Regardless of what people say and think about Barack Obama, that man can orate with some of the best. Few men have been able to captivate attention in the 21st century like this man. This was an excellent collection of orators, through and through.

I agree. That silver tongue SOB drew me in and l voted for him twice. 😂

The only thing he can do is talk, Biden can’t even master that though
On this day, 60 years ago, during the March on Washington, MLK delivered his “I Have a Dream” speech to about 250,000 people. I’m not black, but there’s a power and boldness in his speeches that is so unmatched! No matter what race or ethnicity you are, this is someone who everyone should look up to and respect: a hero and a warrior!
MLK represents the true strength of the United States. No matter how much injustice there may be in this country, he represents all those people, young and old, black and white, man and woman, who hold fast to an unyielding hope that the future could be better. He represents all those people who, in the face of being told that they can't, respond with the timeless American creed: "yes we can"
When I was 11, my dad took me to see Dr King in Detroit, where he gave a prelude to his I have a dream speech. I feel like I spent so much of the 60’s mourning murdered heroes.
“Not judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character” such a beautiful sentence🥺
And nowadays the left has completely ignored it and insists the white man bad
It’s a shame most people don’t believe this to be true
Most people don't even follow this unfortunately, his people seem to completely ignore the fact he ever said this.

"A man touched down on the Moon, a wall came down in Berlin, a world was connected by our own science and imagination"
Yes we can! What a beautifully inspiring speech!
The kind of speech that gives you hope. Y’know? Hope that things can change for the better.
@@penonpaper3132 The year that hope was made in America, a time I never forgot, would ultimately serve as a reminder of how far North America as a whole and the entire world has fallen.

The power of Greed had shown its ugly face in so many ways, we forgot that we were even looking at it to begin with.

When Biden had started the Ukraine war, nobody batted an eye. When BLM and MeToo started, everyone knew how it would end: as a terrible tragedy for everyone involved.
People learned what being toxic and cancel culture is. Corporations have been getting away with the moral equivalence of genocide even into the future because it won’t be addressed until the damage is done.
Canada has now become the new Russia under Trudeau after Trump left the office and Biden becomes faced with his own creation in Ukraine.
UA-cam, social media, Roblox and Netflix all dig their own graves. People forgot and still forget what it means to be themselves.
The Pandemic revealed worldwide corruption from governments and private industry that manufactured vaccines.
Slavery is still alive today, but it comes in forms we can even find in Canada. Racism still lives on strong throughout the world.
We haven’t cured the social problems caused by modern day smart phones. We also fail to act on the information that is found about it.
Social stigmatization is something that sociologists and psychologists around the world need to fight but haven’t done yet.
Poorly raised children are growing up to become more than just a menace to society, but a menace to the world.
These are just some of the most pressing issues that have come since and before Obama took power.
@@jamessaunders2559 It truly seems like America has hit its peak.
@@jamessaunders2559 You definitely have a point, but not all of them are correct, most of them had nothing to do with Obama. Russia started the Ukraine war. @@OBrien-hi9zq The sixties saw assassinations, civil rights struggles, riots, a 'depraved' sexual revolution, an explosion of drug use, and a war that killed ten times the number of Americans than all the wars since. The seventies continued to fuel our decline with Watergate, the Iranian hostage crisis, the rise of terrorism, Japan's rise to economic dominance, and the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. We were impotent, a paper tiger so I heard, a shadow of our former selves. Except we weren't. The predictions were wrong then, and I think they might be just as wrong now. He didn't want a revolution. He just wanted people to treat each other as equals. And, as Mr. King so eloquently put it in all of his speeches, he wanted us to get along, not as either black or white, but as CHILDREN OF GOD.

I just want to cry like I did when I first heard Dr. Kings speeches. He stirred my soul and fanned that fire. Then right after we lost Bobby. I almost couldn’t stand the grief I felt.
Dr. King is one of those speakers who can effortlessly bring you to tears, and just never disappoints.
I think preaching in a church and talking to the people he spoke to helped him with that. He wasn’t a politician speaking blindly to a crowd, he was speaking to people. Just like when he preached, he was just talking to people who had thoughts, needs, and dreams. Even as a teenager who never lived through the civil rights movement, mostly likes to stay out of politics, and disagrees with Kings entire religion, I can’t help but respect the man. A man who fought for what his people needed and didn’t hurt others in the process is one who deserves respect and recognition throughout the ages.

MLK really did deliver a prophetic speech. It really felt like he saw the promised land over the mountaintop, it felt like he saw the end of his road, and he saw the road that he paved for his people.
The way he quickly stepped away from the podium before he even finished his sentence, as if he was struggling to contain his emotions, it really did seem like he 100% believed what he was saying. If I had my tinfoil hat on, I'd say he had gotten warnings or a tip-off that he was going to be targeted for an assassination soon - and he continued giving his speeches with the knowledge that each one may be his last.

I heard an interview from the 90’s of a veteran who was on the USS Augusta when Truman decided to drop the bomb. He said that Truman sat down next to him, talked a bit about where the sailor was from, and weeped over his decision to drop the bomb. He did say it had to be done but agonized over the decision.
The US had to use a nuclear bomb on thousands of innocent civilians? Turning them to dust and leaving even more in agonizing torture? I doubt those poor souls would agree. We watched the evil destruction we wrought and did it a second time.
I don't see it that way.
It is hard as an American to take watching our state department claiming the high ground against Russia for its current actions, knowing what we did in 1945. Not to mention the countless, senseless deaths we have caused the last 30 years.

And...Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.

Lincoln: "A house divided among itself cannot stand"
Kennedy: "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country"
MLK: "I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character"
FDR: "We have nothing to fear but fear itself"
2020 with Trump and Joe Biden
Trump: “"I'm the most successful person ever to run for the presidency, by far. Nobody's ever been more successful than me"
Biden: "I have a sister who is the love of my life"
They're both senile, geriatric politicians in their 70s loool

With Obama's victory speech, while partisanship may be worse than it was ever imaginable in 2008 his hope still moves me evermore. Not only his words but the twinkle and creased smiles of the crowd as well, you can see the hope not only in their minds but in their hearts as well. While the future is still uncertain, and we are coming up on yet again the "most historic election" in American history, that hope from 2008 still moves me in 2023.
Coming back this 4th of July to listen to Dr. King once again...his words will forever touch my soul, and the souls of all Americans. One of, if not our single greatest national figure.

@@sammadkhan4459 What's a shame is that 50 years have passed and listening to RFK's speech is now more relevant than ever. January 6 and the last few years are a reminder. Still months later to words ring true.
There’s something oddly moving about seeing MLK filmed in color. I’ve seen color photos of him, but only ever black and white footage. He seems so historical, so monumental in black and white, but in color, it makes him seem so real. It’s hard to explain, but it’s fascinating seeing him as he was to many, a preacher (reverend but you get the point). It’s interesting seeing him more as a man, rather than a historical figure
