- Watch Lee Harvey Osmond cover The Tragically Hip's 'Fiddler's Green' for a LIVE at SiriusXM session at Dine Alone Records Store in Toronto.
A wonderfully heartfelt and poignant tribute. We all loved Gord and the madness he shared with us.
“Wow. That’s a great fuckin’ name man.”
- planet earth.
Thank you for this heartfelt tribute for one of my favourite Hip songs and the saddest song that I know.
I'm not crying. You're crying.
What an extraordinary tribute. Gord and The HIP will forever live in my heart. He is deeply missed. Thanks fellas!! That was just perfect.
The greatest tribute to Gord there has been. And there hasn't been enough....
Well done Bro. Sing from your heart and you can never do wrong.
Out-freaking-standing!
What a masterpiece!
Thanks so much 🙏 ❤
To me...Tom is in the same stratosphere as beloved Gord!
We are lucky to have both amazing musical poets, even if it's mostly Canadians that got immersed in their talent.
Love you both Tom and Gordon!
One poet to another, a word painter, haging a picture of a peer on the wall.....
Being a fan of both Tom and The Hip, this was amazing for me. Both make me proud to be Canadian.
Everyone should watch this 1000 times
I believe I have lol I am from Kingston and this hits home. I saw him do this live at BluesFest a few years back. Inwas just going to the washroom and came across him doing this from the start. Gord is forever in our hearts.
At first, I thought a cover of Fiddler's would be sacrilege. This is incredible and even more poignant with the reading from his book. ~ Hey man, thanks!
Don't think I've seen a better tribute to Gord Downie and The Hip. Awesome, Sir. Thank you.
The video brings tears to the eye... Who else but you Sir - Mr.Osmond, could have produced such a spectacular tribute to the late great Gordon Downy? ... Nobody! EXCELLENT 👍 Video Sir! Hats off to you!
I can't overstate how much I love this.
Thank you Canada, for bringing the Hip to the world and sharing them with us. Happy Canada Day!
Wonderful tribute to Gord and The Tragically Hip, incredieble version of Fiddler's Green.
Such a powerful tribute that really hits home for this Hip fan. Many thanks.
Love it ... props to the keyboard player.
I could not love this more 💔😥❤️
Thank you for this. Just... thank you.
pure Canadianna. what a great video, read, presentation. Buy the Book, it is a great read...Scars are beautiful
sometimes I really hate this town, but things like this remind me why its still great and why I havent left.
Very potent. Wonderful tribute. Song well crafted cover too. Piano intro has "she talks to angels" energy, now I want to hear a mashup.
Great honour to Gord and te Hip. Shout out to the keys
🤜🏻❤️🤛🏻
Dude! Fanfu%^ingtastic!!!
Thanks man that was great. I miss them all
Beautiful. Thank you.
Gord would very very rarely play this song live at concerts. Got to see him play it once in Kanata. I’ve seen them live more than a dozen times.
Also lucky enough to see them do it live in London one night
We wouldn’t dare make eye contact, but the boys and I were all weeping
Just found this today... thank you man
I'm in love with this man's voice! What a fantastic tribute to Gord and the hip
You too, eh? I think I could listen to him read the phone book. Tom Wilson is a Canadian legend and his life's story is utterly moving.
Hauntingly beautiful heartache... what more can I say other than Thank you
A Treasure!
Thank you good sir, thank you very much indeed.
God. Damn. That is some potent stuff.
Amazing… I have no words
👏
A message of remembrance of today
One of my most favourite songs ever.... thanks.
Well, this is legit,
This is a gem ❤
Goosebumps ❤️🇨🇦❤️🙏🏼
"Princess Street Rounders" right to my soul!
INCREDIBLE! Thanks Tom!
Amazing, Tom. Rave on.
Beautiful. Thank you
Thank you 🙌❤️🙌
Wow, he came really close to having a famous name.
It’s the name of his band, he is Tom Wilson
@@camtheham13 That's pretty funny.
@@johnbrowne3950 they pulled a Marilyn Manson…
or a Daisy Berkowitz / Madonna Wayne Gacy…
Some of us remember Donny and Marie Osmond on their ridiculously wholesome TV show…
I just pick a song...and then, close my eyes.
Incredible 💞
That was absolutely sublime, took not a few moments for my eyes to dry enough to type. Thanks very much for this.
Hey man thanks.
Tears
This is the most amazing video I've ever seen. Thank you! TTH
Absolutely beautiful Tom! Thanks for this. Been watching hip videos all day and this is a fitting end to the day.
I miss Gord 😥
It seems Gord made a special impact on anyone that met him face to face kinda wish I had
Excellent!
I’d love to hear this man tell me more stories from the road. It’s poetic and perfect.
He sings it completely differently and somehow it just as perfect.
wow
This second TTH album has some really pretty moments that feel more Country and Celtic inspired…. Fiddler’s Green is more minstrelsy…
They took this more dynamic and layered subtle aesthetic much farther on their trippy 4th and 5th albums, but the first three albums seem much more commercially formatted… a tendency which I believe record company tried to re-impose at various times in their long recording career, never producing their best songs and also never helping them break very big in the US market.
** Also worth mentioning, Road Apples is the album Daniel Lanois showed up to help the band a bit… No doubt a good influence.
Wow
Nice work!!
Beautiful and poetic recounting of your shared time.
And a beautiful rendition.
Thank you.
Wow...great fkn story...i see hollerado..soundgarden and i think sloan albums on the wall...cool as fk....
💟 🎩
Like he is reading from the book of life
Damn…
Gord eh.
What book is he reading?
"Beautiful Scars" by Tom Wilson (singer of this band).
his autobiography - Tom Wilson (aka LeE HARveY OsMOND) also in the band Blackie and the Rodeo Kings....
I heard this shortly after it came out. Grace Too came on the radio today and this reading....Tom Wilson and his amazing voice came to my mind immediately for some reason. I'm glad it did because I totally forgot Tom's haunting rendition of Fiddler's Green.
It's things like this that make me so proud to be a Canadian.
Thank you Tom Wilson.
Missing Gord and The Hip.😩
@@djpalmer7155 he was also a founding member of Junkhouse in the mid 90s
