I'm Mexican from California and it's so expensive out here, even though I make good money in electrical it's still expensive for me,I would like to go to Mexico City, great video 👏👏👏
I'm mexican from Tijuana, south of the border of San Diego so I know all about what you are talking about the cost of living. In La Condesa is the most expensive places to live in Mexico City for native mexicans. That's why is common to see a lot of your fellow americans living there.
I wasn’t familiar with your channel until now. I must say, from what I heard you say in Spanish, you speak with an impeccable Mexico City, middle to upper class accent. If you were surrounded by white Mexicans and were talking with them, I would never be able to pick you out as anything other than Mexican like the rest. Very impressive, high quality Spanish.
In my city Monterrey I have seen many migrate from other states of Mexico because it is the city where companies pay more, for example in 7eleven you earn about 88 USD and in Monterrey 7eleven pays 150 USD per week, in turn this helps because they send money to their families in their state and it does not affect anyone because in fact there are so many vacancies in all sectors from working in construction to being a director of large companies like Walmart but I have also seen Mexicans returning from the United States to Mexico, Argentines, Colombians, gringos, Spaniards and in smaller numbers Germans and Japanese, I am not used to seeing so many foreigners
Wow heard Monterey is the richest state in Mexico also beautiful, thanks for the info ,$150 a week is good ,I make $2500 in my profession as an electrician in California and it's still expensive for me 👏👏👏
@@JoseRamos-hz5fc The electricians here earn between 150USD and 250USD, but the most experienced ones can earn up to 500USD, it all depends on how good you are
I love Mexico city. Traffic isn't an issue for me, because i get around fine. The number one con for me is the air contamination. It's the only reason i won't plan to stay in Mexico city long term.
If you are coming to live to my country in a legally way, all I asked is for you to respect our traditions, music, dances, schools, people, animals, law, everything mate. You know there’s been some “upheaval” about foreigns (specially US citizens) coming to leave here and been mean, gentrification, use of drugs, etc. Other than that, very welcome, I hope you get to eats the beast meals we have to offer, have fun in our parties and learn a lot about us and why not?, add good Mexican habits to your own daily routine 🇲🇽
😮Sos perfectamente bilingüe! Cada vez que te escucho quedo impresionada! Sos un genio! Un capo! Mexico debe ser hermoso! Me dan ganas de conocer! Algun día... Esta en mí bucket 🪣 list ! 😅
Mexico and the United States are not the same. They are from the same northern continent but not the same politics. nor the customs, traditions or food. Well, it is a country very, very far from being the United States. Well it's a new house.
I love the Mexican culture but what you described sounds like a great lifestyle for a non married person with no children. Great place to be in your twenties. Love the videos.
There are many great places to be at in your 20s. Due to all the violent crime in Mexico it's a different story if you have kids. Unfortunately Mexico never does anything about this.
It’s actually good for every age , 64 here and feel happier, safer in Mexico, no anxiety like I was having in San Francisco or LA , your opinion is myopic
@@gildardoenriquebarajas4540 May I ask where you live and why you feel safer? Mexico is a very dangerous country. Obviously it's easier as an adult to live there than having children. But I would assume you are mostly confined to certain neighborhoods (or possibly gated community) to remain safe.
The word gentrification has unfortunately been misused in the context of foreigners moving to upscale areas in the city. Gentrification has a very specific meaning and applies to the development of poor, run-down urban areas by those with resources. Locals will inevitably be displaced. It does not apply to wealthy, chic neighborhoods where only relatively wealthy Mexicans and foreigners alike can afford to live.
$tupidest comment I ever read. Who said it only applied to the poor? Middle/upper class mexicans were displaced by Americans in the "chic" neighborhoods you're talking about.
@pablolimo8481 I considered Querétaro before. But the living cost there has gone up significantly. Are there certain neighborhoods you can recommend? It used to be much cheaper
It’s cost of living mate. Other reasons are insignificant. Let’s be honest here. If costs of living in Canada and the US are comparable back to the 90’s, 99% of people won’t move out. I mean are you really trying to get a job in Mexico and get pay in their local currency? Of course not
Cost of living is of course great for foreigners in Mexico City. However if my girlfriend weren’t from here, I’d be living in California still to be close to family and friends. Saludos.
Really? Have you been to Mexico? How about Mexico City? Compare to LA, with all the people addicted to drugs screaming at you at every corner, the highly deficient public transportation smelling of urine and vomit, the dirty disgusting streets, the horrible consumerism, the abandoned infrastructure… they are building the subway line since more than 3 years ago… still don’t finish, a city not even close to the culture richness to Mexico City. Now look at the federal government, our is making us proud… I guess you can’t say that about the clown you chose, it’s a horrible government for inside and outside. The US is the richest country of the world and it is so failed!!!! What a shame! No money could convince me that the US is a better place to live.
@@gabrielacrit876 Both countries have their plusses and minuses. I would say that, in spite of having an abundance of sketchy areas, the USA definitely edges out Mexico in the personal security area. However, Mexico definitely wins out over the USA and takes the prize when it comes to everyday wealth of culture and a much richer social life.

Being a professional and speaking another language gives you a good paying job in Mexico mate ! Having lived in the USA for 45 years and my partner being a gringo and us living in Mexico now is beyond the cost of living, try living in downtown LA or in San Francisco and compare it to living in Mexico City and you will immediately feel the change of mood and energy, no crazy violent crack heads all over the streets and sidewalks, you probably would want to answer by saying that Mexico is violent because of cartels but mate , you have to look for trouble to even find them, so sorry to say but Anglo ( including Canadian) societies are in decline and you obviously look for a scapegoat to blame for your violence and drug problems, have a good day “ MATE” 😊
This gentrification thing is hilarious except people belive it. Like 23 million people in Mexico City. Roma Norte Coyoacan Polanco and Condessa is where US people think they are pushing pricing people out. But why are they here? The expat got priced pushed out of California or wherever they came from. I live in Mexico City love not being around people from the US. Avoid centro and the above areas and you never see them
The biggest issue for me was always cleanliness. You have to be careful about what you eat and where. I brought a group of cousins here and every male got sick with a stomach bug. You can get a good antibiotic at a local pharmacy.
It's not because the food is dirty or bad, it's because of the change of food, your stomach is not used to it. The same thing happened to me when I was in London for two months.
Suggestion: Change that " Done with the US" title. It comes off as very disrespectful at first glance. Whenever you say you are " Done" with a place or person it means you want nothing to do with it.
mexican here, lived in mexico city for grad school. i get why ppl get angry at it. finding a decent apartment for the right price is impossible but we dont think you guys are the problem. the problem is urban planning
Yo tambien estoy pensando en moverme afuera de los estados unidos. Creo que no hay un futuro aqui para mi. Ademas es mas barato en el pais de mi padre. Como dijiste, puedo vivir como un rey.

The bad news, you're still in America. Actually still North America.
When people refer to America, they refer to the U.S.A. not the continent.
The word "estadonidense" doesn't exist in english, rather it's "American".

I agree 😂. Atleast there's alot of green trees to help filter out the pollution lol
