We miss ya so much Gord, not the same without ya. Tear up everytime I hear this song. Always blessed we got the time with ya that we did. Canada isnt the same nor will it be without ya. God bless The Hip and Gord Downie!
As a father, this song - and particularly this performance of it, eight months before Downie passed away from brain cancer that was already affecting his mind, and during a live broadcast concert that shut Canada down - hits so very hard. That he was able to get through this goodbye tour - yes! a tour! - in his condition, and give the fans such an incredible gift... heartbreaking and inspiring all at the same time. Truly phenomenal.
Well said, what an incredible mental and spiritual strength he had to do that even though his body was giving out. It strikes at the question, "What do you want to accomplish in life and what do you want to do with it knowing your days are numbered?" Gord knew his answer to that question. He gave to others himself, his gift of performance and love of creating music. At the same time, he demonstrated a strength of character rarely ever seen, a true inspiration to us all. RIP Gord, your music and legacy lives on in the hearts and minds of your many fans, friends and family.
My best friend was the biggest Hip fan I know. They played this song at my friends funeral. Both my friend and Gord share the same last song, I will never listen to this song the same. RIP my friends.
I kept it together during the final show, until they started playing this one. It is my fav Hip song, and the call out to his sister Char just really got me....sooooo glad Gord had it in him to perform it one last time, and I have no idea how he kept it together. RIP Gord
love this song and gord is my idol...he brought me through 2019 . i had the same surgeon and im still kicking. 2020 and 2021 moves me through nothings changed anyway. luv you gord

Such a loss. I got to see him in 2013. What a party. Took my son for his 19th birthday gift. The Hip spans generations.
Even in brain cancer the emotion behind his voice, body language is incredible..some things you never forget

K-Rock Centre Kingston Ontario Canada It's now known as the Leon's Centre
Oufff 😞
I see we have a dislike.... who let the American guy watch this video?
Wouldn’t be any of us from the Detroit area. The Hip were welcomed with open arms here everytime they visited. #gordfuckingdownie
Canada went to absolute shit after Gord left.
Gord would be ashamed of Trudeau
