Just gonna drop some recs here:
    Lollipop Chainsaw RePop,
    The Bunny Graveyard,
Slippy the frog, (a bit cozy though)
    Lunistice,
    Demon Turf,
    Class of ‘09,
    Little Misfortune,
    Fran Bow,
    Vividlope
The Cosmic Wheel of Sisterhood would probably be considered a cozy game but I feel I should mention it because it’s one of those pieces of media that I feel encompasses being a woman.
Some not-so-girly but still total girl boss games:
    Bayoneta(she is such an icon),
    En Garde!,
    Pseudoregalia,
    Metal Hellsinger
Baulders Gate 3 can feel girly too
Some that haven’t come out yet: Lost Records: Rage & Bloom and Incolatus: Don't Stop, Girlypop!
    Very, very girly.

Heck yeah! On Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood - love it; I might be iffy about it’s coziness, personally! A lot of the narrative is pretty heavy, the choices you have to make and the interpersonal repercussions… it could get pretty stressful for me at times hahah. It definitely has a good cozy game proportion though.

@ Your right. The beginning was very cozy but it ramps up in emotions and intensity. I absolutely loved it, especially the parts with her sister. She was unlike any character I’d ever seen and their bond was so sweet.

Great video! I can recommenced two games, an upcoming one called Incolatus: Don't Stop, Girlypop!, which is a ultra pink movement shooter, that looks amazing! I'm also recommending my GOTY, Sorry We're Closed, which is a super queer Survival Horror with a unique shooting mechanic and great art and characters. There's a demo you can try out, Highly reccommend

omg RIVER CITY GIRLS WOULD FS BE ON YOUR LIST!!! it's actually a beat em up spinoff from a series called kunio kun and not only is the gameplay and abilities super rewarding yet difficult, the aesthetics and characters are super girly. I adore rcg and I wish more people knew about it

Some of these games I’ve never heard of before. I’m excited to look into them. I like cozy games but they do start to feel like they’re all the same

Sayonara Wild Hearts would be a fantastic addition to this list, stunning visual style and soundtrack, one of my all time favs. To swing back in the totally opposite direction would we count Silent Hill 3 bc Heather Mason is an absolute girlboss

My favourite type of video, someone talking about a super niche kind of video game that they're passionate about! Thanks for all the recs, I hadn't heard of most of these before but I'm a big Old School Runescape girly! Fida Puti Samurai looks soo good

Honestly the only girly game that has really scratched the itch I've had lately has been Infinity Nikki. Though yes, it is more marketed as a cozy game, but it's Cozy in the way Breath of the Wild is Cozy. You're still fighting enemies - though they're mostly one-shot trash mobs and the bosses are defeatable in under a minute if you're used to action RPGs.
But it Almost gets there, what I long for, crave, is a good, unapologetically feminine (which Nikki is, no doubt, brownie points there) hack n slash magical girl game, with really good combat and enemies that actually provide a decent challenge.

I think that might be why I enjoyed Record of Lodoss War-Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth-. It's not about a traditional magical girl exactly, but the only PC is a high elf who fights with a mixture of sword/bow, and magic. The pixel style is gorgeous, the metroidvania feels engaging, and it helps that I happen to really like Deedlit and have since I watched Record of Lodoss War as a teen.
But also, ugh. Nikki has healed so much of my inner... idek what. But it's been healing and just. I didn't know how badly I needed a game like this.

    • @ShazzaRose
      @ShazzaRose 10 годин тому

@@Starscall Nikki really is, so so sooo close to the game I always wanted. It literally has made me cry several times (the crane ride, the views, the more intricate outfits, the ending of the main story etc), it's like playing a Barbie movie from the early 00's. But is everything the Barbie games have lacked. Engaging story, interesting characters, fun gameplay, gorgeous world and a beautiful soundtrack. Infold did good. 👍
The only downside of course is it's a gacha game.
It's just lacking a bit in the post-story stage. I combed the world hardcore so I've done basically all but 2 sidequests, found a majority of the whimstars, chests and dews, cleared every cave, and have beaten every style faction on Perfect. Now its slowed down to me just logging in to do my daily wishes, gather the daily respawn materials and spend my vital energy. I want more to do! 😭

It really is still sad that girly aesthetic games are still supposedly "not good to make" or people can't figure it out..but like cozy games are so broad that it does encompass what used to be considered "girly" games.
Idk people underestimate girls and women consumers all the time when so many of them play the most insane, quirky and mainstream games.

I’ve gotten into the Atelier RPG series with the Ryza line of games, and have been playing Atelier Resleriana, the series gacha that involves characters from across the franchise. Love these games, I would say “girly” for sure! Character casts are largely femme-forward; there’s a lot of character-driven story and character development as you go; a lot of wholesome supporting one another. Add to that the gathering, dungeon delving, crafting, and world-saving and you’ve got some really solid and heartfelt RPGs. Ryza 2 was my first entry (not counting Mana Khemia, years before) and I think it hit best for me of her games line! Big time recommend!

I can't recommend "Infinity Nikki" highly enough. Though the tagline is "coziest open world", it is more of a platformer/rpg and unapologetically feminine. It's my personal GOTY, you can feel the love and attention to detail oozing out of the screen no matter what you're doing in that game. IThere is a gacha system, but it's not predatory with how it's implemented. If you like zelda, animal crossing, mario, spyro, genshin impact, then highly recommend

I love cozy games but my faves will always be action, adventure, puzzles, and psychological horror! Lists like these are super important!
My fave non cozy girly games are: (just my opinion)
Fran Bow, Alice Madness Returns, Adventure Escape Mysteries (seriously this game series needs more recognition! It is like 40 games by Haiku Games), Contrast, Flipping Death, Life is Strange series, Little Nightmares series, Mirror's Edge series, and don't forget that some Nancy Drew games are legit terrifying!
I've also been really into Infinity Nikki because it's not just a cozy game, it has a lot of different elements to it.

Even as a guy a lot of these appeal to me, some of them are already on my wishlist (Unbeatable, Going Under.). As someone else recommended, you might like Demon Turf of Pseudoregalia if platformers are your thing.

i love the idea of girly games that arent cozy bc they are out there!! ive tried so hard to go back to cozy games after 80h+ on stardew, but like you said, as a working adult, the last thing i want is a game that gamefies chores, no matter how cute it is lol the ones that instantly come to mind for me are
Mother/Earthbound, Yumi Nikki (creepy tho), and i havent played it yet but judging by the very little i played of the og and the ost, SMT5 Vengeance (i like to call it scabby girl summer lmao)
also for cozy games that are not girly, highly recommend the long dark. tbh a lot of survival crafting games are cozy with an edge lol also yakuza, shenmue and persona (yakuza is peak camp, people can deny it all they want. plus all three have great life simming and heartfelt stories). and *most* Zeldas id say are cozy lol

I see no one listed blue reflection a magical girl game i love the art style not even gamer but love magical girls and girly things. Rpg action magical girl where run around school forming bonds with other girls. There also crystar or crymachina never owned the games though but would like too. There also night of azure though does have questionale fanservice but who said females don't like fanservice in their games though does depend the presentation of such if deam female or male fanservice.

Though so glad this discussion topic I'm writer and artist who always loved girly thing ever since I was child but I also always more darker mature edge of interest such psychological drama often with philosophy, thriller, action, great characters development with more real consequences even some tragedy can be good if fits the circumstance as well girly character designs. But I guess I'm just that rare person so ya know how the saying goes if you want something done right you have to do it yourself.

I really wanted to like Crystar but it felt like a poor imitation of some of the things Nier was going for, and the gameplay is very clunky. Nights of Azure is also a bit janky but I had a lot more fun with that one.
