Some of the problems with hangers is that you don't own the land, and the local government owns the airport.
@@manorin And the FAA has a say in what you can and can't store and/or do with a hangar on an airport that takes federal funds. In my neck of the woods the airport verifies that tenants are actually using the hangar to store a plane. No plane and you are out. There were way too many actual pilots looking for a place to store their plane and equally way too many renters using the hangars to store cars, bikes and conducting non-aviation related activities. As someone who is on a legitimate waiting list to rent hangar space, to put an airplane in, I really don't have a lot of sympathy for this discussion.
@@timfountain98 Easy fix - no reason an enterprising individual couldn't just build a hangar house somewhere that isn't an airport. How cool would it be to buy a small acreage and build a hangar house? Very, I think.
@@timfountain98 So buy a piece of land, with no HOA, and build your hanger/house.
@@timfountain98 Simple, move to middle of no where Kansas, where the FAA, Boeing, and the Air Force have a giant history of trying get rid of property they no longer need. Air Fields are all over out here. The only waiting list is are you willing to drop the coin for construction.

As a real estate agent and former residential appraiser, I can tell you that garage addition definitely added value to your house Hoovie. Although probably not as much as you paid to build it.

@@ciphergalm1174 It has to do with the enforcement of FAA Order 5190.6B at airports that receive FAA funding (most of them). I am not sure when it was written, but apparently the FAA has gotten much more active about enforcing it. Basically the airport will lose FAA funding if they rent hangars for non-aeronautical use. I was given the exact same answer at several airports a couple of years ago when looking to rent a hangar for my cars. There are some "creative ways" around it though... and with the downturn in the aviation industry and a resulting excess of vacant hangars in some areas, those airports are more receptive to helping with those "solutions".
In this case though, I am guessing these are privately owned hangars and there are some sort of guidelines regarding mixed use (home/hangar), but I don't know any of the details on any of that. These could also be some sort of long term land leases that allow for a privately constructed/owned buildings, or it could even be some sort of private land/hangar with airfield access.

I grew up in a housing development/ neighborhood similar to yours where houses and neighbors are close. Never again since I moved out in ‘87…country life where neighbors are never close enough to hear me and my Harley. It’s just less complicated man. No HOA shit, fk that. Enjoy your channel Hoover, happy to see your rise in the car world.
Oddly enough for the last 3 weeks been working on comming up with a garage home, belive this has steered me to a solid starting point.
That is the coolest arrangement I could ever imagine!!!
"WE'RE NOT GONNA TALK ABOUT THE OTHER CAR TREK CAR" -HOOVIE POINTS TO THE BLACK PORSCHE- LOOOOOOLL
i wonder if the mustang is hoovie's car, they haven't done a kind of car challenge below the usual bourgeoisie stuff yet unless you count the Cadillac from the Christmas special.
It could be the Ferrari 456
I'm betting on the mustang, were those svt wheels?
@@acebubu01 yup, it's an svt cobra
@@jorgey4 it wont be the mustang, wizard made a video on it, no way tyler would let him record it and leak the car first haha
The Trans Am was nice to see! I had one in high school as well...still have one.
I have to agree with you on ditching the clear corners.
