bullet proof
there is a way to tell longterm longevity = owner
proper maintenance, working the diesel but not abusing it you should see long term use on it. 10 years no problem
Nathan we want to see that F350 on the mud, do an off road review
Hopefully Ford's Diesel Engine will bring a legacy as the 7.3L International that put Ford on the top of Heavy Duty Trucks. I might want to get my 2000 7.3L a new brother! Time will tell on Ford's engine.
The 6.7 has already proven reliable. It has had far less warranty claims than any 7.3 powerstroke design.
I was only aware of one recall on the 7.3L the cam sensor. I'm not against the 6.7L but like it or not it's still a new engine.... I really think myself that it's going to be Ford's 7.3L.

at one mile above sea level with this much weight and a stock tune that's ridiculous. at sea level try 6s.
Turbos almost negate all of the air density issues at altitude. Might be .2 faster at sea level
LeadBlastin22 no. The air being forced in is still thinner. Turbocharged engines still are way slower at high altitudes.
Awesome! But Why didn't you guys hook it up to the test boat for 0-60 also? Or are you saving that for the golden hitch awards?
The boat trailer was not available. :( Trailer needs work.
It's a very handsome looking truck...i'd love to see one in my driveway every morning...
I just got to the 0-60 part. That's a rather alarming acceleration rate for an 8000+ pound truck...just my opinion, don't hate. Hint.. When using a Cellphone as a timer... Don't worry about saying "point" X... There is zero accuracy in that method of timing..
exellent tests!!!!!
The good this about ford is they make the Diesel engine. Dodge dosent make the Cummins.
who said diesels are slow.. *cough* ecodiesel *cough*
Gee, what a worthless comment.
SurelyYewJest Couldn't agree more. Fanboy at its finest.
winning all the time is tough
Marc Monson Flex test...
its going to flex a lot when you loosen the carriage bolts. I highly doubt the legitimacy of that test
I didn't catch the msrp on that beast.. Do you have it? Thanks
About 60k
MSRP on this King Ranch model was $67,810.
+DerekT My buddy just picked up a 2016 Platinum dually for 63k out the door.
Nathan, come on. We get that you're running out of shirts, but a Daewoo shirt?! Never get that desperate again!
Wow, real impressive power numbers from that engine.
Maybe next time he'll wear the Yugo shirt.
lfsracer79 Oh man. May as well buy a Lada one and ship him that too!

Its 60 down on torque, that V8 diesel is a screamer to 4k rpms about. Makes a butt load of power, not surprised it was faster and Im a Ram guy.
when are you guys gonna test the ford f550?
I want my diesel to be loud!
Lol... sweet shirt!
Wearing a Daewoo Shirt, hahahhaha LOL
I once had a Daewoo television. It blew out in 9 months. I saw a Daewoo car in my condo's parking lot when it was only three months old and the valves were ticking so loud that it sounded like it was fifteen years old. 860 ft lbs holy shit
Put that engine into a Ford Fiesta, it'll 0-60 in 1 second lol
+tikiman48 or 0 seconds as it might just break the axle from all the torque lol
+chpman2013 true, but I'd think you'd put the f 350 axel on it
MrTONYTHEDRAGON
An F-350 axle into a Fiesta? Good luck with that Frankenstein-creation =P
+chpman2013 I mean your already craming a 6.7 v8 into a feista so fuck it
a fiesta probably weights close to the engine in the truck.
Nice shirt Nathan LOL :)
i wonder if they launch in 4 wheel drive or not
He said no

7.3 or 6.7
Wonder what that would do in an F-250?
Exactly the same motor is in the F250. Unless you choose the gas version
Producers make outrageous claims about their vehicles. I think you guys should dyno it.
NATE your shirt lol Love it, and you
if you look at all the other 0-60 times that puts it in 4th place out of 10 with the half ton trucks
www.tfltruck.com/tfltruck-hall-of-solo-0-60-mph/
Half ton? Are you kidding me? No shit dude dint you understand physics? Weight to power?
i have a great understanding of physics but thanks for asking. i dont see what the problem it..both the silverados have 20 less horsepower but the diesel weighs a few thousand pounds more...
I have no use for that truck but I want one anyway.
dchawk81 I know the feeling . . .
Garfield Thomas Your pants shifted too?
dchawk81
. . . hearing the engine growl and watching the gears fly through the first three ratios go me excited.
DRW trucks are much slower rather than SRW trucks, and that is a much well known fact my friends!!!!!!!!!!
Lol looks fun boys
daewoo t-shirt is funny :)
f350 is cool n fast but a bit ugly
ugly ? that's the best looking super duty version ever made
mohammadkwt I like RAMs 1500-3500
I like both ford & ram trucks they look great light duty or heavy/super duty , no offense but who say ford looks ugly makes him look stupid the real thing is that chevy HD they took a 1994 model & gave it new look it's like they are out designs

Because everyone buys a dually to do stoplight races.. Lol
Rip super duty next generation model looks disgusting.
Cadillac Car Guy Don't worry it will still out sell the GM junk.
Wildland North The looks definitely wont. Ugliest truck I've seen the original super duty was the greatest even this one looked good. New one not so much.
lully Mereezo
but its a ford
really slow
If that's slow, let's see you find another stock one ton truck go faster.
+Matthew Bell one ton? 4.5 tons
It's in the one ton class aka class 3 truck. Their actual weight is anywhere from 10k to 12k depending on the year.
Dude. Did you not hear the time? Or "THE FASTEST HEAVY DUTY TRUCK THEYVE TESTED?" Clean you fucking ears out. You don't want to be deaf as a post.
Bmw M3 e46 ..They need to test the Chevy 1 ton 0-60 in 6.04
3.73? That is really poor, especially when this truck is gonna tow all day for the rest of its life
What's wrong with a 3.73? All of the Big 3 usually have either a 3.73 or a 4.10 in their dually.
SurelyYewJest For a truck like this, it needs a 410 to tow better
At full throttle it was in 4th gear before it even got to 60mph. And you think it needs even shorter gears? optimal final drive gearing depends on several things, mainly transmission gearing, tire size, and engine rpm range.
It's offered in a 4.30 which gives it 3000 + additional towing capacity
So chill out tard
What's with the pathetic Daewoo t-shirt?
I'm sorry dude but was that the only clean shirt you had or did someone pay you to put that piece of shit cars shirt on? Even the fastest model Daewoo is a 10 second car personally anything above 8 secs is slow as shit for a everyday street car.
