      @@JJjj-ud6db Keeping track of the order in which the events from the Arrowverse take place is almost as hard as keeping track of the order in which the events from the MCU take place (unless you're only counting the movies within the MCU).
      In the Arrowverse you have: "Arrow"; "Flash"; "Constantine"; "Vixen"; "Supergirl"; "DC's Legends of Tomorrow"; "Black Lightning"; "Freedom Fighters: The Ray"; "Titans"; and now "Batwoman" to keep track of (plus the new HBO series of "Watchmen" and possibly the series "Doom Patrol", I'm not entirely sure if they're part of it too or not). Not necessarily in that order (especially since some of them overlap a fair bit).
      In the MCU you have: the "Iron Man" movies; the "Captain America" movies; the "Thor" movies; the 2 "Hulk" movies "Hulk" & "The Incredible Hulk"); the "Avengers" movies; the Tom Holland Spider-Man movies; the "Ant Man" movies; "Black Panther"; "Doctor Strange"; the "Gaurdians of the Galaxy" movies; "Captain Marvel"; the "MARVEL's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" series; the "MARVEL's Runaways" series; the "MARVEL's Inhumans" series; the "MARVEL's Cloak and Dagger" series; the "Daredevil" Netflix series; the "Luke Cage" Netflix series; the "Jessica Jones" Netflix series; the "Iron Fist" Netflix series; the "The Defenders" Netflix series; and a few short movies that were used to advertise other upcoming projects within the MCU awhile back (plus the upcoming "Black Widow" movie and other upcoming projects they've announced/teased about). Not to mention the fact that Disney managed to cut another deal with Sony to keep Spider-Man in the MCU (and how Venom will become part of the MCU now too); and how, once Disney finishes buying out Fox, there's a good chance that the X-Men, Deadpool, and the Fantastic 4 are all probably gonna become part of the MCU as well. Seriously, the only MARVEL characters left that have had their own movies who won't be a part of the MCU are Blade and Ghost Rider; and even then Ghost Rider was a very significant character in season 4 of "MARVEL's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D", although it's technically not the same ghost rider from the movies, since the Ghost Rider from the movies was Johnny Blaze, and the one from "MARVEL's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" was Robbie Reyes (though the Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider DID at least make an appearance in the series during a flashback when Robbie Reyes was explaining how he became the Ghost Rider, since Johnny Blaze was the one who passed the Spirit of Vengeance over to Robbie to turn him into the Ghost Rider).
      Sorry for rambling, I can't help it sometimes.

    How often are you supposed to do this? Daily? Twice a day? More often than that even? And how long are you supposed to do it before you're finished (is it supposed to be for a year or something like the monk that Shado mentioned in Arrow)?

    • @BlackSunBoxing
      @BlackSunBoxing  4 роки тому

      This is kind of training doesn't have a "finish" date. It's just conditioning, and you lose what you stop training. It's more about the regular practice to keep yourself conditioned to a stimulus, similar to running or doing pushups. When you stop, it goes away.

    • @triples3273
      @triples3273 4 роки тому +2

      @@BlackSunBoxing I realize that. When I said "before you're finished", what I actually meant was "before you've reached a point to where you can accomplish whatever it is you were training for by slapping the water. And even if there's no "finish" to this type if training, every training regiment follows a sort of schedule you're meant to keep in order to help maximize the effects of the training; because if you don't train do training often enough then the training takes a lot longer, but if you train at something TOO often then you risk hurting yourself/wearing your muscles out (which can cause backwards progress). I was wondering what, in your opinion, would be the ideal frequency at which to do this type of training?

    • @BlackSunBoxing
      @BlackSunBoxing  4 роки тому +1

      @@triples3273 Fair enough. I would probably keep it on the low side just because it's more productive to practice conditioning your primary striking. Maybe one or two sessions per week as an accessory exercise. And probably not long sessions, closer to maybe just high double to low triple digits in reps.

    • @BlackSunBoxing

      @@triples3273 You might be thinking about thai fighters kicking banana trees. They're tough, but forgiving. But it's not really any different that striking a makiwara or wall bag. It's not about the object, it's about the resistance compared to your level of conditioning. In fact, many soft style guys never progress to harder materials, they focus more on their own internal processes and just use the sand bag for feedback.

    Also, let's be honest, you may not have actually FOUND OUT about the whole "slapping a bowl of water thing" from Arrow (given the name of your channel, it IS highly plausible that you knew about this training method before the episode of Arrow that showed it even came out); but, given the timing of when you uploaded this video (10 days after then episode of the Arrow where it showed Oliver slapping the bowl of water 1st aired on TV) and the fact that you replied to another comment on this video that mention how the whole slapping a bowl of water thing happened in Arrow saying that you love the show, there'syou a good chance that you probably had the idea to post a video on it after you saw Oliver doing it in that episode of arrow because you realized that people would be looking it up to whether or not it was a real thing, didn't you? Might as well have called the video "Step 1 of Learning How to Shoot a Bow Like The Arrow", lol.
    Btw, I'm totally joking (well, half-joking, anyway), I totally respect the years of discipline and teaing that martial.arts takes; it's just that I'm a VERY sarcastic person and when I notice connections like that I can tend to get very smug about it.

    Yup binged arrow and now im here, am i gonna do this? Yes. Now do you think its safe to punch concrete to strengthen knuckles? Or should i like start with a watermelon? (Sleeps on concrete so would just be punching the floor)

    • @triples3273
      @triples3273 4 роки тому +1

      As far as I know (although most of my knowledge is based off of things I've heard/seen in movies and TV shows), the best method for strengthening your knuckles/fists is punching trees (don't just start off with concrete). Although if you're just starting out, the best thing would be to start with something a little softer, like sand.
      Found these for you after a little bit of quick research: forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=270335&page=1
      "You start by rubbing your hands in dry sand, then gentle pounding in dry sand, then repeat the rubbing & pounding with wet sand, then again with fine gravel. All this over MANY years - real slow progression..."; this one is a quote that I altered slightly from one of the posts in the forum that I gave you the link to above. I'm guessing that after punching the fine gravel you'd probably move up to punching a wooden pole (since you can't exactly rub your hands IN a wooden pole, although I guess you COULD rub your hands OVER one or you could rub your hands in something full of pieces of wood, it's just that if you're doing the latter of the 2 then you'd have to make sure the wood in the bowl/whatever-it's-in is smooth enough that you don't get slivers from it) like one of the poles that hold up power lines/telephone wires or something even smoother than those, then move onto punching trees (or first rubbing your hands over trees or in something full of rough peices of bark from trees) - the reason why you'd start with a wooden POLE first is because they're a lot less rough/more smooth than the bark on a tree, so it'd be easier on your hands - and THEN you could probably move onto concrete (maybe even followed by metal after that).

      @@BlackSunBoxing yeah that story unfortunately I don't have any actual history. I've seen what seems to be two versions of that story though. Sure, there is plenty of possibility of hitting the container. The Shaolin have traditionally done this with large clay pots, which voids that concern pretty well. But if you're using something smaller, just focus on breaking surface tension and relaxing into the strike.
