Hey I agree with you! We use them for backyard get togethers and of course camping but for extended run time I limit the light to 2 sides or turn them down some from full power.
You may even get them earlier than the end of June, I ordered mine and even though it said pre-order I had it in about seven days! I’m gonna take it out camping again this weekend!!
This reminds me of an old Coleman lantern, but modern and reliable... I could see possible uses for this in lighting for my videos and like you said, emergency situations.
Oh totally!! I inquired about it last fall at Overland Expo East. They told me something was in the works but they would not give away any secrets. I use my lightranger on a mount I have on top my vehicle so having it wireless keeps me from having to climb up the ladder to turn it on and off all the time. I am excited to get out and start using it.
We have two of the 1200s, I use those around the house. Now I’m using the 2000 with a custom mount on top the Land Rover Defender for camping, so I can put it 9 feet above the vehicle.
Any idea if the motion sensor or battery addon accessory for the 1200 are compatible with the 2000? Just bought a 1200 with both accessories like 3 months ago and considering an upgrade.
I know the battery add on works, I have that and talk about it in the video. I don’t have the motion sensor so that may be a question to ask DEVOS directly. If you get an answer report back and let us know!!
@@christopherp3474 Oh that's AWESOME! Thank you for the update, I don't have the motion sensors yet! I will get one ordered so I can use it with the 2000! Do you like the motion sensor? What do you use it for mostly?
@@WhyWeLikeIt I do like it. I turn it on when I head into the tent for the night. That way, if I have to go outside to take a leak it turns the light on. If someone invades my camping space when I'm in the tent, the light also turns on.
Will the Bluetooth signal pass through the wall of an aluminum camper to the outside? Can the bottom tripod be removed from the pole so that the pole can be placed in a holder?
Great questions. I’m still experimenting with it but I can turn it on from inside the house so I’m assuming the unit would go through the walls of an aluminum camper. As for the tripod bottom, yes the pole can be removed from the base but please note that the pole is wider at the bottom than the 1200 pole. Also something I learned after making the video so I may have to make an update is that “Lights go into low-power mode after 8 hours of not being used. You may need to turn your light on again to re-connect”
@@WhyWeLikeItone more question. If you remove the tripod what is the diameter of the pole? I want to make a holder on the back of my Jeep to hold the pole. Ordered the 2000 but don’t know when I will get it. Thanks
OK, the diameter of the pole is a little bigger than the one that came with the light ranger 1200. The pole that comes with the light ranger 2000 in inches is 1 7/16. So just under 1 1/2. Hope this helps!!
@@davidk6668 If it's the same size as the 1200, I ordered extra poles from Devos and mounted them to the side of my Ruger trailer. I love the set up. I don't remember the diameter, but I couldn't locate anything the exact size. The poles from Devos also have the button lock to secure the light head, so it made it easy.
I want to get the motion sensor and try it out at camp. I just ordered a second LightRanger 2000, I’ll order the motion sensor as well! Thanks for the comment.
I saw that they were on the website right after OverlandExpo West 3 weeks ago, I placed my order even though it said pre-order and I had it within seven days after ordering. I was pretty shocked to have it so quickly. But I’m pretty sure that they’re shipping as they have them in stock.
Thanks for the question! That’s called the Pyro Tower! It’s an all steel Chiminea. We use it for fires mostly but you can smoke and cook on it too by swapping out the doors.
Got my Lightranger 2000 but have to exchange it. White and yellow diodes on one side are flickering. Still waiting for new one to arrive. Hadn’t received any indication that my replacement was being shipped. Finally filled out a review that was sent to me from a Devos Outdoor. Gave the rating two stars with the reason that they need to work on their quality control and inspections before shipping. It’s typical that this review was never posted on their website. I even filled out a review on their website and it never got posted. I have seen other companies screen their reviews and only post favorable ones. This is not a good practice. Overall like the light and its ability especially the App control.
Thanks for the real world insight and sorry to hear about the issue! Reach out to Devos again or reach out on instagram. I had a 10amp battery pack go out on me and stop charging so I emailed through their website. They got back to me and sent me a new one (I had to send back the non working one once I got the new one). Devos has had good communication in my situations in the past so my hopes is they get you that new light ASAP.
@@WhyWeLikeIt We did have an isolated batch of 2000's that are having an issue with the bluetooth board and some of them are flickering. We are in the process of receiving replacement heads. Everyone that has been affected will receive an email with replacement details on Friday.
@@zskibum673 Thanks for the info, your message is why I love DEVOS so much! DEVOS really takes care of their customers, they listen and create amazing products!! Thanks taking time to watch my video and for participating in the comments.
The app is pretty cool, but I really love the motion sensor option for the 1200. I love that when I have to take a pee at 4am, I don't need to locate and mess with my phone. The lights come on automatically and then go back off after I crawl back in my RTT. I'll stick with my 1200s for now.
@@WhyWeLikeIt Not sure. I sleep in a rooftop tent that is very dark and keep the light setting pretty low to keep from disturbing anyone if I do go out at night, but I don't think it comes on.
Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment. You are going to love using it! I have been using the LightRanger 1200s for 2 years and they are fantastic. When I saw DEVOS had the LightRanger 2000 at Overland Expo this year I had to get one on order!
These lights were amazing, with 50 friends camping, playing cards,LRC, and more. There is plenty of light downside wish full charge lasted longer

My pleasure! We been using the 2000 with our overland setup now for 3 months and it’s fantastic!
Thanks for that very detailed video. I’m gonna go ahead and pre-order two of them so I can have them by the end of June.

Great best review I’ve watched yet. Somebody actually knows what they’re doing.
Thanks so much. I enjoy making videos of gear we love to use camping to show others how they may use it themselves.
You’re welcome keep up the great work🙏

Nice review, glad to see they have added a mobile app - makes it much more compelling.
