Your video is fine and I find it quite funny and hilarious honestly, you did a good job with it. But I simply can't give it anything other than a dislike due to that title

That may be true, but I can’t remember how many times Ive played ME1, still love it.

I replayed it just recently, and mostly enjoyed ME2, but the first game was a bit of a slog. Mods made ME3 reasonably fun, for example there's a whole voiced mod that adds Miranda back in as a squadmate for the 3rd Act which is fairly cool, but ultimately the takeaway for ME3 is just how lackluster the story is.
Other than Mordin. His storyline in ME3 still hit me in the feels.
Playing all three games back to makes you realize the Quarians are dogshit warmongers who keep starting wars on the Geth, who just want to be left alone. The whole Galaxy is trying to stop the Reapers and the Quarians are all "So, hear us out. What if instead of saving all life as we know it, including ours, we start another genocidal war on the Geth again to get the planet back that we lost the first time we tried to genocide the Geth?"
I let the Geth murder them in ME3 this time.

Spot on with the Quarians. The Geth wiping them out is one of my favorite moments in gaming history. I don't even take pleasure in seeing their fleet get destroyed (tons of innocent civilians dying due to Admiral Gerrel's warmongering) but it's still the correct choice in my mind. The Quarians using the Reaper War as an excuse to take back Rannoch is insane.

Not only has it not aged that badly at all, but it's still better than Mass Effect 3. 😆

Nah, Mass Effect 3 is the best in the trilogy. The ending is bad but it doesn't take away from the rest of the game.

    • @williamkerfoot8039

@ReasonablySizedChungus Oh really? Mass Effect 3 has the worst (and most simplistic) script and dialogue of the three games, the worst villains, lack of choices and player freedom, etc. It's so far from the RPG roots of the first game that it's practically a sin! And that's what makes Mass Effect 3 so overrated! Everyone thinks that the ending was the only thing wrong with it! That couldn't be any further from the truth!
And yes, the ending hurts it all the more since that's what separates the greats from the goods! Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 are GREAT games! Mass Effect 3? That's a joke!

@@williamkerfoot8039 All criticisms of Mass Effect 3 can be applied to Mass Effect 2. Mass Effect 2's main plot is a shoehorned side quest that could be skipped, the only part of the story that's actually essential to the plot is the Arrival DLC. The Council was annoying in the first game but they were literally reduced to utter incompetence in the second, denying the existence of Reapers exists SOLELY to allow Cerberus to take over the plot. That's a writing issue. Mass Effect 1 has the best writing in the game and the best villain (Saren) but the combat is outdated and most of the choices are lackluster aside from Virmire. ME3 letting you decide the fate of entire races is the definition of good RPG mechanics.

    • @williamkerfoot8039

@ReasonablySizedChungus You are out of your mind! The only things Mass Effect 3 lets you decide is whether or not the genophage is cured (and even then you only see the short term consequences instead of any long term ones), if the Quarians survive on Rannoch, and if the synthetic race is sacrificed at the end of the game or not! That's all! So many things that came before are either brushed over or left out! You can't even decide what character your Shepard is since they choose practically all the dialogue for you, how Shepard reacts to certain events, and the less said about those stupid dream sequences, the better!
Mass Effect 2 meanwhile is a good mix of MEs writing and ME3s combat. And I don't want to hear about its set up for ME3! You had the Lazarus Project, Haestrom, and the Collector Base as capable moments that would impact how ME3 plays out and ends. The fact that the answer is a big ol' plot device that was on Mars the whole time, not to mention the fact that the Reapers didn't take the Citadel ASAP like Sovereign did, just goes to show that the script for ME3 (along with Mac's frustrating comic book dialogue) never had a chance!

@@williamkerfoot8039 I never said the game was perfect, there are a lot of real issues (the dialogue being chosen for you like you said) but it still beats out ME2 by virtue of actually having a plot and important choices to be made by the player. The dream sequences suck but that's like 5 minutes total of playtime lol, it's better than having to listen to the Illusive Man and Miranda's BS constantly in 2.

Genuinely the worst part of doing a replay of the trilogy is having to slog through 1 to get to 2 and 3. I know the comic exists I know it’s faster but damnit you loose out on all the cool callbacks in 2 and 3.

I actually prefer 1 to the rest in many aspects. Considering how 2 is technically pointless and the combat is too reliant on cover shooting

    • @NightBeWheat
      @NightBeWheat Місяць тому

@@kregy7509 Yeah, cover shooting was a big problem in the sequels, i like being an unstoppable tank in ME1
but every enemy in 1 feels like a bullet sponge... compared to 2/3 where combat feels so much more rewarding.
