The arrow on that filter is NOT an air flow direction arrow. All horizontally mounted cabin air filters with the blower motor mounted below the filter will have downward air flow. Most air filters do have air flow direction arrows but some, like the one in this video, simply have arrows that point up. These arrows merely mean "This Side Up". So yes an up arrow should point up. But if you buy a different brand filter next time and it says "Air Flow" next to the arrow, then it should point down. Look closely at an old filter that has been in the car for a while. The dirt collects on the topside of the old filter. This is undeniable evidence that incoming unfiltered dirty air enters the top of the filter then clean filtered air enters the blower below the filter where it is distributed through the ducts. If dirty air came into the filter from the bottom then all the dirt that was on top of the old filter would be trapped inside the blower under the filter.
Just changed my cabin air filter and I had to open the hood and unfasten the screws from the cowling covers to get to it. wasn't hard tbh took literally 2-3 minutes. Also replaced my engine filter as well it's recommended to change both at the same time.
