Great series of videos on this . I am currently in the process of doing this exact thing. With the gelcoat process... Do you intend on spraying it, or rolling in on? If your spraying. What kinda of spray gun do you use?
I'd like to spray it but the only gel I have sprayed so far has been thinned out which affects the color. I may try to just roll it. Or I may take it somewhere to have that final step done
@@TheOffCycle it was more cost effective for me because I could buy it locally and not have to pay for shipping. But it was almost 3 years ago so I have no idea how much it costs now.
I have a transom on a Sea ray Laguna that looks identical I was just curious about how far the actual wood crossed the transom in width, from corner to corner or did it taper and stop?
No way, everything about going coosa other than weight is inferior to this. Coosa wouldn't be a solid piece, you will have air voids no matter how you do it, especially around the edges, coosa strips out very easily. It's funny that people rave about coosa and crap on poured transoms but coosa is literally a foam that starts out as a liquid😂

I used Arjay 6011 when I poured my transom. I’ve been happy with it so far.
Similar but that stuff was quite a bit more expensive.

@@josephwhitehead1692that stuff has tripled in price in the last few yrs. I got the carbon bond locally and paid no freight. $254 a pail.

It goes all the way to just before where the bend starts at the edges. About as wide as the gelcoat is removed on the edges.
How much hardener did you use per bucket, I'm looking at about 85 degrees when I pour.
I think it was about 185cc. 6oz
d have just gotten coosa board
