Not sure if Conan realizes how big of an impact his farewell speech had from Late Night, “Please do not be cynical. I hate cynicism - it's my least favorite quality, and it doesn't lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen.”

I think about that speech sometimes. Conan has influenced my sense of humor more than any other person, and he's been the one constant in my life for the past 22 years. I really admire him for his humbleness, kindness, and insight. Yet if theres one word I would use to describe myself, it's cynical. I've just spent so long getting beaten and brutalized by the system, by people, by life. I watch good people get victimized and stepped on while others get ahead by lying, cheating, and taking advantage of others. I do what I think is right because I can't live with myself if I don't, but it's never gotten me anything other than being told "you're so kind" when I express this disillusionment. When I do get hopeful about something, it isn't long before something or someone destroys those hopes. That happens enough times, and it gets really hard to be hopeful. All this seems to happen with the predictability of bowel distress after a trip to KFC.
Conan talks about being blessed. I'm glad he is, but I think some of us are just damned.

Conan had some big shoes to fill. I think many people assumed the transition from the iconic "Late Night with David Letterman" to "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" would be a trainwreck. I recently watched Don Giller's compilation of all the times Conan and Dave appeared on each other's shows, and it's a joy to watch. With all the ugliness of... well, Jay Leno, on multiple levels, it was cathartic to see these two legends lift each other up instead of tearing each other down. And when Conan himself got "Lenoed" in 2009-2010? The whole drama that played out before our eyes, culminating in his appearances on "The Late Show", gave new meaning to the phrase "must-see TV".

it always shocks me whenever I'd hear about Conan's start as a late night host and the struggles and criticisms he faced back then. I discovered Conan via his remotes in youtube (since we dont have tbs or nbc in our country) and his wit and comedic timing is so flawless, to the point that i still laugh at his schtick even if i've already watched a video of his a couple of times. His comedic talents are insanely good that I can't believe critics back then didn't like him. I don't think any hosts can even compare to him. Anyway, I hope Conan knows that he is appreciated by many people around the world and i truly wish nothing but the best for him and his team. :)

The best of the best! I'd love to hear more about the tour after the Tonight Show debacle. I was lucky enough to see him live in San Francisco during that tour and it was easily one of the best live performances I've ever experienced. So much fun.

What I love about Conan is that his journey compels me to look at my own life and be grateful for the stumbles and bumbles that led to the great things. His TBS show and remotes got me through grad school and his podcast got me through Covid. Thankful to be living in Conan and his gang's era and see these milestones with them...

Well, I suppose, that's what I like about Conan and his crew. He doesn't look at his old (and new) colleagues as mere colleagues from work; a lot of these acquaintances became long lasting friendships - and he values them like family. In that light, even though he was a writer on The Simpsons, Conan is - by all means - a true family guy. Keep up the good work guys, you're always pulling it off to make someone laugh (judging from my very own experience), even after a rough, messed up day. And that is just pure gold, ... which merits a Team-Coco colored heart: 🧡, 🙏

I didn’t get to start watching Conan until I was in high school and it was usually Friday nights when I could stay up late. Many remotes and skits are seared into my memory. It’s also nice to know that Andy was given a chance to shine as Conan’s sidekick, I can’t imagine a show without him!

I remember the first time I saw Conan, when David Letterman introduced him as the new host of late night. As soon as he walked out my friends and I all thought, oh, no, there's no way this guy will last, but in about five minutes he had us all laughing so hard we wanted to see him succeed. Thank goodness he did.

Congrats on 30 years Conan! I was becoming an adult right around when you started the show. Your lightning quick wit and sense of humor really spoke to me at that time and very much formed a lot of my own sense of humor. You are definitely my generation's GOAT! Thanks for 30 years, and looking forward to many more years of laughter!

Thanks Conan for the countless nights with countless laughs and being a distant “friend” for me when I had just moved to a cold and rainy Seattle from a foreign country. You actually helped me learn English. Lol
You are flat out the best, funnier, sharper, brighter, nicer, most talented, most articulate, most educated talk show host in history and you’re an amazing human being/father/husband/friend.
You do make our lives better. It has been an honor watching you for decades.
Now, get a new show going, stop your “vacation” (lol) and entertain the masses again.
    Make this nation smart again.

When you remember how badly Jay Leno screwed him over, his career is proof that he's actually probably a genuinely good person. Most people would have fallen to bitterness, and Conan just went about building his own brand while keeping kindness and respect in his heart.

I was born in 1991 and have no memories of David letterman or Jay Leno (I guess I remember Leno, but he never made me laugh.) the iconic memories I do have from the late night era are all Conan, his band triumph the insult dog. since then late night really hasn’t been the same. Now 25 years after discovering Conan, I still listen to every podcast episode and he has helped me through some very dark times in my life. Thank you all.

Conan's cousin was my social studies teacher when I was a senior in high school. Her parting advice to us was to watch him when we started college in the fall. So that fateful evening on Sept. 13, 1993, I turned on the TV at 12:30 am to watch Conan's debut and I was instantly hooked by his unusual brand of comedy.
