    Best size rolls to buy is either 40x100 and cut it in half when yoy pull the film out to do sides won’t waste hardly anything, then it covers all front and back windows. Or buy a 60x100 and have it cut 24/36 use the 24” roll for all side windows and the 36 for rear glass. My experience so far

    Do you recommend buying a plotter?
    How many cars did it take for you to feel confident and lose your intimidation
    I want to start tinting windows two and I want to know if it’s as quick to learn like detailing or do you need to have at least 20 cars under your belt to be proficient

    • @tylerhunter7332
      @tylerhunter7332 7 місяців тому

      A plotter makes it easier to learn since if you mess up a window it's quick to start again. But I suggest hand cutting and getting good at it because if you're mobile you won't have a plotter most of the time. Hand cutting windows is not very hard just practice on your own vehicle and friends and family until you're confident. Even when doing customers car when you run into a problem you'll be able to work through it

      @@jasonsmith4293 on a plotter. BUT I found a $5k plotter on facebook marketplace for $600 lol. If you don't know what a plotter is, a plotter can cut out the window patterns for you with software like film vinyl design. Many others but film vinyl design is the best. Using a plotter eliminates having to hand cut. But you should know how to hand cut before going that route otherwise you'll fail. I'm saving up for a 5x8 encloses trailer to haul the plotter in that while the film is being cut by the machine, I'm prepping windows. OH, and film vinyl design software is the only software that you don't need internet connection. And if you think about doing something like I am, just buy one of those power inverters that clamp on the battery terminals and gives you power to plug in your laptop and plotter. Most people use work vans with same set up, but I don't want to pay car insurance on more than one vehicle so I'm doing the trailer hauling

    How did you learn car tinting, and how long did it take you to start with customers and make money

    • @smasher101101
      @smasher101101 10 місяців тому +4

      As a learner right now, tinting is decently easy to learn, but like anything, it’s hard to master. Bigger shapes and curved glass pieces are more expert level stuff, but you can learn how to tint the side windows in just a couple weeks of practice a couple times a week. But I’ve been practicing for a few months now and still find myself fucking up back windows and wasting tint. Have a good day friend:)

      watch a you tube video from a pro, the hardest part fo me was learning how to use a heat gun to form the film to back windows and it isn't too difficult. Learing how to apply the back window in cramped cars is also tricky but once you get the hang of it you won't sweat it
