How To Widen Hips and Reduce Broad Shoulders | 6 Outfits

- This video is about how to widen your hips and reduce broad shoulders. I'm using clothes from Evelina's wardrobe to visually balance her proportions. She used to be a professional swimmer and therefore has very strong shoulders and back. I am showing how silhouettes, colors and accessories change visual perception.
Let me know what would you like to see next!

Does anyone else hate being a inverted triangle, i have such broad shoulders and literally no waist at all. It sucks and nothing looks feminine on me ;-;
Uggh yess
Preach 🙏
same problem ..I realy hate this big shoulder of mine ... and also my big boobs .. urgh ! and I have a small hips and buts .. sucks
I think the thing you can do is has long hair then pull your hair to the front to cover up your shoulder a lil bit. It works for me tho 😂
Im a hour glass....i want to be a pear
I never really noticed my shoulders until about six months ago, and now it’s my BIGGEST insecurity! I feel so oddly shaped! I want wider hips to even it all out but it’s like impossible! My shape makes me feel like a fat man!
You're beautiful❤ Don't worry
Same i thought i was fat but it was just my shoulderz
:( I'm insecure about them too and noticed my broad shoulders like a month ago but then forgot but got reminded today..

I’m in the same boat guys 🥺
ugh I wish I had a pear shape
I do and it's hell.
i have a pear shaped body i have big hips and thighs it might look good but its a pain because jeans rip and its hard to find a pair that fits
Trust me I would choose to have a pear shape body any day
I also have wide shoulders but I don't care I look amazing I would glad if I could show u my pics
I got inspired by Lisa blackpink
@@PlanetJapps wide shoulders and narrow hips are the worst body shape possible for women. u can see in this video even if u "correct" it with dressing sense, u can still clearly spot the particular body type. pear shape stop complaining, u can get away with spaghetti straps, sleeveless, off the shoulder, 80s power sleeve u name and plus big booties are always in if u wanna embrace that too!
🥺 i wish i had a different shape
Me too )); this is not it. I kinda have hip dips and my hips are kinda narrow )): ugh I’ve never seen nobody with my body type
Akira Elai girl sameee ;(
Everyone tells me i should be a swimmer cuz my shoulders are wide i personally dont like how wide they are bcuz it makes me looks so big and it is really hard to find upper body clothing
WelpThat ExplainsIt same struggle.
I feel you i have 46cm shoulders and im 166cm so that way i look freakin huge i feel you gurl 😧
I'm a swimmer and I think that's what made my shoulders so wide..

Same!! People tell me that all the time as if they are complimenting me. So annoying.
I literally started crying because of my bigs shoulders
You're not alone. I've been lamenting on my shoulders since forever. I mean we shouldn't as long as we're healthy and got them but it really makes women feel manly and insecure.
Same, I cry sometimes when I look at myself in the mirror 🙃
Noo :( your body type literally looks perfect in mini summer dresses and plaid school girl skirts
@@anonymoususer5731 yeah it really annoys me, I don’t like feeling manly AT ALL like I want to be with a man and I wanna feel like a real woman small and girly but I can’t it’s just weird to see a bigass manly girl like me trynna act like a girl... so most of the time I’m just quiet and I wanna disappear, even when I’m with my friend or other girls they’re all small, cute and girly and I just feel like the big ogre.
@@anonymoususer5731 and ik that’s nothing compared to others people problems but it really pains me, everytime I go out boys act all cute and nice with the little and cute girl and they don’t even look at me like they ignore me
I honestly hate my body type. I straight up have broad shoulders a big waist and then a skinny butt it’s so unproprotinal
same and i also have no boobs
Man ive got pretty big boobs a defined waist and like no booty or hips
I recognized u from dawnmarie's video
I’ve got everything except hips, a butt and small shoulders so my upper body looks like a Dorito like my upper body is actually just a triangle
I feel like I look 50% a man 50% a woman lmao
I love that you actually use real women for your videos, I mean, no professional models and that's amazing!!
tt you're an ignorant piece of shit. There are many body types.
real women? so female models aren't women too?
Yah I knooow.. So relatable
Professional models are real women too, just because you doesnt look like them, doesn't mean they are not real or that you can throw your insecurities on them.
I have read about these but SEEING it makes a LOT of difference.
I don’t mind having broad shoulders it’s just having no hips that kills me🤦🏽♀️
Same!! If I had hips I could be an hourglass figure but nOOoOoOO
We all agree haha so sad
I have hips not much but my broad sholders ate the problem for me😑
My favorite girl is wide shoulders.... They can be so dam sexy if they adding more muscle in certain places
Sameee if I had hios it would even it out
I like how everyone in the comments is depressed

Having the inverted triangle body type makes you depressed

I love every choice you made for her. Not only it hides her broad shoulder, you bring out colors that makes her look more youthful, especially the one with the orange cardigan.
And the last outfit not only makes her look slimmer, but also taller.
If only you’re my personal stylist, it would be great XD
Oh, and please tell her that she has great legs.

I really hate my wide shoulder. My friends like how I uniquely dress and my sense of fashion, they don't know how hard it is to find clothes that would match my body.

I hate my broad shoulder. I look like a men from behind. I have a hard time when to choose what clothes to buy. Thank you for this tips. Just discover this video.
Try to wear skirts/dresses that are wider on the lower part of your body
my broad shoulders make me feel like a goddamn hunchback it’s so annoying argghhg

I'm a guy and I just wanted to say that women with broad shoulders can be very attractive!! I'm sorry many of you feel ashamed of it, but I know other guys that are attracted to broader shoulders too.
If you feel upset about your body though, my advice would be to exercise and get bigger thighs and butt. That will definitely make you look like you have a bigger lower half.
Thanks for the nice words, but I have a feeling you're sugar coating it to make us feel better.
I know you're trying to be kind, you're a really great person for that but it still feels like it's for sympathy.
Love you hunny so sweet

@@ramennoodles2589 no ! He is right ! You can make yojr butt and hips bigger and make you look as if you actually have wider hips
@@ramennoodles2589 If your thigs and buttocks get bigger, then you literally become heavier around your abdomen, which helps in balancing out a wide shoulder. If you have narrow hips, then you will never look truly busty from ONE ANGLE. A human being is not just a 2D figure, any additional muscle will show up somehow in a potentially flattering way. I really, really suggest working out the leg and butt muscles for anyone who is an inverted triangle. Any little change will feel like something, and you will be proud of yourself.
And he is right, many girls with broad shoulder can and are looking attractive. It's mostly their demeanor and the aura they have.
I suggest you checking out Aly Art's videos on the 13 body types and other informational ones to see that you, me and others have a place in this world as women or just beautiful beings.
see if i had larger hips or something they wouldn’t look so long lmao
Yup and longer legs would somehow help
For a female with a boyish figure....who got carried away with arm workouts....this is definitely for me. lol

Since I don’t know how to style the upper body, I wear clothes that are flare on the bottom. My mom straight up tells me when something doesn’t look good on me but every time I wear a fit and flare dress she tells me it hides my skinny legs and it makes me look “full” on the bottom. I started wearing flare dresses 👗 and skirts. I never wore a bikini before but I finally found ones on amazon that are perfect to me. It makes me feel “girly” it hides my stomach, it’s flare on the bottom and it’s just pretty!
My very very long interpretation of the video (from a broad shouldered woman):
Example #1: In the before outfit, shoulder pads and boxy look of the blazer accentuate her broad shoulders. From what I can see, the lapels on this blazer are ok for broad shoulders. Generally speaking, you can wear lapels/collars for a blazer as long as it's narrow but I prefer to go lapel/collarless. In the after outfit, the new blazer doesn't have the protruding shoulder pads and has an overall soft curvature throughout (vs the straight lines of the black blazer) to round out the shoulders/top half. The shirt underneath is a scoop neck top-(v/scoop necklines draw attention away from the broad shoulders and put it towards the center of the body), Bold shorter necklaces work well with a scoop neck top and help to take up the negative space (the exposed skin) of the neckline. I think the pants could have stayed the same but I do see how the blue jeans work to balance out the general lightness of the whole outfit and the black slim pants might do the opposite and make the lower half of her look narrower. I think you could also sub in grey trousers with a straight leg or bootleg cut (though you might have to change the flat shoes) if you wanted to. The light blazer as well as the bold necklace and slim jeans are great examples of how just because you have broad shoulders, it doesn't mean you can't wear a light coloured top or slimmer pants or have bold jewelry around the neck.
Example #2: The before outfits is a body hugging grey bodycon dress- which makes the narrow hips look more prominent and the high neckline draws attention to the neck and thus the shoulders because the eyes will tend to focus towards the sides with the horizontal line created. The second outfit is a fit and flare dress (classic dress for broad shoulders) which adds volume to the lower half of her and balances her overall frame. Jewel/Crew neckline are ok for broad shoulders and are well paired with long necklaces. The long necklaces draw attention to the center of the body (kind of like a continuation of an elongated v-neckline). In my personal opinion, I think the dress hem line would look nicer if it hit just above the knee and a waist belt could be added as well (I am biased and love waist belts) but I understand that it might clash with the long necklaces.
Example #3: Ah, the DREADED RUFFLED TOPS. One of the most difficult tops to wear for broad shoulder as it puts a lot of volume on the top half of the body. I actually really like the dress/top from the waist down as it adds volume to the lower half and the print is just cute overall. The orange cardigan in the after outfit suits her skin tone and the slims the ruffles in the sleeves creating a more streamline look in the arms. Open cardigans (without ruffles down the middle) that hit at the hip or go below it balance out the top half as well as create vertical lines going down the center of the whole torso. The neckline is changed from dramatic ruffles to a v-neck while the waist belt accentuates the waist. Also the break of the exposed skin/ nude colored pantyhose between the dark dress and the black thigh high boots help to draw the eye's attention to her legs/the lower half of her body.
Example #4: At first, one might think that Evelina's is following the classic rules of dressing for broad shoulders- dark on top and light on bottoms. However, like example #2, the body hugging skirt isn't the best for an inverted triangle body type. The after outfit has a flared skater skirt (volume on bottom)- the hemline still goes to around mid thigh like the white skirt and works with the ankle booties (as ankle booties will naturally want to shorten the look of your legs, so a shorter skirt/dress can make up for that). The dividing line between the shirt and the skirt is lowered in the after outfit which helps to elongate the torso and balance the shoulders. Long necklaces seen again like from Example #2. Also, putting Evelina's long flowing hair the front as seen in the after outfit kinda works like wearing a top with wide straps where is actually does take attention away from the shoulders (thin straps do the opposite). LOL I do this with strapless dresses or dresses with thin straps and it actually works.
Example #5: I like the colours of the tops in the before and after outfits. The green top just has a boat/off shoulder neckline and sleeves are the elbows so the horizontal lines created draws the eyes outward to the shoulders and top half in general. The pink top just has a v-neckline and sleeves going all the way to the wrists which are at the level of her hips so the eye goes there. Generally speaking, longer tops work well with broad shoulders- like the cardigan in Example #3. A good example of how just because you have broad shoulders, you can still wear black skinny jeans (I love my black skinnies) it just depends more on what top you wear. The boots with the chunky block heel also help to balance the look and draw attention to the feet.
Example #6: The before outfit has a white baggy top making the torso look wider and black skinny pants (making the legs look thinner). Use the traditional method and switch it around for broad shoulders- so black slim top and looser lighter coloured bottoms.
Final word:
I know....very long post (lol probably TLDR). Example #3 really blew my mind with that ruffled top. I thought that would be impossible. On a last note, I'm a bit saddened while reading some of the comments to hear so many people hate/dislike their broad shoulders. Yes, it can be a pain to make it work (especially with my arch nemesis- the button up shirt WITHOUT tailoring) but it's very doable once you get the concepts down on fit and proportion and you don't even need to spend a lot of money to look fabulous. It takes time and sometimes lots of trial and error (I know, I've been there) but I really hope that people who watch this awesome video are inspired to go out and try new outfits and learn to love their beautiful shoulders and their bodies in general.
Thank you

Love this!! Always had trouble dressing up and felt hopeless I’d ever look good in anything! Thanks 🙏🏽
I have the exact same body type!! I'm quite skinny, but my hips are so small that my legs still stick together no matter what... and any pullover or blouse makes my shoulders look humongous, I can't tuck anything into my trousers either since it looks ugly around my waist

I just do the shoulders back thing, makes me look more petite and helps with my posture

omg me too!! my shoulders aren’t that broad but by doing that it makes my shoulders look incredibly small!!!
petite means short lol, what u mean

I sort of like this and it makes a huge difference (very deceiving) but then I feel like a poor chilled chicken trying to tuck in its wings as close to its body as possible or like a vulture because it raises your shoulders up and shortens your neck somehow 🤣😂 plus it gets tiring after a while. I feel unnatural and awful doing this in front of the people I know well. If only there was a way to make this a permanent posture without even trying it would be great. :(
Okay girl
by reading those comments stop being upset and depressed.
It's alright to have triangle shaped body or pear shaped body. It's look beautiful when you will start becoming you, and when you starts becoming you, You starts looking confident.
And yeah confident makes a girl beautiful ♡

this video is about inverted triangles not pears lol plus it's not that easy to just stop being insecure.
I have always hated my figure, broad shoulders and narrow hips, I used to envy curvy girls because they looked so feminine "I still do btw" but I decided to practice and 6 months of targeting my hips and butt made my body change more or less now I have a nice rounded butt and slightly curved hips.. if you hate how your body looks don't stop there, love it and it will love you back (also practice) that'll help 😅😅😅
Yeah I'm gonna go those lower half workouts like crazy and continie my healthy diet!
I'll just try to avoid upper body workouts for my arms and save up for clavical reduction surgery to permanently reduce my broad shoulders and get some fat transfer to my arms to make them appear less muscular
I hate my bored shoulders😞
It's maks me sad because I can't wear the clothes i love 💔
This is my bodytype and I love it ❤
Thank you for this video! I have broad shoulders and I found this to be very helpful.
Tips don’t wear skinny jeans with shoulder showing. Always wear something loose. For example if tight pants loose shirt, if tight shirt loose pants. Never wear spaghetti straps. If you’ve got long hair throw it over your shoulders. Flare out skirts and dresses are your friend, pencil skirts are not. Off the shoulder tops are fine.
Exactly
I always do this. Tight pants with loose top is my go to safe outfit 😂
I have one shirt with spaghetti straps at JUST the right place that make my shoulders look so small! Most look awful on me, but that one is just amazing.
Thanks I guess.....

I love my broad shoulders and slim hips because my body type holds up well over time (I’m 69)! It is a strong look and I like that! If we gain a few lbs it barely shows! It's doesn't matter what I do, my shoulders always stand out. I use to be chubby and I've worked so hard to lose weight. This may sound silly but i used clothes as one of my motivations. Very helpful
I have slightly larger shoulders than my hips, so i am just barely inverted triangle, but I found wearing joggers and flare skirts helped because they made my hips look wider. Finding things that work for my shoulders though are harder, I found that some tight shirts work if the sleeve/ shoulder seam endes right at the edge of your shoulders bc that way it doesn’t look like you shoulders are too tight for it. As well, I like straight necklines on tight shirts especially if they are cropped bc that way it can sorta pull attention from your shoulder size to showing off your torso. I find that tight shirts really work for me so there’s no extra space that was making my torso look bigger. I hope these work for some other people too.
