  • Stevie Nicks became an icon as the frontwoman of Fleetwood Mac in the 1970s. These days, she’s having an unexpected resurgence on Boho TikTok. What TikTok creators may not know is that Stevie is one of the most important women in music history, with a killer wardrobe to boot.
    What’s most notable about Stevie is that her aesthetic has stayed consistent despite changing trends. Her look is all about gauzy, light fabrics, billowy long dresses heaped with lace, velvet, and tapestry for luxurious texture. Stevie often sings about magical women who are out of this world, so it is to be expected that her style would reflect a hint of mysticism.
    In this week’s episode of Thrift the Legend, Diana tries on the iconic songstress’ style, which has been inspiring the latest collections from designers like Chloe and Reem Acra.

    In our latest series Thrift The Legend, Bustle Art Director Diana Weisman is taking inspiration from the icons, real and imagined, to see if she can create their looks using only thrifted items.
    Special thanks to Buffalo Exchange for hosting Diana on her thrift hunt.
    This series was filmed in February 2020, prior to the implementation of social distancing guidelines nationwide.

    If Stevie saw this video she would be happy because the message Stevie Nicks has always put out is do what makes you happy!

    Sorry and no offense intended but, Stevie wouldn't be caught DEAD in any of those rags. They look nothing like her style.

    The lace detailed jacket outfit was nice! Stevies outfits were created in the 70s so a course she was not able to captures Stevies look completly. I like it

    Wtf is witchcore? It's called being a witch. That's such a bad title, considering it is a practice.

    • @angelikabatwoman
      @angelikabatwoman 3 роки тому +9

      well you can not be a witch and still like that kind of style. and you can be a witch and NOT like that style. so i think it's good that there is a name for that aesthetic.

    • @kutubeg
      @kutubeg 3 роки тому +4

      Right? Being a witch isn’t an aesthetic lmao. Especially when its literally apart of multiple POC cultures.

    • @kutubeg
      @kutubeg 2 роки тому +2

      @@peachyskeleton7484 i never said it was only apart of POC culture, but considering that anti-witchcraft/ritualistic practices is deeply rooted in white supremacy, POC who practice witchcraft faced and still face more problems than a white person.

      Witch core is an actual thing. You don't have to dress in lace and velvet to be a witch. But you can of you want. A lot of witches wear bright clothes.. Its all personal. I happen to do both. 😘

    I mean no. Those fits were so uninspiring and hardly emulate the iconic witchcore queen Stevie Nicks, like no shawls, chiffon or robe like dresses?

    I have a lot of Stevie style clothes. My granddaughter loves to play dress up with them.

    Not very Stevie Nicks, except for that glorious lace top with the bell sleeves that I would seriously think bad thoughts about getting, but frankly I loved all the outfits. Wish my thrift store had such things. My thrift store has mostly fashions a stripper, drag queen or 70 year old woman would wear.😒

    (other than once or twice), Stevie NEVER wore a skirt shorter than ankle length. this isn't Stevie at all. 👎

  • @fabulousat40beauty
    @fabulousat40beauty Рік тому

    Baby the first style is a no. The second the top is ok but the skirt has got to go. Third is ok but not stevie vibe. You have to layer and use bold print and very flowy, Bell sleeves

    Like...like.... like.. using the word "like" in every sentence really indicates you don't have much to say or lack a vocabulary. It's so annoying and the people who do this are inevitably young and ... boring.
