My favourite bit of this is the lady playing the Tubular Bells... she has her bag over her shoulder, real casual. like she was just walking by on her way somewhere and picked up the hammers and started playing
This is the first music I can remember hearing as a very very little girl- still a toddler, about 2 years old- I remember coming home from church on Sundays and my brother, who is 16 months older and I would beg Mom and Dad to put the record we called "Guns and Bells" on the big old console record player (it was 1968, after all) and turn it up all the way, so we could feel the music till the drums gave us butterflies in our bellies and the bells and horns brought me up onto my tippy toes... it is perhaps my most profound memory of all time, only surpassed by the moments I gave birth to my children. I still get goosebumps every time I hear the 1812 Overture, no matter who is performing, and this was a grand performance... I was wondering where the rest of the brass section was going to be, when I saw how crowded the plaza was becoming, so it was a delightful surprise to see them appear overhead! Thank you for bringing back those cherished memories of my early childhood, reviving my memories of what the grand classics do for my soul.
@@marcialavine1272 Happy to. I try to have at least one such experience each day. Composers like Tchaikovsky have made that goal relatively easy to achieve. 😉
Music is one of the most blessed gifts from God. It brings us together. It captivates the soul. It warms and refreshes the spirit. I am 55. I played percussion in my high school band. We worked on this piece for 6 months and we killed it. Hearing this instantly brought me back and brought happy, nostalgic tears to my eyes. Very cool set up and wonderful job!
An outstanding rendition of the 1812 Overture. Those drums and chimes and bells and cymbals really made the difference along with the fine musicians in this surprise orchestra. Well-done!
Thank you for doing this!! As an American, I definitely got goosebumps on my arms and legs after this video was over!! All of you did such a great job!! Keep up the great work!!
This was probably the best flash mob of all times. It’s hard enough to get an ensemble or chorus together, but to field an entire orchestra playing one of the most demanding pieces from Tchaikovsky. Brilliant and well done.
@@CraftAero All flash mobs are orchestrated performances. It's just a matter of how well the performers blend into the crowd. With instruments, that's nearly impossible.
Many decades ago I had the privilege of escorting my girlfriend to a high school concert at Palo Verde High School in Tucson, AZ, in the school auditorium in which the cannon fire was done with 12 gauge shotguns, firing blanks of course, and it was so very awesome. I don't guess anyone will ever do that again, given the paranoia rampant these days. I would dearly love to be there for one of these events though. Classical music is my favorite and to be in the presence of such a great performance by young people is really heartening to me that real music isn't dying out. That gal playing the chimes probably has better heart and circulatory health than anyone else in the orchestra barring probably the conductor.
Wish I could tell you how many times my dad played this overture on a vinyl record using a big ass cabinet stereo as loud as he could turn it up when I was a kid. Blew the neighborhood .up. Bravo to these musicians.

My senior year in high school we played the 1812 Overture for a football half-time show. Started out with the band in straight line on the goal line. We then proceed to march in tempo with music through various formations, until we ended up in concert formation center field, for the finally. Our canon was an oil drum with top removed and slanted at 45º angle and someone shooting a gun with blanks. Wish there had been someone in the stands with a movie camera, but none has surfaced (this a long time before digital phones).
flash mobs show just how INGRAINED into all humans a love of music is, countless people all stopped whatever they were doing entirely as the music began, and, all, for even a small moment, truly just appreciated the beauty of sound, with nothing else to taint it, the world needs to learn that despite all differences we have that will ALWAYS divide us, there are core ideas, passions and loves (like music) that are universal, and just like with music, an individual can be strong and moving, but when more come together and play their parts, the strength grows with it, and the whole becomes better off because of it
Who would dislike such a video??? Because the picture isn't cinema quality or the sound as crisp? Christ o bloody mighty!! Those who dislike such videos... do you still live with your parents?
I don't know. Maybe people are taking offense of the lack of a decently sized string section. 4 cellos and no violins, violas or contrabasses isn't exactly proportional to the hordes that is the wind and percussion sections. They manage really well with what they got though, so I think even that's a stretch.
It doesn’t matter how many times I watch this and other UA-cam videos it makes me fill with pride that young people are actually going out and spreading classical music and they look like they are genuinely enjoying it as well. I would love to see them perform but being in another country is a big starting obstacle. Keep up the fantastic work though guys ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I was at the Boston Esplanade for the bicentennial with Arthur Fielder and the Boston Pops. Best I’ve ever seen. The cannon shots sent shockwaves over the entire 400,000 people in attendance. I was up front, just behind the guy waving the huge American Flag.

I live in the city of Valencia - the local Symphonic Bands in this province are amazing! The tradition goes back more than a hundred years. --- Note the varying ages of the musicians, who usually practice together twice a week. Most of these folks have dayjobs that have nothing to do with music. On many Sundays, you can hear such bands in the Palau de la Musica here in Valencia for free!
I love UA-cam for experiences just like this. I feel very fortunate to have seen this wonderful performance. A heartfelt thank you and appreciation for all the musicians, their talent and dedicated time. I t is a blessing!

Mick All we need and want is a govt that serves the people; not this corrupt swamp that Pres Trump has to wade through like quicksand. We need an honest media instead of the insanity we have today. They're not reporters, they're 'actors'.
One of the pleasures for me in watching the Societat’s videos is watching the young musicians get older yet retain their love for classical music. The earliest flash mob I have seen of them was “Bolero.” Three of the cellists then are 3 of the 4 cellists on this piece, as are a number of the other young musicians. I also think it’s remarkable that a small town outside of Valencia, Spain has managed to maintain a classical orchestra (albeit without violins) in these times.
Thank you for your words Michael! Yes, we (and our young musicians) keep making music every day. At our UA-cam channel we upload new videos every week, so I recommend you to subscribe and enjoy them.

Well-done!
FABULOUS! and CLEARLY, the conductor LOVES what he does!!
Thank you for doing this!! As an American, I definitely got goosebumps on my arms and legs after this video was over!! All of you did such a great job!! Keep up the great work!!
Honestly, I could listen to a cello quartet all day.
Saaaaaame
Oh wow, I performed this song in my city orchestra!! This is truly beautiful. ❤
This was probably the best flash mob of all times. It’s hard enough to get an ensemble or chorus together, but to field an entire orchestra playing one of the most demanding pieces from Tchaikovsky. Brilliant and well done.
"Brilliant and well done."
And very well planned... hardly a "flash mob" at all, more of an orchestrated performance, wouldn't you say ?
Самое сложное?)
@@CraftAero All flash mobs are orchestrated performances. It's just a matter of how well the performers blend into the crowd. With instruments, that's nearly impossible.
@@MrBrock314 Of course the performance is always pre-planned. My suspicion is that the "audience" was also pre-planned, as in... it's just a concert.
Agreed!
It’s so good hearing this without without the cannons and fireworks. Let the instruments make a picture in your mind
WOW! Brilliant Yet another GREAT performance ,so much talent. Well done.

This takes me back a lot of years, to .my junior years ....1960.... When I was in junior high marching band ....I'm now 72...

Classical music! The only music that survives the test of time!
The thing that most amazes me is the ability of the sound engineer to get it so well balanced!
Oh!! Thank you 😄 That was me
Let's get one thing straight. This is the 1812 Overture. Not the July 4th song.
Michael Voight beep, wrong. You’re thinking of the William Tell Overture.
...Not to mention that it was written about the Napoleonic war of 1812, not the American war of 1812.....
@Army Tanker new york Did who really say what? Which post are you referring to?
Some who like to criticize are often NOT capable of doing anything themzelf,
Morbus well they lost the war of 1812 anyway
My senior year in high school we played the 1812 Overture for a football half-time show. Started out with the band in straight line on the goal line. We then proceed to march in tempo with music through various formations, until we ended up in concert formation center field, for the finally. Our canon was an oil drum with top removed and slanted at 45º angle and someone shooting a gun with blanks. Wish there had been someone in the stands with a movie camera, but none has surfaced (this a long time before digital phones).
1812 is a long time ago ...lol...
Très bon orchestre cela fait plaisir d écouté ses musiques surtout ne pas les oubliers ses compositeurs❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😅😅😅😅😊😊😊😊
Wow, talk about music for the masses! The music is over 200 years old and still stirs the soul!
flash mobs show just how INGRAINED into all humans a love of music is, countless people all stopped whatever they were doing entirely as the music began, and, all, for even a small moment, truly just appreciated the beauty of sound, with nothing else to taint it, the world needs to learn that despite all differences we have that will ALWAYS divide us, there are core ideas, passions and loves (like music) that are universal, and just like with music, an individual can be strong and moving, but when more come together and play their parts, the strength grows with it, and the whole becomes better off because of it
I love that bass drum. You can literally feels like a cannon in your heart.
Typically a kettle drum is used for a canon. At least that I was taught.
Honestly I think it needed to be louder. It needs a b b b bang!
❤❤❤❤❤Fantastic piece of music ....is now and forever will be !!!
.👍👍👍👍Really well played .🎼🎼🎼
Who would dislike such a video??? Because the picture isn't cinema quality or the sound as crisp? Christ o bloody mighty!! Those who dislike such videos... do you still live with your parents?
I don't know. Maybe people are taking offense of the lack of a decently sized string section. 4 cellos and no violins, violas or contrabasses isn't exactly proportional to the hordes that is the wind and percussion sections. They manage really well with what they got though, so I think even that's a stretch.
Absolutely spectacular, these musicians came outta nowhere. God Bless you all!!!
I bet a whole lot tourists said that was the highlight of their vacation. Absolutely magnificent.
Thank you! You can always watch our videos in UA-cam. Not the same as watching us perform on live, but i'm sure it'll worth it!
From the UK; This brought tears to my eyes, it was fabulous.
¡Me encanta, me fascina, me vuelve loco...!!! Sigan, sigan , sigan. Por favor. ¡Gracias!
Gives me chills every time I hear it. Just imagine the dozens of hours spent in preparation for this six minute presentation!
Not just chills, flood of tears for me too! I'm sitting here sobbing with pleasure. Thank you.
I was at the Boston Esplanade for the bicentennial with Arthur Fielder and the Boston Pops. Best I’ve ever seen. The cannon shots sent shockwaves over the entire 400,000 people in attendance. I was up front, just behind the guy waving the huge American Flag.
Makes me crying of joy to see and hear these youngsters ❤❤❤😂😂😂😂
This is my favorite flashmob ever! I've watched it countless times and it never gets boring. The best song ever written played by incredible musicians!
I Still love hearing this song/band and good for all of them to keep it in sequence and formation
One of my favorites. Love to see young musicians playing, love the dedication. Gives me goose bumps ! Bravo to them !
Me too. And I cry (but in a moving way, not out of sadness).😊🎵
So luckyyy
U were lukcy u heard this peg!
Hello to Valencia from the USA. What a wonderful, rich culture you have to have such integration of awesome music! We have symphony, but they are few and far between - how sad for us.
My eyes are tearing up...If only we could use the undeniable POWER of such moving BEAUTIFUL music to heal the ills of our World.........
You do understand that this is a piece glorifying war right?
Well-said!
IOnly Jesus Christ will heal the ills of this world!
You do understand that music doesn't have to be interpreted in any single way, right?
@@timfotusky5327 Well, he needs to wrap up this two millennia old game of hide and seek and get to work, then. That, or people need to stop making excuses for his absence and start realizing that to cure the ills of the world requires more than bended knee and clasped hands.
What's the saying? Prayer plus action equals exactly the same results as action alone.
Today is my birthday and this showed up in my feed-great timing! I was young when the Ghoul haunted channel 61 and it was always a challenge to keep a clear picture in place, but my best friend and I were great fans! My daughter does not understand how much fun we had with the Ghoul and all of his insanity!
Happy birthday!! Enjoy with our music ♥️🎉
Magnificent! I'm not crying, you're crying.
We all cry and have gosebumps when listening to this. Don't be shame.
Hard to believe us humans can make beautiful music like that with no electricity. BRAVO!!!
What has electricity got to do with music? We make music without suitcases and cucumbers too, why single out electricity for a mention?
@ Mark Fox
Because a great deal of music is played with the use of electricity.
i’m so encouraged to see the young instrumentalists - it gives me hope. 🌈
😄😁🥰Good day from Lismore, NSW.🌏 CHILLS! I first saw the 1812 in Centary Park SYDNEW when I was two; now I am 70. IT IS MY FAVOURITE!
thank you to all musicians who share their gift of music. It fills my heart
This put a smile on my face. THANK YOU!
I love the 1812 Overture and what it stands for, I get goose bumps everytime. You can hear the excitement of the country for the future in the music. It needs to be played more often.
As an old man in life I noticed that people who play musical instruments and perform for others have beautiful souls and would be marrying material for any partnership. They are the best
The way this piece starts out that you wouldn't think it would be one of his greatest.
I love watching these flash mobs
Maybe one day I will see one. Bless those people who bring joy to our day
Thanks
Less than a minute in and I can feel tears welling up. So beautiful and glorious! 🇺🇸
And I thought it was just me! Great very moving experience!
You do know this song is about Russia, right?
@@isabelbarker786 I do now. Just looked it up. Also used here in America on the 4th of July. 🇺🇸🎆
@@isabelbarker786 Beautiful music transcends politics. Also ,note that this is the piece generally played on the U.S. Independence Day fireworks celebrations.
andy charles I knew that, I was simply providing a fact to prevent misconceptions.
The amazing talent that these young people demonstrate is so remarkable, my late father wanted me and my sister to learn how to play the piano and we both said No. I only wished I did, music is the given universal language
God Bless the universal language of music.

MUSIC SPEAKS ONLY TO THE SOUL.
Conni Lane Trump voters don’t need music

All we need and want is a govt that serves the people; not this corrupt swamp that Pres Trump has to wade through like quicksand.

Listening and watching this sent goosebumps up and down my back
Bravi bravissimi 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
