I test rode both. Triumph by a mile for "smile on your face" rating. BTW, I'm an Indian owner, Harley owner, and now also a Triumph owner.

I was looking to buy the scout. Whilst looking, I clapped eyes on the Triumph bobber. Wow! Blew me away. I bought one. Absolutely no regrets.

i got the same struggle. My only complain (just seeing them in videos) is, that the scout has a deeper sound (also with aftermarket exhausts) which i really like. But i think with 6ft2 the triumph is better fitting. I have to check these out

You still have the triumph ? In really debating on it and the scout bobber even the chief bobber 🤦🏾‍♂️

The triumph is superior as a bobber. And the engine power is almost identical, with fake 100hp advertised for the Indian. They measure it at the crank, not the actual HP at the wheel, like the triumph.
Triumph is spoked tubed wheels with abs.
Indian has cast tubeless without abs unless you pay more.
      Very similar bikes

Amazing... nice compare. Most have these two head to head so this video will be much appreciated by many. So thank you....
I had the Indian in my sights for years until I was awed by the beauty of the Triumph. The modern day electronics and now the larger tank makes it the winner. You can get a custom pillion seat made for it too now by a few international companies.
It would be nice if you had a ride comparison video of both comparing the ride comfort over different roads including pot holes and the like with the standard sound comparison. Thanks again.

I wonder about the safety of the passenger on the Triumph bobber though, because if you did put something to sit on, on top of that fender, not only is there no suspension for the passenger but wouldn't getting squished by the rider in front of you be a concern as the seat goes up and down with the frame over the bumps?

@@raybrensike42 yes I get it. Suspension would definitely have to be upgraded. This is just one design from Thorton.

Also to keep in mind with the belt the scout really only puts down about the same 77hp on a dyno where as with the chain no power is lost so both bikes have virtually the same on paper power.

Nicely done sir💪wish more people put out such clear and concise content like this. I actually just picked up the triumph bobber a couple months ago myself and was considering the scout so i wanted to watch your video to see what I was missing out on😅 I ended up getting the first bobber triumph put out, the 2017 model, and I'm not sure if anyone else has made note of this already in the comments but the 2017 bobber (the regular bobber, not the bobber black) does not come with cruse control or and LED headlight stock and only has a single disk brake in the front. There are a few other differences like the larger front tire in the black and whatnot but those are the things that caught my attention in this video so anyone else shopping for a later model triumph bobber watch out if those are deal breakers for you. Having said all of that I also have to say I am absolutely in love with my 2017 triumph bobber. I've done a little bit of work customizing her here and there trying to bring here even closer to the era she is paying tribute to but aside from a catalitic converter delete her preformance is sock and i can confidently say if anyone is thinking about getting the triumph bobber I hope that you do! You will not be disapointed. The most fun I've ever had on a motorcycle hands down! That high tork really makes it a blast to ride and it turns a lot of heads and even the Harley riders can't stop drooling over it and complimenting it at stop lights😎 Awesome bike!!!!!

The Triumph looks better, in my opinion, and has modern features like traction control and cruise control standard, but still retains that old school bobber look. I'm going with the Triumph.

I love both of these bikes. Iv had the 2022 Triumph Bobber for about a year. A good friend recently picked up the scout bobber. I would disagree with the comments on the Triumph seat being terrible and not usable after 20 minutes. I easily finish a tank of gas before I really get uncomfortable. Granted I am 5'6". The cruise control on the Triumph is also super nice and really easy to use. Both are awesome.

I was looking at both these bikes for my next bike but didn't like the small tank on the triumph but now they have increased the tank size which has got me interested again.. When the time comes I will have to test ride them.

Being in the UK I was going to buy the Triumph Bobber but now I'm really impressed with the Indian Dark Horse Bobber with really great options to transform the bike you will be getting. The Indian will be a bit more expensive when I have changed a few items, Indian have done a great job in offering this modification option on their site I just have to wait for my bike to be ready then it's happy days.

I will get the triumph bobber only because I would get less aftermarket parts because it has the look I really want. If I got the Indian scout bobber I just feel I would do a lot more upgrades.

  • @DexterDexter123

i like both, but i think the Triumph is prettier. I went with that. The suspension is back breaking/teeth smashing on pot holes. I can see why people sell them with low mileages on them. I still love it though - the Indian having less clearance makes me think it'd be even worse. which would be disastrous on our roads in the UK. I'd like to test ride one though. great video.

My 2016 Triumph Bobber has anti-lock brakes, traction control, and rain/road mode standard. It also has duel trip odometer, gas gauge, how many miles left until the tank is empty, average MPG, digital RPM, and digital clock. The Standard Triumph Bobber did not have cruise control, so that part is correct. Everything else is spot on.

Really different styles. The Triumph reminds me of an old Norton, the Indian is certainly a cruiser styling. I actually like the lack of technology on the Indian. I didn't catch the price comparison, but the Triumph might come out a bit cheaper because I'd keep the stock exhaust. The Indian exhaust needs to be replaced with a 2 into 1 or minimally shorter pipes, the stock Scout exhaust is way to large for the size of the bike. I'd be happy with either but I bought the Scout Rogue and am very happy with it, personally I find the Indian Rogue much more comfortable with it's more relaxed riding position.

I had a 1970 Triumph Trophy that I bobbed with a solo seat and just loved it. However, nothing makes a bike look better than a girl on the back (or front), so I have to have a second seat.

Watch out when you read specifications. I've seen more than a few discrepancies. Just now I see for the Triumph Speed Master given under US specs, 60.9 mpg (4.6 liters / 100 km)
Does that even make sense? 60.9 x 3.2 = over 180 miles a tank, but the tank is only 12 liters, and if you got 60.9 miles for every 4.6 liters...well there isn't but 12 liters of gas in the tank, so you are not going to be 60.0 mpg, not in US gallons.

Indian engine performance is rated at the crank by Indian and at the wheel by triumph. The Indian has barely higher HP and has to be revved higher. To hit the same torque and HP as the triumph.
The triumph is objectively superior in performance. It also has a superior suspension that is most easily and CHEAPLY made much better with a COC customs seat spring.
The mid controls are more comfortable.
