Die-cast model construction Trabant Limousine XXXL. Extending the car. Custom design.

Today I am doing another modification of the Trabant model in scale 1: 64. This time a very long limousine was created. I showed in the video how to strengthen the body so that it is stable after such a long extension. I also made the side windows and the rear window and additional seats for 12 people plus the driver. You can enable subtitles with commentary in your language in the video. It was a very big challenge to make the suspension for such a car. I decided to add one axle to strengthen the undercarriage at the rear. I also made an additional door for comfortable boarding from the passenger side. I adapted wheels from a different chassis, also in a scale of 1 to 64. To give them an exclusive character, I chrome-plated them with bumpers and a Trabant dummy. To complete the whole, I made a dedicated box in the style of boxes for Matchbox models from the 70s. Ostatnio byłem w Dreźnie w 2010 roku i widziałem "limuzynę Trabi" w oryginale. (Pomalowany jednak na biało) Pomyślałem sobie wtedy, jak wspaniale musiałby wyglądać taki model...
Teraz, 12 lat później, nadszedł ten czas. Bardzo niezwykłe dzieło, jestem zachwycona. Wydłużenie nadwozia, zawieszenie z drutu "majorette" i reflektory z kamieniami brokatowymi. Szczegółowe wnętrze i szlachetny czarny lakier, łącznie z chromowanymi felgami, po prostu genialny 😎

The last time I was in Dresden in 2010, I saw the original "Trabi limousine". (Painted white, though) I thought to myself at the time how great a model of it would have to look....
Now, 12 years later, it's reality. A very extraordinary work, I'm thrilled. The lengthening of the body, the "majorette" wire suspension and the glitter stone headlights. The detailed interior and the noble black paintwork, including the chrome rims, simply ingenious 😎

Als ich 2010 das letzte Mal in Dresden war, habe ich die "Trabi-Limousine" im Original gesehen. (Allerdings weiß lackiert) Ich dachte mir damals, wie toll müsste ein Modell davon aussehen...
Nun, 12 Jahre später ist es soweit. Eine ganz außergewöhnliche Arbeit, ich bin begeistert. Die Verlängerung der Karosserie, die "Majorette" Drahtbügelfederung und die Glitzerstein Scheinwerfer. Die detaillierte Inneneinrichtung und die edle schwarze Lackierung, samt den Chromfelgen, einfach nur genial 😎

Love the conversion. In the real world the original engine, with a full load, couldn’t get it out of a pothole. Extend engine bay to take, at the very least, a 3.0 litre engine. Or a small block Chev.

This is absolutely a brilliant customizing, an extended Trabant. The extra rear axcel is a brilliant idea, certainly not superfluous. In real life, however, the drivetrain should also be revised, especially the engine! Apart from that, it has become a wonderful model.
