I've certainly seem some pretty terrifying soaps on the internet even as someone who's never made soap and just knows the bare basics of the chemistry behind it
Hey Cute Mixture, your soap looks amazing! Don’t worry, I always have nerves when making soap too. Even though I know it’ll be fine, my anxiety kicks in and I start getting reckless with the batter 😂
Soap 14- When I was 4 years old my mum bought a candle that looked like a frothy milkshake topped with cream. I licked it and it tasted so bad. But I'm an adult now and I can appreciate the skill it takes to turn something mundane into art
Loved the reddit reviews idea! to be completely honest.. your soap is quite the piece, like a 9 year old trying on makeup for the first time in their life.. :)
I remember thinking the same thing a few years ago! A popular soapmaker’s video (Royalty Soaps, she reviewed soap hacks on 5 Minute Crafts) was recommended to me and I thought huh, I’ll take a look 👀 Two years later, I’m making soap pretty much every other week!
Roasting your soap, which looks like cake - complete with cake like texture (nice) You're supposed to put the icing between layers, not into the batter.
Hahahaaaa some soaps I make never match. I have a sugared lemon loaf scent and its green, yellow, and gray color. I have a peach honey bar curing and it is purple mostly. *winging it over here*
It takes a lot of time to be able to reel in those colours! There are so many factors that can affect them - vanillin content, sensitive colours, whether or not you’re using micas or neons, they’re such a pain to figure out!
What Reddit do I need to get onto and post pics of my soaps for you to see them? I’ve been making soap for two years and would love for you see mine! Heck I’d even send you some soaps for you to try and see in person!
Your soaps are breathtaking! Why don’t you send a couple pics my way? Perhaps next video I can show them off! You can send them to soapuniverse@hotmail.com
why dont people use vanilla stabilizers when using fragrances containing vanalin? that was the first thing I learned when soaping and I always use it in every batch! I have home batches of soap 6 mo old or more that havent changed color
just want you to know it's completely your fault that I'm looking to buy soap molds, anything and everything that goes as badly as your "queen of tropics" will be blamed onto you
(requested roast, 3 months late because youtube is only *just* recommending this to me) Okay, but why does yours look like someone took pepto bismol, turned it into chalk, and then mixed it with a brick of parmesan cheese?
You’re totally right! Looking at an art deco colour palette it totally gives off those vibes, and steampunk totally makes sense. I like the soap a bit more now!
Aah the ol' soaps made to look like food thing. In the UK its illegal to sell soaps which are made to specifically imitate food. Not so fun fact, if you do, you'll be contravening the Food Imitation Act. It doesn't seem to stop some people though.
Fascinating! I know a problem that’s been brought up in North America is the fact that a lot of cleaners (some poisonous, some caustic) are richly coloured, making them look like pop or fruit juice. I wonder if that’s been tackled in the UK as well?
@@SoapUniverse i wonder how much of that is more the foods prodcuts than the cleaning ones. In my personal opinion bright blue liquids arent all that appetising, but im not north american😅
Hmm . . .Your soap's like something my Nana would've kept in her guest bathroom but you weren't allowed to use it and she would dust it off every month or so. I should apologize now because like you, I'm Canadian, but your soap does look . . .um . . crusty. Sorry ☹.
@@SoapUniverse I use hard oils and have no issue, unless the fragrance accelerates the mix. I don't soap with the oils cool enough to start solidifying again.
Today UA-cam decided I was going to wade hip-deep into somebody's else's fandom 😃
And isn't it fun! Soap fandom is an interesting place
Join usss!!

Crepe layers? Lord, I thought that was ricing. LOL.
😭You saw my soap!! I'm cute mixture!! I'm so glad you liked it. My hands were shaking like crazy to get the pours right 😭

That sounds absolutely delicious! I would probably be tempted to take a bite of that as an adult 😂
Loved the reddit reviews idea! to be completely honest.. your soap is quite the piece, like a 9 year old trying on makeup for the first time in their life.. :)
I had no idea if it would work out so I was nervous to make this video! And okay I can personally relate to that since I did wear my mom’s lipstick 😂
That soap looks like it belongs on a dish with a kitten on it… in a pink office…. that belongs to a lady dressed in pink. “Hem hem” *giggles*
Would you like a lemon drop for your throat? You seem to be clearing it an awful lot
I had never even considered that soap making could be a niche

You need to post more!
So many ideas, so little time 😭
I always love your videos 😊 I agreed with your number 1 choice. I can’t roast your Jamaican coconut cake soap it’s so funny and cute 😂
Lol speaking of soap that looks edible!!
Roasting your soap, which looks like cake - complete with cake like texture (nice)
You're supposed to put the icing between layers, not into the batter.
I'll give the roast a go.
How did you make a cake like soap that looks like it's caked in makeup rather than a like a treat?
Everyone’s comparing it to makeup!! 😂 😭

My soap didn’t even make the list 😭
There’s still an opportunity for you to make October’s video! 😃
What kind of soap did you make? Halloweeny? Swirly twirly?
why dont people use vanilla stabilizers when using fragrances containing vanalin? that was the first thing I learned when soaping and I always use it in every batch! I have home batches of soap 6 mo old or more that havent changed color
I’ve always heard mixed things about vanilla stabilizers! Where do you get yours from? So your soap doesn’t discolour at all?
just want you to know it's completely your fault that I'm looking to buy soap molds, anything and everything that goes as badly as your "queen of tropics" will be blamed onto you
Tell me which soap molds you’re going to buy!

i have to disagree with you, #9's colorscheme is wicked, the green and orange is like like normal and patina'd copper, very art deco, very steampunk
You’re totally right! Looking at an art deco colour palette it totally gives off those vibes, and steampunk totally makes sense. I like the soap a bit more now!

Try royalty soaps
Lol - is this your roast? 😂😂😂
I’d actually like to buy one of her collections and review them!
Loved this video, the soap is cute like a baby naked mole rat :)
EW but okay you’re actually not too far off 😂
Dude, obviousy you need to soap cool to keep the fluidity...
The problem with soaping cool with a recipe that contains hard oils is that the hard oils start to solidify and thicken the batter anyways!
@@SoapUniverse I use hard oils and have no issue, unless the fragrance accelerates the mix. I don't soap with the oils cool enough to start solidifying again.
How cool do you soap? I’ve never gone below 30°C.
@@SoapUniverse Room temp, so, maybe low 70's. Mixed with liquid oils, the coconut or palm oils don't get cool enough to start solidifying.
