    You mentioned having an 645 previously, I’m interested to know what you think about the cars compared to each other? Is the M6 worth the extra headache and worry that the V10 will destruct itself? Love the looks of the E63 but I’m not sure how I would spend my money

    • @roadtrolls4403
      @roadtrolls4403  Рік тому +2

      It depends what you're looking for. For me, I don't drive a lot, and I want those journeys to feel special so the M6 is the car for me.
      A 645ci is a great car but more of a cruiser. Softer, quieter, less of an engaging experience. Still plenty fast enough for most, but not visceral, engaging or, when driven hard, frightening like an M6 can be.
      In terms of the worry - the main concern is rod bearings. If the car has no proof that it's had them done, you have to factor in the price of this work into the purchase price. You'll be looking at something like £1850 in the UK for the job. I always intended on having them done, and since making this video it's all sorted.

    • @christianbagge609
      @christianbagge609 Рік тому

      @@roadtrolls4403 Thanks! Great answer! I have similar preferences regarding cars. The 645:s are just so cheap so it’s still a bit tempting even I’m looking for something engaging.

    • @roadtrolls4403
      @roadtrolls4403  Рік тому

      @@christianbagge609 If the M6 is out of your budget, a 645ci is a pretty decent car. Just make sure you do your research on things to check, and work towards an M6 ;-)
      Personally I'd probably be looking at an e92 330 or 335 as they're a bit more fun, if a bit more raw.

    8.6 mpg that doesn’t seem right , I have the same engine in the M5 ( 57 plate ) my average is around 15 mpg that’s including booting the car ... I think after 3 years of ownership the lowest I’ve seen the mpg is 13 mpg ..... word of advice invest in a trickle charger this is a must especially if the car is a weekend toy as mine is because your battery will drain 😎👍🇬🇧
    In three years of ownership I still have the same Michelin pilot super sports on the car so great tyres.
    The trickle charger is the CTEK MXS 5.0 recommended by Bmw this is the one I use and since using it the battery has been great.
    Another heads up for M5 owners if you have a battery discharge come up on the dashboard when you first start the car it could be a tracker that was fitted to the car , a Bmw guy told me a couple of years ago he said it’s nothing to worry about and doesn’t affect the car 😎👍

      @@jimmynickelz .. that’s the main no no with these cars which a lot of people didn’t realise years ago never thrash them cold including the gearbox always warm them to temperature and in the process keep the revs below 3k 👍
      By doing this it’s a very reliable car to own , I looked for a good example with full Bmw history around 70k miles on the clock and a couple of owners on the log book, all I’ve done to it is changed the oil cooler ( stone chip damage) and had the throttle actuators changed for preventive maintenance next I’m having the rod bearings changed and at the same time the vanos pipe and engine mounts
      This cars a keeper without a doubt it’s even better then my old E46 M3 and that’s a bold statement to make as that was the best car you can buy under ten grand in my opinion at the time and the handling was sublime ... definitely a future classic, when I have room I’m going to have to have one alongside the V10

      There are 3 modes. p400, p500, p500 sport. p400 limits the torque and hp whereas p500 has maximum torque/power but a slightly different power delivery band. p500 sport is the same power, but a more aggressive band, and far sharper throttle response. There is no cylinder deactivation.

      And no, it's not 500 to the wheels. 507 and 500 are both crank measures, but one is PS (metric hp), the other is HP(mechanical hp). There is a slight difference.
