Just love how we are teaching our young blokes a boilermaker trade keep the good work up DMW 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
Cheers Allan, thanks for watching!
I met you when I worked at Matt's offroad recovery and you came in and saw the wrecker we were building. Now I work for Heavy D, nice build bud!
That's cool! Thanks for tuning in, mate!
Great to see the "older" guys taking the time and showing the young blokes how to do this sort of stuff. Priceless life skill. Loving the Jeep build. Giving me some bad ideas tho
Right on! Thanks for watching, @marksmith3631 . Cheers!
Rueben I think its great getting your son involved in learning how to do this sort of work and teaching him how to weld and grind keep up the good work mate still love your patrol y62 it's a beast and look forward to when you bring it out again cheers
Thanks Brad! We do too, the Y62 is a different kind for sure. :)
RESPECT to you young fella !!
Teach em young our future engineers !!
Thank you @713919🙂
You need to add part 3 to this
My advice as someone who’s owned several Jeeps and worked on a many of Jeeps, get rid of that front axle 4 wheel drive actuator. Take it and the two piece shaft out and replace it with a blank off plate and a one piece shaft. Those split shaft and electric actuators are the first thing to go. I’d trust a wet fart before I’d trust that electric actuator hanging off the axle
Thanks for the advice, @ethanmcleod8819 . :) Appreciate that!
true 4x4 enthusiast, doesn't matter what you drive, enjoy those Dirty Muddy Weekends, and get out there
100%! Happy dirty muddy weekend to you @graemeprocter3739 👍
Variety is the spice of life.
Totally agree! Never limit yourself.
Man this build just keeps getting better and better.
Keep up the awesome content 🤙🏼
Thank you @shaunedwards4312🙏
This jeep is going to be a monster 💪.....DMW👌
Thanks Clive, it is an absolute beast, mate! Thanks for tuning in. :)
you can use a tube on one side of the spreader and a thread with a nut on the other. or if you want to get really flash get two tie rod ends and the adjuster sleeve off a car.
i wouldn't trust a porta power not to stretch the housing as you only want to spread the pumpkin a few thou. and don't worry you can get the centre in and out without a spreader if you had to do it in a pinch.
also the stock axles are crhomoly, but unfortunately the australian ones got cv axles not the stronger u-joint axles. so you could upgrade to genuine spicer u-joint axles and get rid of the centre axle disconnect (cad)
Great info. Thanks for sharing @6226superhurricane. Cheers!
farout mate, alot of work in those diffs. Can’t wait to see it wheeling👍🏽👍🏽
Thanks @Fitzy6722 .
Is this the same diff that you broke in the high country?
If you put a box end wrench on one of the ring gear bolt. Rotate it till it hits the top of the case. You can gently rotate it out with a prybar. 60% of the time it works 100% of the time. Then just use a dead blow to reinstall.
Thanks for sharing that @toddmarvosh4105
Get yourself a US made aluminium tie rod and drag link you’ll never break them
Thanks for the advice @MrChippy04.
Haven’t touched revolution gears for the JT but for the JK and newer Jeeps we try to only use Spicer gears as they use a newer 2step hobbing process over the older 5step that cheap aftermarket gears use. Generally faster setup and never a noisy set. Turns out the guys that designed the diff make pretty good parts for it. I’m at 80k miles on one and 65k on the other with no issues with the center axle disconnect but if you are worried Dana/Spicer does sell a chromo replacement 1 piece long side shaft.
That's great. Thanks for the info @krisolof7998
Ole boy is like 7ft tall!! 😮
He is tall, that's for sure.
7/10's good enuf 😂 ya ruff bastard haha mus b a prick of a job, ole mate wasnt keen to go again
😂
What diff ratio you end up running? 4.88?
Get used to working on that "heap"...
😊
100 000 km zero issue with our Jeep. 🤣🤣
Hahahaha. You're learning the #Jeeplife well. The teeth are going to leave the chat anyway so don't waste time.
Did you do a dana 60 swap?
Not yet @cricry
@@dirtymuddyweekends considering how Reuben drives, might be a worthwhile investment
I wish my dad taught me how to weld. Unfortunately, the only skill I've got from him is the only one he's a master of - being an asshole.
That's a valuable experience mate. Never too late to turn it into a positive. ✊
