    • @jesseleesamples
      @jesseleesamples 2 місяці тому +3

      That’s been true except for when Ben left. That one was very different. It was barely even mentioned, and Ben wasn’t even in the video to talk about it and has never been around since. There was definitely some sort of falling out there. I think it depends on the circumstances of why people leave. Other channels I’ve watched will say when and why people are leaving, except when there’s a falling out of some sort, which is the same thing that’s happened on this channel. Sometimes it’s just not easy to talk about why someone left.

    • @pieterv6984
      @pieterv6984 2 місяці тому

      @@jesseleesamples I see what you mean. Though I remember his wife being on in a clip explaining further. If those were the real reasons mentioned, I don't know. I also find it a bit odd we didn't get the explanation from Ben himself. That he's not around might also be influenced by him living further away? Anyhow, yes there are some differences there. But at least we get a notification and some sort of explanation. I don't know if you watch Matt's off-road recovery? There it seems to be a rule that people disappear into thin air.

    • @MaxsGarajMahal
      @MaxsGarajMahal 2 місяці тому +1

      I believe Ben leaving was several matters however this is my simple conjecture. Distance traveling, living in a camper, building a house for his family, being left more and more to do dirty jobs. I appreciate Paul's kids feeling they needed to be supported in school activities, but then too, you can only leave a business so much before you loose employees unless you are making sure you are giving them plenty of monetary support, sharing in the booty that comes from sponsors, review company booty, profits and a few other things. Sharing the wealth heels a lot of time away from the shop when someone feels appreciated in all those ways.
      Miss Ben in the shop, also miss Ben in the shop with Sean and Hunter. Now the three that has really grown the channel since they all came aboard have flown the coup and doubtfully will return. Wish Paul and family all the best.

    • @jesseleesamples
      @jesseleesamples 2 місяці тому +2

      @@pieterv6984 His wife said a little bit about it but it was easy to see that there was a lot more to it than they were letting on. The fact that the guy himself never really said what was going on was really odd. Whatever happened seems to have caused a rift and that’s sad. Sometimes we’re not owed an explanation for everything tho. Sometimes things are personal and the people involved may not wish for it to be everyone on the internet’s business. Yes I watch MORR, and most of the time anyone leaves, it’s talked about quite a bit and shown on video. I’m not really sure how you think that everyone just leaves and never gets talked about again cause that’s just not true. Sometimes the people involved may not want their business put out to the world tho. The only instance I can think of where someone left and wasn’t talked about and was never seen again later was Randy. That was pretty early on tho and I think since then they’ve tried to always let the audience know if people are leaving and why.

    Hunter, I wish you the best! Paul, I have some priorities for an overland build (if it were my personal overlander). 400-500W portable solar generator. This could power the mini fridge, charging duties for laptop, drone, phones, and lights. Slide-in camp kitchen. I’ve seen some pretty good setups that fold up and slide into the back of vehicles with similar real estate in the back of that Willys. Mounts for Rotopax fuel and water cells. Pressurized external water tank that can be mounted on the pop-tent frame. On-board air compressor. And the number one thing I see people forget on overlanders: a spare tire and mount. Just some ideas…

    Hunter & Shawn will be missed! When Hunter came to FabRats he was so green but he’s really grown! Now he’s capable of building or repairing a vehicle. I certainly don’t blame him for getting a college degree. I didn’t complete my degree until I was 36 and had 2 children and that was tough but worth the struggle! I wish Hunter & Shawn the BEST!

    Time goes on and people move on with it.
    All the best to them.
    As an overland er in the Middle East with a 76 Series Landcrusier, I travel light to stay on top of the sand.
    The only items mounted to the truck are:
    A 270° Bat wing awning, a fridge and air compressor. I I carry a portable inverter that's solar chargeable to keep batteries and fridge running.
    A portable fire pit with a grill.
    One skillet, one cast iron Dutch oven, granite ware campfire coffee pot.
    I sleep in a coleman popup tent. It is camping after all.
    Extra fuel cans and water mounted to rear bumper.
    Keep it simple.
    Can't wait to see the old Willys. I love the look of the old school Willys

      @Marcelmopartruckguy I don't know what channel you are referring to. I have been offroading since 1975. My first car was a 1943 International M-2-4 military weapons carrier.
      I went camping and hiking when I was a kid. Now, they call it "overlanding". Lol!
      It's just camping, folks. A sleeping bag, a tent, a folding chair.
      I like this channel to see the different builds. I am a carpenter and an amateur welder. It's good to see young folks working a trade and building things.

    An exhaust pipe up the side [with a heat shield] for deep water forging. An example was on the Hummer you had in the shop. Roof top tent and awning. The outdoor shower is nice for both an enclosed porta potty and shower . Spare fuel tanks and water. Max tracs.. Mollie plates for accessories. Chainsaw mount. Shovel and camp axe. Some form of tire air system. Something for cooking and a cooler of some form. Camp chairs. Trash bag. Camping utensils... Slow crawling mode. Power supply. Minimal yet functional necessities for living and being comfortable. Plus, being able to navigate the terrain. An overlanding vehicle is a jack of all trades vehicle.
    Good luck, Hunter, in your new adventure. No doubt you will find happiness and success. Shaun the same to you as well. Look forward to seeing you on your channel. Continuing success and best wishes to you both.

    As for the overlander, designing it so that you can pull up somewhere during a storm and still get a good meal and into bed without getting soaked is crucial. Fair weather is one thing, but being comfortable when it’s raining, cold, and windy is what really sets rigs and people apart.

      I think they’re still trying to carve out a channel and might be successful, but I have to admit that I lost interest in it. It wasn’t at all what I wanna watch on UA-cam. It’s just a family vlog channel, not an automotive or a build channel. Seeing someone put siding on a house just isn’t what I wanna watch but I hope they find an audience that does enjoy that content. Idk what happened with Ben and Paul, but it was definitely a falling out of some sort because him leaving was barely mentioned, and he’s never been back or hardly even mentioned since. It definitely was different than Hunter/Sean/Randall getting a nice little send off.
