  • Learn how to replace the engine air filter in your car. The truck used in the video is a 2001 Mazda B3000 aka Ford Ranger. This process will be similar on most cars and trucks. In this case no tools were needed. Sometimes you might need a screw driver. An air filter should be replaced every 30-50k miles based on how you use your car.

every 2 years or 30,000 miles I think.
      In the owner's manual.
And 10,000 miles for the filter inside the car. or every 12 months.
Thats when NOT driving in severe conditions if I recall

Hey Chrisfix, I read that those oil impregnated filters can leave a residue on the mass air sensor causing it to produce false values. See this link. www.nicoclub.com/archives/kn-vs-oem-filter.html would love to hear why Fram sucks, been using Fram for years on many vehicles without much thought or problems with them. Do tell and keep these videos coming, I love your channel and the way you cut through the BS with real data.

Eric Mayo Thanks for sharing! I dont trust fram oil filters after I saw an experiment where someone took apart oil filters and fram had a gap in the filter element where oil would bypass.

Hey chris... ive been watching your channel for a while. And i have been thinking about buying a k&n air filter or a other branded performance filter which brand would u recomend. And could you do a video on cleaning and oiling a filter at the same time can u over oil these filter. If so demonstrate what a over oiled filter is. I wanna get a perfomance filter but dont wanna damage my engine from oil or cleaner in the long run and cost me thousands.

Would you recommend K&N air filter on a 2019.Rav4?

My brother wouldnt dare do this on his own. He'd pay a mechanic. Won't let me go near his car. Two women I know pay $87.00 for oil changes
