In my dads 63 Galaxie he welded a period correct shifter handle with correct knob to the Hurst lower end and had the best of both worlds. Looks and function.
@@olipl1970 back in the day the stock four speed shifters were one of the first things that got replaced with a superior Hurst shifter but I hear where your coming from 👍 .

Reverse is left and up not down
@@sidmelban4753 it's different depending on shifter. Hurst is left and up, original is left and down.
Why would you remove a great Hurst shifter for a piece of junk factory shifter🤔 ?
If you ask this you don't anderstand it. I love it original and it works great. Not as fast as the Hurst but fast enough.
