I have to wonder if he had the correct view tho. He who after acquiring the stones could have just manipulated reality to the point where only a sustainable future was possible. It certainly didn't require killing half the Galaxy.
@@excelsior8682 he does have a point, though I can't say I like his method to deal with it. Overpopulation IS a very real issue, it's one were likely going to need to confront sooner than we'd like, since even with perfect distribution of was the resources, it can only really sustain 10 billion people, and were already at 7 billion, and, based on current predictions, we're going to reach and exceed 10 billion by the end of the century. And again, that 10 billion is assuming resources are distributed perfectly, which they currently are far from it, if they were, there wouldn't be countries where, as you'll have likely see on TV from charity ads, people have to walk miles just to get water that'll still probably kill them anyway. But, that is just going on a planets scale, since it's certainly starting to look like we wont just have earths resources to survive on by the end of the century, seeing as there's already plans in place to start setting up abasic moon colony set up (NASA) by 2025, not to mention putting people on mars in the 2030s, assuming nobody manages to do it sooner, so that still leaves another 60-70 years to progress from the first landing to starting to set up a colony to start being able to use mars as another source of resources. Yikes, sorry for the essay, but yeah, thanks has a very good point, just his plan for fixing the problem isn't nearly as good. I mean yes, it solves the problem temporarily, but it causes so much pain, and isn't even going to fix the problem for long, since it really doesn't take a massive amount of time for a population to double. I'll admit I can't think of a permanent solution, but just using the stones to increase the amount of resources, while it won't necessarily work for too long either, it's something that can be repeated when needed, and I seriously doubt anyone would take issue with it, since it doesn't harm anyone, unlike erasing half of life from existance
@@revampedharpy09 that was my initial point. His "solution" is merely a bandaid for a bigger problem. By not actually solving it, he just made all of his sacrifices and effort worthless
They really nailed the shit out of Thanos in the most perfect way possible. Through all of his actions and motives which were for the most part terrifying, his character and dialogue was radiating wisdom.
I disagree. They didn't nail thanos, they made him absolutely glorious! Thanos in the comics is, well, comical. His reasoning for killing half of the universe is just so he can marry death incarnate. It's so irrational and unbelievable. I mean if he believed that then why not even kill 100% of the universe? In the movies, they made Thanos a rational, believable character. They made a purple space alien into a human character doing what he believed in. On the other hand, Thanos in Endgame was just a bog-standard unmotivated villain. Huge letdown.
@@masterzocker8794 Thanos's justification have no relevance to whether he is an antihero. Simply, Thanos isn't the good guy in this story. He is not the protagonist that we root for, sure he has an interesting backstory, with well explained motivations, but that does not make him a guy that we want to win. Thanos is not an antihero, he is the villain.
I always felt like Thanos succeeded in Infinity War because he genuinely believed he was doing the right thing, he sacrificed what he loved for it. In Endgame it felt like he was rash and impatient.
endgame he was more vulnerable without the stones and desesperated ! He discovered that his plan of wipe Out half of existence would never work Out because the other half would to prevent that
Infinity War Thanos succeeded in his goal and died thinking his work would never be undone with the destruction of the stones. Endgame Thanos on the other hand finds out he succeeds in his goal only to realise the Avengers discover time travel, threatening to undo his work, that’s why he’s rash and impatient.
Actually, the scene at the end of Infinity War where Thanos just sits there watching the sunrise was pretty badass. So yeah. Thanos just breathing was hardcore.
I think it's not possible because 50% of what you see of brolin is done by computer to the point that it's pretty much only voice acting, oscars are probably chosen because of expressed emotions and all too, not just the voice
3:08 is the best in my opinion most people would abuse there power and do cool things with the gauntlet thanos is so wise and old that he’s not amused by power he just admires the sunrise a simple part of the universes beauty’s
That's what made him so incredibly dangerous, like Cap he had an indomitable will to do what he felt was right, he would stop at nothing to achieve it, probably even giving his own life.
Mr.Scooper Him kidnapping her and killing her isn’t even the main reason tho. You do know it doesn’t matter if he loves her right? Lots of toxic and abusive parents have some type of “love” for their children but it doesn’t negate the fact that they’re abusive _period_ . Doesn’t matter if it was unintentional, the man abused both of his daughters. One just had it way worse.
SiaLater Thanos didn’t abuse gamora he pushed them to do his work thanos did abuse nebula but when thanos came to getting the soul stone he had too I wouldn’t say all villains who had daughters and had a chance to get the soul stone would do it but thanos really needed it and avoided gamora killing herself he didn’t know the soul stone need a sacrifice if he had more time to think about it he would probably change his mind

Despite being a villain, some of the stuff Thanos says can actually inspire people to improve themselves. "Perfectly balanced as all things should be" encourages people to be more level headed and "the hardest choices require the strongest will" encourages them to go through with tough decisions. Another inspiring thing about him is that he genuinely sticks to his beliefs, which is something that most people are too weak to do.

End game wrecked ideology and manner of Thanos objectively speaking. In infinity war, though he fought against his enemies he doesn't do it out of hatred or just being evil he respects Tony and honored his words of not killing him which he gave to Dr.Strange also calls Wanda her child and tries to have a little bit of sympathy with her however; Thanos in the End Game becomes a simplistic evil guy who who thinks the enemies whom his other self used to respect are bunch of ungrateful beings and he developes a grudge against them and says it's gonna be enjoyable for him to destroy earth. For a person of his understanding and perception, he should have never hold any grudge to begin with he knows those people or heroes are just doing their jobs and they lack the insight necessary just like Infinity War and he shouldn't have hold any grudge against them.

This is what I love about Thanos. I wish some of the heroes understood him more what he was. Say his plan was still evil but he was different than other villains.
I like how Thanos gradually improves as a person throughout the movie. As he gets closer to his goals, he starts to emphasize with people, it’s like the same power that would otherwise corrupt people has the opposite effect on Thanos. Also a lot of his changes happen when he splits from his goons, maybe because he has to act more intimidating in front of them to get respect as an overlord.
Nietzsche actually flipped this quote into absolute weakness corrupts absolutely. Power on the other hand is the source of true morality. Power doesn't corrupt, it just shows your true colors. Sometimes those colors are inner hatred and resentment which again stems from the weakness of not being able to overcome oneself. The original quote stems from the fear of the herd mentality. The fear of exceptional men.
One of the best things about Thanos is he's pretty calm for most of the movie. Everything he says which is pretty horrifying he does it in this soft, almost endearing tone. He really truly believes that what he's doing is right and its not out of malice. It's pretty evil what he does but to him he really does feel like he's justified and altruistic which makes him a fantastic villain but also terrifying. I really hope they give Doom the same stellar writing.

@@abinavbl915 And that is why I made that comment, not because of how it hits hard, but because of how worthy MCU really is that it should not be forgotten!
@@Chris_Lun **Opion alert** I would argue against that. Infinity War is the conquest of Thanos and the avenger's fight to disrupt that conquest. Endgame having Thanos in it doesn't really play on the super villain and super hero story building up. Which I think is what makes super hero movies good-period. They definitely did not do it in the way Infinity War did. In my opinion, as the comment above is (aka my opinion and NOT fact), endgame failed in that sense. I think the movie was good, especially having a homicide as the motive for the whole movie, but it was kind of cliché they even brought Thanos back. If the movie stayed consistent with the avengers adventures through time and the main advesary being the challenges they face through time travel (to get the infinity stones of course), and even introducing a new villain that will build up later on in the MCU, like Thanos did in the Inifity Saga, I think we could of had a better and shorter movie-and the not forcing of the neo-Thanos character into the mix so much.

"Everything "
Chills ran thru the theater as the scene played, ill never forget the moral lesson in that! Nothing in life nor death is free, wether worth having or not worth having.

CGI is just perfect can't tell me thanos isn't a real person lmao
Every word that Thanos told is a quote!!! Mad respect for the mad titan.
The first time seeing Thanos was truly a moment in my life. Kinda like when your favorite hero is so perfect on screen. He’s not even my favorite villain. He’s just the one I’ve truly feared.
What do you do to beat him?
First step is to realize he's not real. There you beat him.

@@willldo4Agreed.
You have our respect, MCU. When we’re gone, a new humanity will be alive. We hope they remember you.
Damn that hits hard NGL
@@abinavbl915 And that is why I made that comment, not because of how it hits hard, but because of how worthy MCU really is that it should not be forgotten!
"Now is no time at all"
THAT WAS A SICK ONE TBH
LegendaryAlex reminds me of mr incredible when he says “no there isnt. In fact, theres no time at all.”
@@BlackDiamond2718 hard as fuck
After watching Endgame, am I the only one that always feels like Thanos is gonna say “I am inevitable” at 0:49 ?
Or should i say.... I am inevitable??
That's questionable
You're not the only one
infinity war is the greatest super hero film I have ever seen...not Endgame.
Endgame is the same movie
amen

**Opion alert**
I would argue against that.
No age of ultron best
Well endgame isn’t a superhero movie, it’s an Avengers movie
So
Thanos’ character story was amazing and his sense of duty was truly something to behold. He’s what ambitious ppl hope to be.
In the trailers. They made him say the “this puts a smile on my face”. But they obviously fooled us when it’s not in the movie. It’s amazing how complex this character is. I thought he was happy about doing this like all the villains but he goes through pain to do this.
That was for endgame..dude
waqar solangi pretty sure this “smile” quote was only in the trailers.
I meant that should had been in endgame..
The way he said in endgame'' in all my years of conquest , violence ,slaughter it was never personal, but i tell you now what am about to do your stubborn annoying little planet, am gonna enjoy it very very much..
Well, reality is often disapointing
The speech in the opening and the intro speech on Titan are just simply amazing. The way the dialogue was crafted perfectly.
