I love how this edit truly highlights some powerful and important takeaways about Thanos when you siphon out the evil. He is a rarity in how he will willingly give up everything, his world, his life, children, power, to do what he thinks is for the greater good. Other villains, or even heroes, are immensely self-indulgent no matter how noble their stride: there is some personal indulgence. Thanos destroys that. He gives up everything for things mostly outside himself. Goes through the physical pain, loss of his world, loss of his daughter, his power, wealth, and once it is done he sheds it for a life of poverty- as if to continuing giving as much as he can. I don't see many other characters oriented this way.
