Oh my god. I have ALWAYS been a person who hated taking photos because I'd go from feeling like a 7 to a 3-4. I usually watch these kinds of videos because of my insecurities. I like how I don’t feel bad about myself while also finding a way to improve myself when watching this channel 🥰
yes and no. It seems like the lack of research of the channel's part but there is a process on how and why korean celebs look so good on camera AND in person. Like fixing asymmetry, face size, shape, cheekbones by massage, exercise, etc.

Yes! I'm starting to see my own natural beauty and it helps me not to compare myself to others and I feel so good as I watch videos from this channel! 🎉❤
I learnt another thing while taking my photos. The color of the light also matters. I have a more tanned skin tone so I mindlessly took photos in a yellowish colored light which actually resulted in some of my best photos. So everyone please always check which light color suits your skin tone the best!
@Aprille Wu Hm! Blue and white would be great options but as said in the video don't let the light be harsh or too close to you or it might be messy....and if I think about it now when I was taking my photos all the other lights were off with just the right amount of natural light coming in so maybe try to turn off all the lights other than the blue/white light source and keep them at a distance so they are dimmed. Hope it helps you! Nonetheless always remember that you're beautiful and should love yourself 🫶✨
I was confused by people saying they avoided direct sunlight when their skin was broken out and preferred cloudy days, bc I look so much better in the sun vs. overcast light which seems to bring out my flaws… this comment made me realize that they must have had cool undertones, whereas mine are very warm!
Could you guys make a video about choosing the correct foundation, concelar and contour based on the undertones? i am struggling with these😩😩+ this is such a helpful video!
Haley Kim has some videos on best foundation color tips here on YT. My advice is, you should pay attention to what shadow your skintone creates when you're straight standing in front of clear sky light. The shadow color it creates is the color you should contour with. And go with a concealer shade that is the same undertone (for example, if you're medium skintone with olive undertone, go with the same shade in concealer as your foundation shade. If you want lighter shade for concealer, get a shade that's your undertone but in the lighter spectrum on shade category). Alot of talk, but I hope you got something :)
One good thing to know about asymmetrical faces: a perfectly symmetrical face just does not exist. In fact, when presented with a computer-made perfectly symmetrical face, opposed to a normal asymmetrical one, the majority of people will see the latter as more beautiful. Your face being asymmetrical is your face being human, embrace it!
My biggest (face) insecurity is my double chin, and I hated that I had to delete almost all my photos because of it.I felt extremely frustrated mostly because in the mirror my double chin is barely visible, yet in photos it was very obvious.I even stopped taking photos because I don't know how to look photogenic, but this video helped me a lot!
@사랑, 원영 💗 I think it’s similar to mewing. But I actually do double chin exercises. One for example I pretend to “kiss the ceiling”. Lol. I do about 3 sets of 60 3x a week. It reallyyyyy works. And for the rest of the day and when I sleep at night I try to keep my tongue pressed against the roof of my mouth and breath through my nose.
@@user-jf7ej5py1u can you describe the “kissing the ceiling” and can you explain how many times you do it again? I dont really understand, my apologies
Omg, I'm shocked by the lens distortion thing! I've previously taken cinema classes so I've been taught all about how directors use lens distortions to enhance the narrative. But it never crossed my mind that my phone camera works the same way! I feel like a doofus now, but also very enlightened. Thank you for the great content!
The Len distortion part was soooo helpful! Will forever take my selfies arm length now! I usually like taking selfies on the Snapchat camera but now I feel comfortable using the iPhone front camera! (12 pro max) I look sooo much better! I can always zoom in to make it look like I’m closer and not be distorted! Awesome! Thank you sooo much!! I’m gonna continue to take more selfies 😅
so THIS is what a pro of iPhone! the lens? I never really understood why it's so demanded, I'm tired of getting reviews like Samsung ult21 is better than Iphone... IK something special is in it
I want to say thank you so much for this video, recently I have lost so much confidence in my face cause I look so bad in every single picture I take. When I look in the mirror, I look 90x better and I feel so pretty, but when I look in the camera I feel ugly and like a completely different person. Even when people say I look pretty in person I feel like they’re all lying cause when I look at myself I feel so unattractive. So because of this I’ve gotten addicted to using filters on my face and I can’t take pictures without them now. I’m trying to stop and accept my face for what it is and go through a confidence journey again. I really really needed this video. I’ll truly take this advice, Thank you so much and for everyone who reads this comment and relates, I hope we all find our confidence soon.
Same thing for me, I've started avoiding taking pictures altogether because of it, it's strange, because I don't necessarily have any problems with my appearance unless it's captured in pictures.. I'm hoping this video helps overcome my fear of cameras😅 good luck to you , too😊
People always tell me why I look better when they see me in real life compared to the photo I have. And everything was answered in this video. I did all the thing that shouldn't be done in a selfies :( Hench, this is why my best selfies usually candid or when I smile with full laughter on it! Thanks for the tips I will try it from now on
Where was this channel during my teen years? Now I'm in college, and following the tips by dear peachie has bumped up my facial confidence levels to a 10. This is hands down the best glow up channel on the internet. Love you guys for making well researched content! ❤❤
I love how much of a safe space your channel feels. It's calming, you clearly know your stuff, you make the point you want to help us look better, but do it in a way that makes sure we know that we were beautiful already.
My picture smile has always been so awkward when others take pictures for me. I unconsciously smile a way that I think benefits me most when I take selfies, but it takes me a while to get there and I never remember it by the next time I take a picture. Im soo happy the smile issue was addressed 😭
Omg and the clothing section! I had noticed wearing long hair made me look too clunky around the shoulders and couldn't figure out why! That's an valuable tip!
Thank you for making videos that give practical information as well as the encouragement to love ourselves! Your videos have given me the confidence and motivation to improve myself^^
This video was SO DAMN HELPFUL!!! For a very long tike i’ve been feeling unphotogenic for a while now and i’m pretty sure it’s because i just lost my skill at posing in front of the camera. This really helped me freshen up my poses and understand my face and angles all over again!! Thank you so much Peachie really!!! I cant wait to take more pics!
Holy shit, I've always been insecure of my teeth since my family doesn't have the money to fix how it's protruding but I find that the diffusing smile fits me best!! Never tried that since I have the tendency to smile horizontally! I think it works best for those with shorter chin lengths and protruding or shorter (gum more exposed when smiling widely) teeth.
Girl same my teeth ruin my smile so I'll be getting Invisalign or something soon ish but I tend to smile so that my teeth don't or barely show. It's funny because back in school, the photographer would say smile wider and my mouth is still closed lmao.
Another great video! Personally, I've always struggled with my appearance. How good I should look all the time. But for some reason, despite how much I try to pay attention to my appearance, I still wouldnt look good whenever I took a candid photo where I couldn't choose 1 out of 100 photos I took of myself. Eventually, I realized I was trying too hard. I realized I looked the best if I gave a big, genuine smile on the camera. It didnt matter if the angle was good or bad or if it showed how bad my skin was, I just needed to look confident, and eventually I stopped caring about the little things. All pictures of myself look good to me now.

Thanks so much for this 😭 my sis took a photo of me and said my facial expression looks like I’ve seen a ghost and I’m always very awkward when taking photos 😔 but I’ll remember what I’ve learned from this video when taking photos again 😊
Thanks for existing and for making this channel. I'll tell you what I discovered on my own the other day: 1. Lighting is everything. I look much better when I have bright lights or any sorts and no shadows. 2. Angles are everything. You said looking directly into the camera makes you stiff, and so does taking your pictures like you're taking a mugshot.
This is my fav beauty channel! 💗 All videos are simple, sweet, and easy to follow. They’re all very pleasing to watch and I like that everything here is researched then compiled and translated in a way that’s easy for the viewers to understand. What you’re doing is so helpful, thank you so much! ☺️💖
Thank you so much for this video. I have not taken great photos in the past because I have forgotten how to smile. It always looked like I was angry. I didn't know what to do with my hands or body. I never chose the right outfit colors or shapes. I feel excited now to try smiling, thank you for making me feel this is something I have the ability to do better than I used to.
Tsuki from Billlie has such great photos of herself, idk how she does it but her face always looks slimmer the way the camera pans down on her face. In her videos her face is a bit chubbier (like a rabbit) so I was wondering how she does it haha
i think her face looks chubbier in videos because she smiles and laughs a lot in them, but on photos she doesn't smile as much or smiles more gently! or maybe it's just the editing
She probably uses an app that slightly slims her face (most idols probably use things like that). It's common in Korea since that's the standard. I mean the Snow app is used a lot. Some phones also automatically have a whitening and slimming effect on the front camera (like my Samsung phone). It could also be the angle of the photos or that she's not smiling so her cheeks are slimmer than when she is smiling.
your videos have been so helpful to me. i'm about to be a senior in high school, and since i'm on summer break rn, i'm trying my best to get as much time i can to recuperate my self-image and learn how to make myself feel and look good. i hope you realize how much you have been able to impact and influence the way people see themselves. it is truly a gift.
Omg the distortion part was really helpful I couldn’t understand why my selfies looked so off for the longest time 😅 I feel more confident now to take more photos
Okay you actually save my life thank you! I have never been able to find that angle that makes me look so cute and hot but i finally did and i look so good in photos thank you omg >.
I have a horizontal smile naturally and it makes me look awful when I smile 🤧 And for some reason my lip corners are down when I'm genuinely smiling and it just looks...weird. My round face gets even rounder, my nose appears even bigger and so on. I tried vertical smile and it looks so good! I'll def use it if I ever decide to take selfies lol And I always noticed that I look better in the mirror than on camera, I think it's the distortion.
WAH, THIS IS LITERALLY THE SAME CASE FOR ME. Horizontal smile is my natural smile, though my round face also gets wider, and i dont show my teeth cause its looks bad. when i also tried the vertical smile, i kept smiling cause it looks great on me!
Omg I need this so much! Thank you! Sometimes just when I thought I look cute in the mirror, my random photos and videos just drag me back to reality and make me feel so bad. I question myself do I really look like THAT?
I can't thank you enough for this smile section. I'm over 30 still struggle with smiling. My smile look forced. Never take pictures with my mouth closed.
this is seriously the most helpful channel ever. its so gentle and smart, truly a lifesaver. i don't know where id be without your tips dear peachie!!^^
I love youuuu 😭 to the creator of the video I've always been insecure when I smile my face gets wider I look ugly with it even I have bunny teeth with bunny cheeks 😭 i thought I was born ugly I felt ashamed to smile or laugh but then when I tried your smiling tips I realised the vertical smile suited me and i do not look ugly at all in this smile my face looks longer and my teeth do not show up that much ilyyyy😭😭😭💕💕💕💕💕
i'm in my mid-20s and while I'm def not old it's still a little embarrassing that I don't know how to look good in photos! so this video is PERFECT and I wish I had such tutorials growing up (I was even scouted as a model for one job and the poor photographer STRUGGLED because of my awkward posing and expressions!! it was so embarrassing I decided I would never model again lol)
Take some acting lessons, you'll do great afterwards. And buy a bunch of mirrors. You have to look at yourself in the mirror and pose with your face and body.
Thank you for this video!! Even though i have small nose, my front cam always made my nose look big and i even considered getting plastic surgery because of it. Now that i know why i feel much better about myself. 😌♥
I definitely smiled while seeing the diffuse smile pictures I think the horizontal smile might suit me the most since when I tried doing that once someone told me I'm very photogenic! Which had never happened before I'll definitely try the other ways Great video!!
The horizontal smile is more natural to me, but after watching so many TikToks (actually on UA-cam cos I don't have TikTok) I find a lot of people on there have very wide open and beautiful smiles. After watching so many of them I actually started naturally smiling more like them. It wasn't done consciously, though I did feel the change because I was using slightly different muscles. Now when I'm very happy my smile goes straight to that wide open 'diffusing' smile. I also feel more attractive when I smile this way, though I've yet to test how photogenic this smile is compared to my horizontal smile. It always feels good to see a Dear Peachie video about the same things you've noticed about yourself, though! 😁 The poses I really needed though, I'm always just smiling or throwing up a peace sign but some of my friends who like taking selfies often really hate it because my every picture looks the same 😅
This was so helpful! Though… I can’t tell which smile is best for me because I’ve been wearing a leafy face mask the whole time, but I CAN tell that I will definitely need to find videos on how to train my cheek muscles since I can’t move them without using the rest of my face, and it makes my face look scrunched when I try. What’s wrong with my cheek muscles is the same thing as why you can’t put your pinky finger all the way down without the ring ringer following. When I try to move my cheek muscles in any way, the rest of my face moves with it and I physically can’t stop it
i should've watched this before taking my id photo😭 in my id photo, i smiled too wide (horizontal) and it made my nose and jaw look MUCH wider. It also made my lips look thinner and my eyes smaller. I had no top lip and it looked like i was squinting really hard in the photo. I should've done something more natural like the vertical smile. Thank you so much for enlightening me! will definitely keep in mind for next year's id photo haha!
Thank you so much peachy, this is so useful. I am aware of the lens distortion thing but not really deep so that's why idk how to control it properly. And as an Exo-l, I'll always laugh when Sehun is used for example as bad at selfie bc it's true lol
Hey dear peachier I have a video suggestion! 💕 This could be a bit weird or hard to make but could you possibly make a video on how to get the best nails for you? Like colour shape length etc I recently got my nails done and I love the colour but feel like it doesn’t suit me 😔
dear peachieee, the only beauty channel that i trust, thank you for this GREAT video ❤️ it's so well-researched and the editing is so cute, i really appreciate your effort to make this video 🥺 ✨️ please stay healthy sweetie 💕

Important note about lens distortion: you can use this to your advantage. If you have a large forehead and small chin, hold your phone below your chin to make your face appear more balanced. If you have a small forehead and large chin, hold it above your eye level.

your videos have been so helpful to me. i'm about to be a senior in high school, and since i'm on summer break rn, i'm trying my best to get as much time i can to recuperate my self-image and learn how to make myself feel and look good. i hope you realize how much you have been able to impact and influence the way people see themselves. it is truly a gift.
Omg the distortion part was really helpful I couldn’t understand why my selfies looked so off for the longest time 😅 I feel more confident now to take more photos
Okay you actually save my life thank you! I have never been able to find that angle that makes me look so cute and hot but i finally did and i look so good in photos thank you omg >.
this channel is GOLD💖
can't believe all this is free
wowww thank you for all your effort with this, insane level of details!! you're wonderful
This video is so good at explaining WHY photos come out weird. It makes me motivated to go out and take more pictures lol. Great video!!
I am so weird, if I look too ugly in pictures I get sad, but if I get too pretty I feel like I would be misleading people… why am I like this
I WAS CRYING BECAUSE I LOOKED SO BAD IN SELFIES but the lens distortion thing totally changed my life im so grateful TYSMMM!!!!
You posted exactly what I needed 💗 Thank you for the tips 🥰
this channel gives me confidence. thank you so much
Whoever made this video is a genius, the selfie hack and distortions at the edges of the camera are a game changer
I'll def use it if I ever decide to take selfies lol
And I always noticed that I look better in the mirror than on camera, I think it's the distortion.
WAH, THIS IS LITERALLY THE SAME CASE FOR ME. Horizontal smile is my natural smile, though my round face also gets wider, and i dont show my teeth cause its looks bad.
when i also tried the vertical smile, i kept smiling cause it looks great on me!
OMG STOP SAME I TRIED IT AND OMG
Dear peachie is saving lives
You look better when you stay yourself 💗💗✨
This channel is really out here building our confidence for free
Omg I need this so much! Thank you! Sometimes just when I thought I look cute in the mirror, my random photos and videos just drag me back to reality and make me feel so bad. I question myself do I really look like THAT?
The 1st tip finding best angle and the last lens distortion tip was really helpful ❤️❤️
Thanks this video had changed so much in the way I looked in photos ❤❤❤
i really wanna gatekeep this channel but you deserve all the recognition for the work that you do
I can't thank you enough for this smile section. I'm over 30 still struggle with smiling. My smile look forced. Never take pictures with my mouth closed.
Thissss Chanelllll I can’t explain how much I love it 😭 it’s like they know what problem I have and post a solution for it everytime
this is seriously the most helpful channel ever. its so gentle and smart, truly a lifesaver. i don't know where id be without your tips dear peachie!!^^
THANK YOU FOR THIS graduation pictorials are coming up and I was thinking how would I smile huhu
You are life saver!! This is what celebrity education get to be behind the camera. No other source explain this to me in one full video. Love this ❤
The more I watch, the more certain I am this is the best channel on youtube
I looove this channel, it's very useful for me rn that I'm trying to have a physical and mental glow up
I love your channel so much
I TRIED THEM DUDEEEEEEEE IM SO THANKFUL TO FINALLY DISCOVER MY HIDDEN BEAUTY THANKS
i'm in my mid-20s and while I'm def not old it's still a little embarrassing that I don't know how to look good in photos! so this video is PERFECT and I wish I had such tutorials growing up
(I was even scouted as a model for one job and the poor photographer STRUGGLED because of my awkward posing and expressions!! it was so embarrassing I decided I would never model again lol)
I definitely smiled while seeing the diffuse smile pictures
I think the horizontal smile might suit me the most since when I tried doing that once someone told me I'm very photogenic! Which had never happened before
I'll definitely try the other ways
Great video!!
This is soo informative! I hope you can make more of these videos in the future!!! Love it
Pleaseee a video of factions concentrated in the center and factions that are wide, how to style and balance 🥺🥺
And I totally love this video 💖💖💖
The bestest ever channel to improve your personality ♥️
The poses I really needed though, I'm always just smiling or throwing up a peace sign but some of my friends who like taking selfies often really hate it because my every picture looks the same 😅
Damn! Yesterday i was searching up how to be more photogenic, and lookie here! A video on how to be photogenic
I needed this, thank you very much ❤❤❤
taking selfie’s with other ppl is so awkward for me so i hope this video helps me 😭😭🤞
This was so helpful! When I try to move my cheek muscles in any way, the rest of my face moves with it and I physically can’t stop it
Omg, I cannot emphasize how helpful this channel is! Thanks a lot for taking up basic topics like this one.
can you please make a video on how to dress according to body shapes? 🥺💜
I really love the vertical smile, i think it suits my ‘intimidating’ yet pretty hot look
This is the first video i have seen from you channel and it totally changed my selfie game! Thank you dear peachie ❤
How dystopian is that I'm watching this video
I'm literally watching a "how to smile right" tutorial
@@vasilisablud its just about how to look better on photos, nothing deep
this is really not jjust a game changer but a life changer for me. You guys dont know how much it helped my confidence😭 tysm! Keep going!
i should've watched this before taking my id photo😭 in my id photo, i smiled too wide (horizontal) and it made my nose and jaw look MUCH wider.
This could be a bit weird or hard to make but could you possibly make a video on how to get the best nails for you? Like colour shape length etc
I recently got my nails done and I love the colour but feel like it doesn’t suit me 😔
dear peachieee, the only beauty channel that i trust, thank you for this GREAT video ❤️ it's so well-researched and the editing is so cute, i really appreciate your effort to make this video 🥺 ✨️ please stay healthy sweetie 💕
Hii 😃 so about just a year ago a lot of people would advice me not to wear makeup because of poor skill and they said it just wasn’t for me 😞 than i tried to improve my skill and this channel actually helped 😊 now i have been going to function feeling beautiful ✨ but i really suck at posing and i don’t have good photos … thanks for the advices im gonna use them😃👍👍
I’m so happy I found this channel !

this helped immediately! thank you!
This is also really helpful for art too, especially if you don't know what to do with a character or how to pose it! These tips will help thank you :]
SUCH A USEFUL VIDEO!!!! thank you so muchhh, it's all perfect and simple to understand, i love it your editing skills btw😽😽
wow thamks a lot, lots of steps and guides but the struggle is real so ill try this tips.
i love how dear peachie keeps being relevant and has many useful tips that aren’t basic! thanks
I love you so much for this video, its very helpful. Thank you!!
Important note about lens distortion: you can use this to your advantage. If you have a large forehead and small chin, hold your phone below your chin to make your face appear more balanced. If you have a small forehead and large chin, hold it above your eye level.
This is such a wonderful message. I also struggle with camera issues.
I love this channel so so so much it’s so much more helpful than any other channel
thank you so much for this video 😭😭😭!!! so much good information i didn't know before and will definitely use
this channel is life saving
