Joy joy for Christ is born.
Breathtaking
Wow, the cello and the bass oboe sounded MARVELOUS together. What a start to a great performance that made me cry.
English horn is its name. :) It was wonderful--that is a very difficult instrument to play!
Ronica Skarphol Brownson
Thank you.
Not gonna lie...I got a bit choked up towards the middle.
I keep watching the opening. The way the English horn player slowly walks in, the sound coming with her, the look on her face. Amazing. Amazing performance throughout.
Agreed. Best opening ever
wow. the power of music. just beautiful. Needed this today.
My dear Military Air Force Band Brothers and Sisters: Thank you for your service, and thank you for providing wonderful music!! I REALLY LOVED IT!!! I spent 30 years as a US NAVY NURSE CORPS Officer based in San Diego then Hawaii, and I originally wanted to join the Air Force after I got out of Nursing School...long story short, I made many friends while I was overseas that were Air Force Medical personnel. I have the highest respect for our military brothers and sisters, but I especially love the Air Force orchestra/Band!!!! Thank you for putting this on even tho it's a year old but hey....it's all good.. God bless you, keep you all safe...Many Blessings and HOOYAH!!!
Captain Robert R Martin RN
US NAVY NURSE CORPS RETIRED
Thank you so much for your service!
Captain Martin, I appreciate your sentiment. I am a former HM3 who served in DaNang during the war in that country. It was my privilege to serve with outstanding surgeons and many Navy nurses. The Medical Corps and Nursing Corps, along with my enlisted brothers in the Hospital Corps, are some of the finest human beings I've ever known. May God Bless all of them, and may God bless you! Oh, by the way, the U.S. Navy Band is a group of some pretty darned good musicians too!
This is amazing.
I can imagine being there in person. God bless you all. Thank you.,♡♡♡
GOD BLESS AMEICA;
greetings from Germany
I volunteered for the muesum yesterday. So proud and honored to have been able to be a part of this! USAF Band is amazing.
The power of music brings us altogether
Agreed!
When the Female Chorus began singing , I got a huge chill --This has to be one of the BEST Flash Mob Appearances I've ever witnessed
With all the glass and metal in this huge exhibit hall, the acoustics must be amazing. I would have loved to have experienced this in person. A few lucky people did.
i was there
@@ronaldstanfield319, I ENVY you! Just in the first 10 seconds gives me chills. This is my FAVORITE piece of music of all time and I would have given anything to be able to see this in person. My question to you is; Was the people there AWARE that this was going to happen? I see a lot of surprised looks but there's also people that APPEAR to know it's coming? It's a BEAUTIFUL PERFORMANCE by the United States Air Force! I am a U.S. Navy veteran who appreciates ALL BRANCHES OF THE ARMED FORCES AND IS EXTREMELY GRATEFUL FOR THEIR DEDICATION AND SERVICE so that WE HAVE THE FREEDOM THAT TOO MANY PEOPLE TAKE FOR GRANTED. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL READERS! GOD BLESS EACH AND EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU.
@@danseitsinger6737 A number of folks "connected" with the band (Friends, family, etc.) were present and they knew it was coming but it was not announced publicly and band members wore "civilian" coats to hide their uniforms until the last minute, so many (most?) of those present did not know it was happening until the music started. It was truly beautiful to be there in person. The reactions of the many children present were priceless! Thank you for your service, sir!
@@garrettswoodworx1873, first, you're very welcome for my service. I was one of those PEACETIME GUYS who only had to worry about did we cook enough TURKEY AND DRESSING to feed the crew on Thanksgiving!🤔🙄 As for the FLASH MOB, I saw some of those cute and adorable faces in the crowd and was envious of each one! I just wished that everyone would appreciate what the MEN AND WOMEN IN UNIFORM do for THEIR COUNTRY and show them that WE ARE ETERNALLY GRATEFUL FOR THEIR DEDICATION AND SERVICE! Nobody wants a war. But, it's better to go TO THE WAR than to have the war COME HERE! I hope that you had a GREAT Xmas! I also hope that you have a SAFE AND HEALTHY 2022!
Priceless. Brings me to tears. Thank you so very much.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Fantastic, I love the Untied States, great country.
Let's invade more innocent countries for their oils, and if they defend themselves, we'll call them terrorists!!! ... aaah, America. The land of the 'free'.
Sometimes I feel as if your typo is appropriate given these times we're in currently. The Untied States is more appropriate

@John T cringeeeeeee
@UCUf2LzlLgG4IhDEinXyMYsQ not a student of History clearly. At least get your facts straight if we wanted oil in Iraq we would have taken it or any place else but we did not you're just a lying piece of s***
My band teacher showed us this years ago in high school and I still have never forgotten it
Spiritually uplifting. What the world needs!!!!!!!
Tears in my eyes and goosebumps!....
Thanks!
I've never been more proud to be veteran of the US Air Force Band Program. (1968-72). Thank you all.
Watching this has become one of my traditions at the start of the holiday season. I get goosebumps and cry every time. Those visitors were so blessed to have been there.
My band teacher showed me this video once and I come back to it every year. What a beautiful performance. The military’s bands are truly gifted.
This is the right way to transform the world. Playing and sining to God in large growing groups sharing with others your best with true love and giving happiness you surely will receive multiple blessings from God and the peapple around you Merry Christmas.
The smile on the mother holding her two little ones is priceless!!! Our Armed Forces' musical organizations at posts, camps and stations, here in DC and around the world, are worth their weight in gold!!!
Thank you so much!
Thank you all so much for inviting me to this amazing event. Becky and the team - you guys rock!!
Wow NEEDED THIS TODAY MORE THAN EVER BEFORE
Thanks for watching!
Words cannot express the beauty of this music and performance.... thank you to the USAF Band for a spectacular "flash mob".... you've spoiled us and we'll now expect this each year!
What a treat for people visiting the museum that Day, I'm sure they will never forget , memories for life,
That's awesome AMERICAN SPIRIT
Enjoying this for the Annunciation. 9 months till Christmas
Brilliant! Thank you, USAF Band, for your talent, dedication, commitment, and service!
So much respect for them and all man and woman wearing uniform. Beautiful, God bless them all.
Would give anything to see with my father once more, it was the highlight of our Christmas! He was military for over 28 years, while I married a military man also, career. Just once more, this one is for you dad! Thinking of you..
Thank you all for your service!
Just as good or even maybe better than last year, I could listen to them all during the Christmas season, so perhaps I better save this video and have it to open up every day until New Year's. God bless America!
This band did a bus tour of Upstate NY and New Jersey in April 2018. The performance at my local high school was amazing- during a few numbers, they included some high school musicians, too. We loved it!
It is so wonderful to see so many of the same faces from last year. I have never been more proud to have served in The United States Air Force. 381 SMW, SAC McConnell AFB, Wichita, KS 1964 through 1970.
Thank you for putting tears of pride in an old man's eyes
Thank God! A traditional Christian opening hymn! Well done thou good and faithful servants!
I'm very proud and honored to be able to say I played with this select group of people just a few weeks ago, we played black horse troop. I remember sitting next to Technical Sergeant Micah, very amazing group of people
Thank you very much for sharing your talents and gifts with us. God bless you.😊❤
incredible performance......shows without a doubt that music is one of the most powerful forces known to, and wielded by man
They are wonderful. I wonder if they could perform this to citizens in the small towns in rural america. Places that have never experienced seeing performances from a complete orchestra or band. It should be a project of the different branches of service of the military. To perform in the towns that have not once seen them perform but have provided their young residents to serve in the military.
Have you checked out The United States Army Field Band Adonis Alamban ? Great video Air Force!
The United States Army Field Band The new Army Field Band video is fantastic. You should definitely watch it: ua-cam.com/video/0DYxiSC6w6s/v-deo.html
Both presentations are great. I hope these bands could do a presentation in small towns in remote places, like the one I lived, here in Parker, Az. People here might not have seen complete bands perform. At least not in the six Christmas seasons or Veterans days that I've lived here.
Adonis Alamban The service bands travel quite frequently to play in towns such as yours. Please keep checking the website to find out when our specific band will be there. Also, our sister service bands often travel as well so frequent their websites also. Here is ours: www.usafband.af.mil
Thanks.
Pieces of Great music have always been themed around religious devotion. I honestly do not believe that Christmas music will ever be removed from our national scene, no matter how hard it is pushed to do so. Too many people love it and will always enjoy it.
I don't know why people have problem with it. We can all sing about "Puff the Magic Dragon" ... doesn't mean we believe he exists.
Whoever first thought of this 'flash mob' idea deserves our heartfelt gratitude, Especially rewarding is the way it captivates young children who sit and stare in wonder. I get a bit of a kick out of it myself!
Fascinating how the USAF Band reinvents itself again and again! Bravo! Encore!
Thanks!
Thank you all for your service.
What a joy and honor it would be to be there on the day(s) they play this Christmas music. What fine, excellent musicians they have in the Air Force. Would have loved to be there to see this in person. Almost worth going to DC.
Hearing this and seeing this everytime reminds me it's all about the magic and amazement of that time of the year.
THANKS!
Super, Unique Musical Presentation by the USAF Band. You have to watch this!
Beautiful...USAF Band! Thank You! Merry Christmas to you all.
Absolutely beautiful. Reminded me of High school in the late 70's, Clovis West High School. When not the USAF, but the United States Marine Band performed in our gym. I was at awe with them too. It made me proud of this country. These men and women not only would drop there instruments, to defend our freedoms, but also entertain us with so much talent. Very we'll done and thanks to all who have and are currently serving in the armed forces.
Just wonderful!! God bless tothode men and women in
Thank you so much!
OUTSTANDING as always...great flash mobs every Christmas. USAF rocks...
This is amazing!!! Everyone is really talented!!!! I didnt know the Air Force had a band!
I've had the privilege to see the USAF Band and Singing Sergeants in person twice (in Michigan), and hope that after this sad chapter in our lives is resolved, that I'll be able to see them again. I am now a groupie.
What a stroke of genius to share this magnificent space with all of its priceless treasures as a wonderful concert call for the USAF Band! Beautiful music, beautiful spacecraft, and a wonderful way to start off December. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Seasons Greetings, and Good Tidings to all. Thank you, USAF Bands!
Thank you so much for providing this amazing talent in such a special place. Americans everywhere should be proud.
OH MY GOD!!! I have been here as my Grandfather's name is on the wall outside. To say the acoustics made this sound amazing is an understatement!!! I have goose mountains and was moved to tears! Now if I can only be there in person when they pull these surprises off!
OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE!!!!!!!! I always loved the USAF Band and TOPs in Blues performances when my spouse was active duty. Retired USAF 06. I look forward to more of their performances. Such precision!!!! Salute to everyone!
Go USAF! The USAF is so awesome. Love you guys.
Wow! Marching English Horn! Beautiful! I'm glad the hot cellist is back!
Goosebumps. Merry Christmas everyone!
Outstanding! Bob McCann - USAF 1968-1972
Goosebumps! Such an incredible display!
Thanks!
Amazing that these musicians and vocalists performed flawlessly without a sheet of music! Impressive to say the least. Beautifully performed.
Still love this performance in 2019!
this was really awesome, lets stay with music, and start to stop wars, lets pray more and ask god for peace throughout the world! an American who loves his country! pzsr
Proud of our USAF!!!! Well done videographers & sound!
I wish people would stop leaving negative comments and just enjoy the music.
Couldn't have said it any better myself great and beautiful thank
Glad you enjoyed it!
I'm proud of my country United States of America ♥️♥️♥️♥️
We are too. ❤️
I love seeing the shuttle in the background. We were fortunate enough to visit the museum prior to game 4 of the World Series for the Nats last year. Having spent 12 years working at the Kennedy Space Center, seeing shuttle in person the first time in so many years was very rewarding. I love all of those birds! OV-102 (Columbia), OV-103 (Discoverer), Ov-104 (Atlantis) and OV-105 (Endeavour). Challenger (which we lost) was OV-099.
It's such a neat museum. We are very lucky to have it in such close proximity to our home base. Thanks for watching!
This is the best music I have heard in a long time., It brought me to tears. God Bless our Service Men and Women. MSgt, USAF, Retired at 79 years old.
One day..the whole world will praise HIM! This was a great presentation. Thanks to all who made it possible and MERRY CHRISTMAS
Awesome! I love it. Wonderful performance. Thank you so much to you all and your service in our country. God bless you all ❤️🙏
You've made my Christmas a time of joy, wonder and tearful delight! Thank you. Again.
I am so proud of our military. They can do everything from fight wars to make beautiful music.
Thanks!
Really amazing. Thank you USAF band.
Awesome! I am now officially in the Christmas spirit despite the news....!!!
As part of the original security team at UDVAR HAZY. The holidays were always extremely special there
Thanks for helping out!
absolutely beautiful.
Wow. Fabulous. Moving. Stirring. Thank you.
Thank you this has been a top presentation by excellent musicians and the best we have heard in many years Leslie and Tricia Bingham-Rolls
Acoustics in a large hanger require precision playing way beyond normal. Our community band played concerts in the Evergreen Air and Space Museum in McMinnville, OR and swore I could still hear the first note we played rattling around the B-17 on display. USAF did a marvelous job. I love the looks on the children.
They are wonderful. How blessed were the people there that day? I'd give anything to be treated to something that beautiful at the Holiday time and I know it would be a memory and a day I would never forget. Thank you for sharing.
So wonderful!! Thank you for your hard work and dedication. You make us proud!
Merry Christmas and HappyNew Year!
Last year's 'flash mob' was fantastic! This year, oh my - they've outdone themselves. I love the drums, the creativity, and the arrangement is pure genius. Angels from heaven came down to earth to amaze us with this wonderful performance. Really world-class musicians and singers. Well done USAF. I knew they were performing yesterday. How I wish I was there to see this live..
Another great performance by our ladies and gentlemen in uniform!
Love this concert..Just what we all need to hear virtually this year. Thank you for a beautiful concert. Merry Christmas
Happy holidays!
@@TheUSAFBand Merry Christmas that wasn't just a holiday
@@TheUSAFBand I am reminded that Palestinians called the recent observation of Yom Kippur by Israelis as a local holiday.
Absolutely fantastic. If you don't get misty over this you have no heart..
excellent ! this makes me wanna come to the US and spend Christmas with someone one day.
My band teacher showed us this in class yesterday and I found it truly incredible and amazing!!! I love it!!!! Awesome job!!!
Finally, our tax dollars put to good use. It's not just the wonderful performance that touches the heart...its the look of delight and wonder on the faces of the people who got an unexpected concert...with RELIGIOUS seasonal music...thank you, USAF. Superb.
I was in a very large military band. (5th Army Band)We played for presidents and royalty, but we also played in many, many small towns. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
I am military person who is a good move forward in the end
🇺🇸
Amazing what a wonderful band/orchestra can do. Brings a tear to my eyes.
Thanks for watching!
The Udvar-Hazy Center ---lots of fond memories of this wonderful part of the Smithsonian.
WONDERFUL! Beautiful music changes everything!
I love it! Thank for your performance and your service.
Now THAT is awesome! I can't imagine how amazing it must have sounded to those in attendance. What a treat!
This song always gives me chills! Our military bands are so awesome and talented!
2013 flash mob was an amazing start. 2015 reminiscently special and 2016.... But this one, 2014, is epic. I appreciate the more recent performances for their diversity and creativity, but stick to your guns USAF. No one else does this - this 2014 performance is the USAF band at their finest. Either way, you are amazingly talented service members. Thank you.
A song to honor Jesus Christ...Thank you, USAF, for fighting with God. Bless you all.
That was a wonderful show by our USAF-Thanks to all of them
After watching this incredible performance dozens of times it still moves me. Thank you, USAF Band!
Am a member of the USAF I say Merry Christmas to all
A beautiful "Green Sleeves" Henry 8th would have loved it :) (Listening from England) :)
