Hello! From Scotland, I’m from a little town called Motherwell. loved hearing this podcast, anything to hear from people who live outside of Scotland talk about how much they love it is music to my ears
They still have a decent Football team though.I had to look it up and I never expected Motherwell to only have 30000 inhabitants, thats even very small to Dutch standards!
I can relate to the oatcake fetish.. I discovered them when living in Scotland about 15 years ago. Very hard to find them anywhere else. I could definitely see myself moving back to Scotland just for those oatcakes.
@@AviChetriArtwork yeah, sorry i realise they are ubiquitous around the UK, by 'anywhere else', I really meant outside Europe. I'm in Australia, and a supermarket here used to stock them, but for some reason stopped importing them about 10 years ago.
I realized that too. She was so fascinating that it was more interesting to hear her stories than having her ask Conan the obligatory question and disrupt the flow.
@@lousywit I agree that it was a fascinating conversation, but her question would likely be pretty interesting, too. Plus, asking her question at the end would not disrupt any flow
Wow am very glad they/TeamCoco shared the portion of video when Mimi makes animated hand, sound effects for Conan's pistol compliment !!😄 Wanted to see that since hearing podcast👍
Yay! Finally I can see my favorite fan of Conan. This one was the absolute best. I laughed so much and she's such an inspiration for life! #MimiStrong! Ahoy!
Don't you need a visa and all kinds of paperwork to live in a foreign country? How can you just book a one way plane ticket like that? I know some countries will give you a few months with a just a passport for tourism, but living there is a whole other thing.
@@okkcomputer oh please. “White American” here and I can promise you we go through a vigorous immigration process and it is not easy. She either had familial ties to the UK or immigration laws were more lax back then.
I heard the podcast. She's a professional w some niche skill (I forget what). She probably got some sort of skilled migrant visa coz Scotland wanted what she could bring to the country.
I feel like she's a fan who could genuinely be friends with Conan. Their conversation was so engaging that Conan forget to even ask her if she had a question for him. Or maybe they ran out of time but either way she's seems really cool to talk to.
The guy's got almost 30 years of experience in hosting, interviewing, and self-deprecating humor. I'm sure he has enough self awareness to take a joke, or at least enough professionalism to not show any offense taken.
I'm not sure that she even called him old. He said "I want to be a burden on my wife when I'm old." Then she replied "Aren't you already?", which could have meant aren't you a burden already? And he jokes all the time about how his wife should have made a better choice of husband... so no I really doubt he was offended.
she kept interrupting and inhaling a whole oxygen tank before every sentence. i would lose my mind trying to have a conversation with her. she also sounds like a liar, but she might just be a bad story teller
I remember listening to this episode &, like Conan, being temporarily thrown by the detour into the detail of the oat cakes. I get Mimi though. I wouldn't be surprised if she's neurodivergent in some way. I enjoyed her episode.
CONAN, YOU AND YOUR HUMOR HAVE DEGRADED. STOP WASTING OUR TIME ON WITCHES! PFFFFFFFFTT! GET YOURSELF TOGETHER. HAVE YOU LOST YOUR RESPECT FOR YOURSELF?

This is the only Conan Needs A Fan episode where I HAD TO come and see the fan. Such an enchanting person!

Mon the Celtic!!
I am from Queenieburn, my family are from Kilysth.
I travel past 'South Queensferry' by train on my commute everyday. Very beautiful small town.
Wow, she's great! Enjoyed listening to her, glad Conan complimented her at the end too.
this lady is amazing! the story of her quitting her job and just moving away is my dream💙
I can relate to the oatcake fetish.. I discovered them when living in Scotland about 15 years ago. Very hard to find them anywhere else. I could definitely see myself moving back to Scotland just for those oatcakes.
I'm an American living in Staffordshire and they oatcakes here
As a Scottish native oatcakes are ass
There's oatcakes in London, Tesco, Sainsbury's, etc.

She out juvenile-energy'ed Conan in this episode
When I hear Conan start talking I can’t help to start smiling man I love his content I wish their was more new content
Mimi never asked Conan a question! They got so deep into her story that they forgot their usual formula. I wonder what she would ask Conan!

🥰🥰🥰 we love Conan, now we’re stealing the “you’re a delightful spice” compliment. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽♥️♥️♥️♥️
Hi; in Galway Conan; im from Boston 🍀
Probably the best “Conan needs a fan” pod
Mimi! I am also an American living in Scotland - moving to South Queensferry in a few weeks. Are we the only two there? Hahaha
Two short fires later I’m facing the park 😂
Omg! So hilarious! Conan really breaks things down into its hysterical parts!🥰

That's actually a good question. I also wonder that too.
she's white and american
Yes, you need a ton of documentation nowadays. She either had some sort of familial tie to the UK or it was easier back then.

Mimi was a lot of fun. She really kept Conan on his toes! :)
Omg love this! 😂😂 I want to go to Scotland. We all want to go to Scotland (not much competition for an American Funk band there… 🤔 hmmm)
Great episode, kind of an Amy poehler vibe from her

I'm an American in, America! And funny enough I've REALLY gotten into Betty Crocker Oatmeal cookies lately. Damn things are delicious!
You seemed to have adopted the native "och".
Bad ass!
Do you guys actually think conan got offended when she called him old on the later part of the podcast? It’s very unusual for conan to be so quiet

I wanna see the part when Mimi calls Conan “old”
hmmm ? Oat based "communion wafers" vs. Haggis ... which is more Scottish ? I'll be drinking a dram of Dewar's ... So wake me, when you decide.
I found this whole thing awkward, why are people praising this interview?
she kept interrupting and inhaling a whole oxygen tank before every sentence. i would lose my mind trying to have a conversation with her. she also sounds like a liar, but she might just be a bad story teller
absolutely insufferable woman. the kind who likes to feel more important than they actually are
