    Jazz should see a dermatologist for a follow up. Red inflamed areas of scalp/skin can be signs of skin infections that require medicines and/or skin issues like psoriasis. Salon scalp treatments are great, but sometimes there is an underlying issue that needs to be addressed. Personally, I have psoriasis and have 4 patches of it on my scalp. My hairdresser gives me scalp treatments, but it's only a temporary help, not a long term solution. Regardless, happy to see Jazz get pampered and feel special 😊

      Shampoo: rub it between your hands and put it and wash your scalp with it.
      Conditioner: what you should do, is also rub it in your hands and wash your hair with it. If you wash your hair with shampoo, it dries it and the ends.

    • @dawnchesbro4189

      Japanese genetics means naturally curly hair, like Jaz has, is nearly unheard of. And people with genetically straight hair often find that scalp oils build up on hair quickly, causing the hair to go greasy. So cleansing those oils from straight hair scalps helps keep the hair looking its best. Curly hair people actually rely on that scalp oil (called sebaceous oils) to protect their hair. Because of curly hair's structure - which is thick and thin texture on the same hair strand - can get dried out and become frizzy without the protective layer of oil. That's why many Curly people use the co-wash method of cleaning their hair, with occasional cleansing washes for scalp health.

    Finding a school to get scalp treatments is less $ and helps the students learn.
    In the summer months I wash my hair in conditioner mostly using shampoo about twice a month.
    FYI when painting I will put conditioner in my hair fairly heavy after towel drying, then braid or ponytail. Paint doesn’t stick to hair and sits on conditioner instead so it rinses off.

I started using a shampoo brush to gently massage my scalp and remove the buildup, followed by applying oil (almond oil) on my scalp for a massage, leaving it in for at least an hour. After that I shampoo and condition as usual, and my scalp has shown a LOT of improvement in the past 2 months of doing this. First, I love seeing Jazmine and Lindsey together. So wonderful to see a video of you both. Next, thanks for doing this type of video. I have had scalp build up issues since I was in elementary school. I would use various dandruff shampoos and that would not alleviate the build up. Since the pandemic, my scalp has gotten a lot more build up, even after shampooing every day. I even stopped using hair products. It has cost a large amount of hair loss on the top of my scalp. I have a medicated shampoo, but it is not able to do much. Perhaps a deep clean might help, so thank you for doing this video.

      You've probably already seen some comments about it here, but you should look into organic apple cider vinegar rinses. You can mix them at home and add some herbs/flowers like rosemary, lavender or camomile to reduce inflammation and nourish your scalp and hair. I personally have 3a type hair but I've also made some for friends with various hair types and they've all loved them.

      You should try a clarifying shampoo. It will get rid of all the excess buildup and cleanse your scalp and hair. Just remember to follow up with a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner

    • @RoibenRocks
      @RoibenRocks 2 роки тому +1

      @@Elisabear I have used clarifying shampoo before and my problem with those is exactly that: Everything is squeaky clean afterwards but my hair is dried out even though I use a sulfate free shampoo. And then I really need to deep condition which just means that there's new buildup. That's why I've been making my own apple cider rinse: it's completely natural and cleanses by restoring the natural pH balance without drying your hair out. At least that's what I've found.

    • @RoibenRocks
      @RoibenRocks 2 роки тому +1

      Oh, and by the way, @Melissa: I'm sure that since you've been using some medicated shampoo, you've been to see a specialist and your issues are due to something medical, but just in case you haven't and thy aren't: No matter what type of hair you have, please do not wash it daily. And please use silicone and sulfate free shampoo or shampoo with a gentle sulfate (like coco sulfate).

    This reminds me of years ago when Oprah shared a story that a newscaster her job came with a hairstylist. The stylist had no idea what to do with her hair. When she asked the lady had she ever did black hair, the stylist said - yes, I do black hair, red hair, brown hair, and I can do your hair.
    Against her better judgment, she allowed the lady to do her hair. The lady was stumped when hair reverted during shampooing. Needless to say, it was a horrible experience by someone who had no knowledge or experience with black hair.

    *I wonder if Jazz ever went to a dermatologist. Tons of patients enter with the same problem and can be properly diagnosed and given special shampoos and solutions to address and sometimes eliminate the problem. If it's a deeper problem sometimes medications can be administered to combat the problem from the inside, in conjunction with the topical products! A lot of spas charge tons for these types of treatments just for the problem to return shortly after. At least with the medications it can be more affordable, depending on insurance provider, and beneficial in the long run!* 😊
