Hello, I am a soap maker and a chemist. You did a great job. You can use ice cubes only or ice cubes and water to avoid fumes and get the lye to cool down faster. I am room temperature soaper. Never measure the temperature. My dish soap is made out of coconut oil and a bit of castor only. Love lard soaps

I did one batch once with goat milk when our goats had babies and remember the ice cubes. I will try it with the water next time. Thank you!
